Most piano students would start to learn and be taught 'The Well Tempered Clavier' at some point as their music lessons get more serious and into the higher levels. A great work of immense pedagogical value, I have decided to feature a selection of Preludes and Fugues, starting from No. 1 in C major. This video discusses J.S. Bach's unique style of writing and the contrapuntal features of the fugue. By combining theoretical knowledge and performance elements, this series of videos hope to help students unravel the mystery and intricacies of Bach's genius at work.
