WIth all the railway boss themes that are kinda just creepy ambience, I was NOT expecting this song to transition into a half-electric half-metal power theme. Good stuff.
For an honest moment I was expecting a 3rd desperation phase. So naturally when the cutscene when I killed him played, I was expecting him to either remove the binds or break out of the egg. Overall I really liked this railway. Wasn't as painful as RR3 (apart from Jun) yet it didn't pull its punches either.
"HeHEAhahAhHa! No more... NO MORE I shall be bound to this accursed throne! Nor chains or bandages! I am your KING, and I shall force you heathens who had cursed me upon this throne to kneel before me! ONCE!! *MORE!!!*" - The King of Binds.
When I first saw the Phase 1&2 of the fight, the immediate first thing that came to mind was the fact that this guy is literally just stealing The Hanged King's drip and aesthetics
They both have similar color schemes, both are leaders, and hell, Outis thanks Dante for being an amazing leader at the end of the abnormality log. So yeah, it's very likely that it's their corresponding abnormality.
I always hated terminus OST in previous RRs. They are so blank and boring. But this... oh this... this is wonderful... YES! THIS IS WHAT MAKES THIS RR LINE ABSOLUTE PEAK AMONG ALL!
The point of the other OSTs was that you were fighting weird religion based abnos that you knew nothing about. The soundtracks really helped the ominous feeling of the final fights after beating all the previous fights, especially rr2.
Rather than "Ost to bop to", the previous RR final node has this feeling of "What the fuck am I witnessing" with how sparsely populated the tune is. Which fits with the religious theming of the abnormality. It's like if one of those "biblically accurate" angel were to descend, you won't hear some angelic music behind it, but silence with only noise coming from the angel itself.
@@remorelr2680 And to add on to this, it makes a lot of sense for a "king" type of abnormality to have a more extravagent theme, if only as a show of opulence and arrogance
There are 40-hour jrpgs that would KILL to have a final boss theme this good.

This is literally the best Refraction Railway final boss just for the 2nd phase theme alone, prove me wrong
hello welv, also yeah factually speaking king in binds is pretty much the best RR boss so far
and honestly RR4 is RR1 if it was actually good
how do you prove a fact wrong
After enduring hobo cliff 3rd distortion and reaching the king, this is our theme not his, the banquet shall we feast on!
For me, it’s because of Phase 1, it feels more imposing and ominous which fits for an honestly disturbing and imposing Abno
Welvader, you've already said that in like 2 other comment sections lol!
Everybody gangsta till the King in Binds breaks free
And then he immediately sits down for a break

it's.... just so peak...
2:06 - Theme of Final Boss getting out of the chair and taking off the kid gloves (even though the chair forces him to sit back down)
The king rises. Then 2 seconds later the bandages snap like a rubber band, throwing his Throne into his back, making him tumble down the stairs.
I was in tears once i cleared this RR. This theme and fight were beautiful. 98 turns!
I think the names roughly translate to “Hear the Poor” and “Vow of Misery”
Just finished the railway and came looking for this. Studio EIM doesn't fail to deliver at all.
Railway ending boss themes are composed by PM themselves, not EIM, iirc

At least this time Jun is countered by actually being able to ignore him.
Railway 2 gives me that 1000 yard stare.
rr3 wasnt too bad
