@@RaitisRides I know, don't get me wrong I'm a Jeep fan. Something about the way they price their vehicles is a little cringy. I live in Canada and that same Jeep with ZERO upgrades still goes for around 30 + it's nutty. Plus the quality of the Jeeps now or not like they used to be same goes for most FCA vehicles

They up charge so much for those lift components ... that's crazy though considering my 2015 JKUR automatic, with hard top, heated seats, and power everything, auto start ... was $42,000

I understand some think it’s expensive and if this wasn’t a Jeep with dealer added lift you can walk away for 32 or less. I’m biased We have had a few. I do live in the north. Currently a 18 JLU rubicon OTD 48500. Every single option I could want or need. If you look at any other suv with comparable options you are close to the same money. Now a couple differences. You also get a full size vehicle and convertible a great feature anywhere in the country. The fact that it’s nearly impossible to get stuck in the snow. You aren’t getting that with normal suv. The fun factor is there as well. And if you enjoy vehicles and love to tinker and customize there are endless possibilities. In our stressful world you can commute to our stressful 9-5 jobs but you can also forget about a lot when you are in a wrangler. Nice video

I’ve owned two Sports (JK & JKU); now have the Rubicon (JL). Getting older and wanted more out of the gate - the Dana 44s, F & R lockers, swaybar disconnect, etc.
That being said, it’s fun to get a Sport and modify along the way. First mod would be to remove those Euro spec bumper pieces that fit between the bumper & front fenders - those are hideous. Would only do hard top; the soft tops look like crap after 60K miles or so.

Just what I've always wanted in a vehicle; the ability to remove the doors, fold the windshield onto the hood, and get rid of the roof. Many are the times I've wanted to ditch the doors on my car. I've tried it on several vehicles without success. Just kidding. I fully support the availability of the Wrangler for the Jeep cult. Otherwise, I suspect they might consider armed revolution. :)

I'm on my 5th Jeep Wrangler (2017) and would not mind an upgrade to the JL. However, I don't like the fact that new 3.6L engines are not made in the USA. The only major component on my JK not made in the USA is the German (Mercedes Benz) sourced transmission, but that's OK. I have all the confidence in the world with MB making transmissions. So, I'll keep my JK a bit longer...until Jeep starts making them with the domestically produced engine.

Windshield is sloped back more, more added plastic and even the new ones on the lot the plastic looks old already. Rear tail lights give the rear end a droopy look to it, hard to explain but it looks funny. And the prices on the JL's! INSANE!

My experience owning one so far...
Every ad, pamphlet, sales literature and even the sales pitch at the dealership revolve around it's off road capabilities. Yet doing things I did on a weekend basis with my 20 year old Wrangler TJ Sahara caused the yolk on the front inner axle to fail, taking out a ball joint and snapped an ear off of the now cheap aluminum steering knuckle. All on a brand new 2019 Wrangler JL Rubicon!
First they tried to brush me off due to evidence of mud under the vehicle (for real?). The argument quickly escalated that I possibly hit something despite 0 damage on any other components. They wouldn't say I did hit something for sure, but since it was a possibility... they had an argument. It was also a possibility a part failed... just saying. When making it clear I couldn't be without a vehicle any longer and that I have to get it fixed, I asked if it needed anything else. They didn't know, as they didn't inspect it. They just saw it was broke and dirty and essentially just said nope unless I paid up. I was told they could see if anything aside from what they could see by looking behind the tire was broke, but I'd have to pay for a full inspection. At one point I was given the option to pay in "advance" to speed up the repairs and if the warranty kicked in, I'd be reimbursed. Ya, right...
Being jerked around between the dealership and customer service, I took my jeep elsewhere to get fixed. Doing so apparently waived my right to complain anymore or receive compensation. But after 2 weeks of being without a vehicle... it had to be done. It turned into 3 weeks after everything was said and done.
    That's what 60k buys you!
I've posted this a few times on Jeeps facebook page. Which are all deleted and I am blocked now from commenting. Guess your only allowed to tell people to go ahead and void your warranty work, it's fun!

Why is that $39000? The base price of a 19 Wrangler sport is a little over $28000. Automatic Transmission is a $2000 option Mopar lift is $1500 so I guess the tires and rims must have cost $7500. My 18 sport s cost me $32700 it came with a lot more options than that Jeep like power windows, locks, mirrors, alloy wheels which the tire dealer took in as trade for my Mickey Thompson rims. All total with my lift, tires, rims mine was less than $35000.

It’s pure shit. You can find a clean higher end BMW with low mileage for 40k. The difference in luxury, performance, and brand would be ridiculous. I don’t understand why someone would become a laughing stock spending big money on this cereal box car that drives worse than any car on the road.

Its a 28k msrp and they’re probably charging 10k for the tires and shocks... for 6k you can do that yourself at a shop and get some actual beedlock wheels and better shocks and a nice lift. NEVER buy a modified new car from a dealer. Ever. You’re always over paying through the nose.

If you want a new Wrangler, you must buy from a dealer. However, I would advise people to never buy a modified wrangler from a dealer. They always ask too much for the junk they install (in this case, a lift we know very little about, and some Nitto tires). To put things in perspective, I just bought a 2019 Rubicon for $42,000, which was almost $4,000 under MSRP. For that extra $3k I didn’t get a cheap lift, but I got a heavier front axle, F/R lockers, a better transfer case, a sway bar disconnect, the 8.4” radio, Alpine audio system, power windows and locks, the premium soft top, led head headlights, and heated seats/steering wheel. I can drop $2,000 on a premium lift and $1,500 on tires later and be far more capable.

Gavin M try another dealer. Go to edmunds dot com first and build what you want and look at the summary screen. It will tell you what the true market value is. Then you will have an idea going in. There is a dealer five minutes from me that wanted almost $5,000 more for essentially the same vehicle. I went to a larger dealer 30 minutes away and paid the $42k.

Jeep is taking forever to release the diesel version. Too bad it’ll be an Italian diesel under the hood of the American icon instead of a Cummins ... probably the reason for the delays (well that and diesel gate). So Jeep should get a zonk for VM Motori. 2019, (like the comment said) 39K for manual windows ... that should be a damn zonk on principle. 🤣🤣... good review RR

I'm torn on the Jeep Sport because they are way, way overpriced. I do love the simplicity of the sport, all the way down to the crank windows. If I were to get one, the only options I'd want are the hard top and air conditioning. I'm not sure I'd want the manual or automatic. The 3.6 Pentastar engine is proven and honestly, it's the only FCA product I would consider purchasing. But man, that price...
