    #instantpot #ninjafoodi #pressureluck #frenchonionpasta #frenchonionsoup #frenchonionmacandcheese
It began with the best French Onion Soup. Then, I took that soup and turned it into French Onion Chicken that became an international sensation and put Pressure Luck on the map. So I followed it up with my super popular French Onion Risotto and then my Cream of Onion Soup!
But I felt like I needed to make one more dish in the French Onion family.
And so I decided to create something I've been thinking of for a while and now that we all seek some comfort on the chilly nights ahead, it's time to introduce the world to FRENCH ONION PASTA. Or maybe I should call it French Onion Mac & Cheese because it's not only full of a deep French Onion Soup flavor, but its also LOADED with ooey, gooey, stretchy cheese!
Not only are the flavors abundant and truly wonderful in the way they combine, this is a SNAP and takes NO TIME AT ALL to make in your Instant Pot!

This recipe is awesome, I have made it a few times, and the 6 qt pot is big enough to double it if you need. The 2 things I did was 1: use premade slow cooked onions, and 2: added brandy, 1 shot.

Jeff, got my Instant Pot today, Christmas Eve, and this was the first thing I made. Mostly because it’s the only one of your recipes I had stocked all the ingredients. It didn’t go well and was hoping for advise. Followed your recipe and cooking times. I guess I’m used to softer noodles, so although they were done I added another cup of broth and and pressure cooked an another 3 minutes. I prefer them a little softer but I went with it because I found myself in a quandary. The noodles were a little to firm for my taste but everything else was drying up. I ended up with hard sticky noodles that had incredibly good flavor.

Jeff, made this this evening with my Breville Fast Slo Pro and it turned out fantastic. 2 observations; the campenlle (sp?) soaked up all the liquid and many of the noodles "blew apart." I think next time I will try 6 min on 50% pressure. Also, I added just a hint of lemon zest. Wish I could post pics here.

After some experimentation, (and reading the manual) it is suggested when pressure cooking delicate ingredients such as noodles and beans, it is best to do natural release. Quick release creates a "violent" reaction inside the pot which breaks apart the noodles or beans.

If you have an Aldi store near you, use their grated Gruyere instead of the k***t shredded swiss. It had such a great flavor.
I would make this for my hubby because he loves French onion soup and I never make it (don't have the right soup crocks that can go under the broiler or I would.) I have to try this.

Another successful recipe from you! I had tried to make this one other time and I messed it up, put it on sauté! It was a curdled mess...totally my fault. Once done just ‘keep warm’ and no curdling 🤗🤗 the fried French onions are a must with this one AND...might I add...a piece of Texas Toast 😳😳😳

I just did a variation on this because I started cooking the onions and then I realized I had no red wine. I had marsala wine and I added mushrooms to the onions and kept everything else the same. It turned out incredible, it was like a creamy marsala sauce.

Yes, this an 'over-the-top' recipe, but we think it just tasted weird (not bad....but not particularly good either). Excellently written recipe (except for of the ommission of the 1/2 C of half of half). Looking for the next recipe from you Jeffrey. I am a great fan of your Instant Pot videos.

What a coinkydink. Mine was made with combo of Campbell's onion soup and Campbell's consomme with of course the red wine and herbs and spices - and boiled the fetuccine noodles. Leftover was turned into a meat sauce.

I tried this and it was delicious. The only thing was that I substituted large shells instead of campinelle (the local store doesn't sell it), it came out a little under done so maybe an extra minute or two. Other than that, perfect. I loved the flavor.

I never realized there was such a stigma about pressure cookers. I was a line cook at Denny’s type restaurants in my youth and used the industrial sized ones. They were dangerous but I received more injuries than any other piece of equipment from the waffle irons. I’ve had an entire vat of grease from a deep fryer splashed on me by a falling heating element during cleaning and came out unscathed. I still have burn scars from the waffle irons.
