Looks great and the carved roots look more and more natural. I can't avoid giggling for myself when you said something along the line that you worked on it for about 10 years.... 😄 Yeah that is perhaps seen as a looong time for those who just begun doing bonsai. The encouraging thing with bonsai for me is that you are never "finished" and it is a living thing which you care about and I can just loose myself gaze at them and study the structure etc.
Oh my, I'd love to adopt 2 of the kittens! Too bad you're living at the other side of the world This ficus is probably my favourite "transforming" bonsai you have. After pruning you can really see how great the core structure is and it's such an improvement over whatever you can buy from the mall.
Nice work on tree as usual. Still amazed at how fast your trees grow. We dont have raccoons here.they are so cute but will they be not doing damage knocking over your trees ect when they get bigger?
Good morning, the pruning, 20 min in, has created more space and interest. There are more defined planes moving front to back for the eye to move through. Have you ever considered a different front? The left side had nice form and flow! Great progress!
do you have some tips for getting specimens from nursery stock? Ive been looking at some nurseries but was wondering if I should be looking for something in particular. Ive been looking at Boxwoods and even a shrub called a Razzleberri Fringe flower that looks like it's cascading a bit. Anyways, love your videos!
It's always good to try interesting species, I generally bare root my nursery stock and put the tree in bonsai soil as the first step. I also try and do some root pruning, just to get the radial root base under way.
I'm not sure those bulbous roots will ever look good I'm afraid. Maybe you could just airlayer directly above and generate a new root plane and an even more compact tree.
Loving the Kitten Zone!
My favorite place to be too!!!
Catching up on videos while cleaning my aquariums. Watching & listening. Super cool tree with some master pruning.
Ordinary ginseng ficus to a very bonsai with a nice looking base

Thanks, it's definitely making progress!!

They don't seem to go near the benches luckily, they just disappear into the forest at night! Thanks Chris!!

It would be tough to change the front, I'd have to go with a different pot I think, but it's always a possibility!
love your videos, I believe its is illegal to keep or rehabilitate raccoons without a permit.
❤😊
Thanks Penny!!!
👍👌👌
Nice work Nigel. 👍 But I get worried always when my temperature get to 40 degrees , and I have just Adenium and Ficus trees there.
The trees seem fine, as long as I keep them well watered and misted!!
did we work on that tree two years ago when I was there?
Yes, that is the tree you helped me prune up on your visit!!! See you soon Dave!!!

salutations! Mes figuiers, les branches déjà formées sèchent toujours, qu'est-ce que ça peut être ?

Time will tell, the tree seems to send out aerial roots every now and then, so the root base could change over the upcoming years!
Foist.
Nice!
