I turned off Starfield after fast traveling to the umpteenth location to have a 5 second interaction with a wax mannequin, just to fast travel to another location. Just couldn’t be bothered by it. I bought BG3 and fell in love with games again. Not going back to Starfield ever again.
Love your honest opinion, it simply makes sense, and good going for trying new things like Baldurs Gate, not many lads like yourself would give this sort of thing a go!

@@aggymattI can see it comes from a place of disappointment rather than anger 🤷♂️ it’s also an arrogant standpoint to rely on past laurels rather than innovate & progress & as fan of the franchises you want to be enthralled not disappointed!!! Not everything is going to be mindbending but it at least needs to be aiming upwards not laterally or sub optimally down 🤷♂️

The disappointment comes from being let down not just from 1 but 2 companies who’s games I love but 1 never delivers on promises and the other one just lies and wants more money out of average players. I’ll let you decided between which one is which. But yea disappointed rather than anger. The anger more from I felt robbed of £90 from a press conference full of lies then when the product came it was no where near what was promised or advertised.
Bethesda has just gone downhill like Rockstar, EA, Rare, Blizzard, etc.. Santa Monica, fromsoftware, and Larian are the only ones that have respect still
Tried starfield. On game pass luckily. It does look so dated. Character faces look awful. The story is all over the place and no emotion in any characters at all. Over 100 gig also to download. I think games where you can pick up everything including pots and pans feel so dated now. Can't tell the difference from loot and trash lol.
That really doesn’t surprise me mate from what I’ve seen of the gameplay and what my Mrs has played. It looks soulless. I can’t understand why it’s taken so many years to develop it when it doesn’t seem like anything new and far from what they promised … again

companies are not taking risks with doing new things, just doing the same thing. So exciting!!! yay we get the same thing because we know in the past the same thing worked... stuck in the past... just go support indie game studios who are ok with risking things.

Played Starfield for 20h, didn't liked it. Way too similar gameplay systems, like perks or how the character moves around for instance, to Fallout 4. But has less stuff that kind of made FO4 good enough like VATS and some specific perks that synergized with it, power armor and its modules, some specifics like stomping in power armor or pain train perk. Had many melee weapons, had unarmed weapons which not only you could upgrade but also have something to actually favorite. Starfield has boxing perk but to change from rifle to fists you have to pause game, go inventory and unequip weapon. Not to mention that FO4 and Skyrim had kill animations where you would see your character slitting throats or doing a wrestling takedown, like not that much but was adding to the feeling of playing a melee oriented character. Starfield is just a disappointment. And i was relived when i saw that i could still refund my early access purchase. Is not all bad, probably worth 30$, definitely not 70$ like they ask for standard or 100$ for the premium edition.

I’m still holding my breath on ES6 that got announced before starfield. I don’t think it’ll happen and if it does we got probably another decade to wait ⏱️
Problem with TES6 is if they copy pasted systems from FO4 to Starfield without any kind of improvement. And not just that but also cut some of the content that made FO4 kind of work too. Like all within a completely new IP that one would expect to feel entirely different not the same but worse compared to past games. I'll bet is quite probable that TES6 might follow the same rehash approach which could make it overall quite bad too and not much more than some heavily modded Skyrim.
Bg3 is fuckin incredible 80 hours in and I'm only starting act 3. And I've been sucked in the whole time. I can't wait to start over as an evil character
Same here mate. I’m only 40 hours in and I’m still in Act 1 🤣 I’m obsessed with it, completely immersed. I’m doing the same with a dark urge character on second play through 🙌🏻

I couldn't even play Fallout 4. I tried. Gave it a good 50 hours. But. Eh. Trash. Oblivion was the last good game they made. Skyrim, with a billion mods, sure, is also great. But not because of anything bethesda has made =))
fallout 4 was the end for me, seeing what they did to 76 was painful. I expected no different from starfield.

I absolutely love BG3 mate and like you. It’s made me fall in love with videos games again. Elden Ribg did that for me as well
I think we all thought that Larian would have a tough time competing with a Bethesda launch.
Yet here I am, still thinking about Baldurs Gate 3.

I actually hear the true bethesda fans who like oblivion/morrowind and hate skyrim/post skyrim games actually say starfield is a good game.
