"Don't Don" was released in 2007 (Super Junior debuted in 2005) and it is the first and last time we see all 14 members of Super junior together in one MV (Super Junior's 15th member Zhoumi, had not debuted with the group yet.) It's one of the last few MVs where we see Kibum and the very first MV where we see Henry introduced as the "mysterious violin player." Henry is super Junior's Maknae and he is a member of Super Junior-M (Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit.) What you just saw was what Henry is known for. He is an amazing musician, singer and dancer -- and he can do it all at the same time. :D I also, recommend checking out one of their live performances of "Don't Don" which features Henry and Zhoumi in the song. My fav performances of "Don't Don" live were the ones from Super Show 3 that had Henry on electric violin, Zhoumi as the rock vocal, Jongmo from Trax on electric guitar and Heechul on the drums, ua-cam.com/video/wliyKLNgVOU/v-deo.html. Henry and Zhoumi aren't usually allowed to perform with the full group of Super Junior, because they are only Super Junior-M members, so it's really special when we get a chance to see all the members performing together. Another great performance they did is at an SMTown Concert and it features Changmin(Max) from TVXQ and Jay and Jongmo from Trax performing with SJ (with Heechul on the drums again). Changmin's vocals in this song are unbelievable -- he will make you speechless. Here is the performance with Changmin and members of SM's Idol band Trax: ua-cam.com/video/4LR1bDpUcYc/v-deo.html. But I really hope you watch at least the one with Zhoumi and Henry so you can see SuJu all together. The only sad thing is, you only see Zhoumi and Henry for like a minute in the live performance of "Don't Don" and then they are tucked away backstage again after their brief appearance in this song. Henry and Zhoumi are only considered part of SMTown's collaboration for this song not actually part of SJ even though that concert performance was in 2011 and Zhoumi and Henry were a part of SJ-M for about 3 years at that point. It's kind of sad to see how much those two really want to be on stage performing with the rest of the members, but in the early days they spent most of the time during SuJu concerts backstage waiting for the 10 minutes where they were allowed to come out and perform 2 or 3 solo songs and then have to go back stage again to wait for the 2 or 3 exclusive SJ-M songs they performed. They're two of the most talented members of SJ and yet they are never given the chance to shine on stage the way they should, and unless you are a true ELF, most people don't even know they exist. As you can see, Henry is a music genius and he can really play that violin while dancing like that. He was classically trained in violin and piano since the age of 6 and he had plans to go to college to study classical music. But the year he graduated high school he auditioned for SM Entertainment, when they held auditions in Canada and he impressed them so much with his violin dance routine that they signed him right away. (After joining SM and debuting with SJM he did end up going to college. He got a full-ride scholarship to Berklee School of Music in New York and he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in music.) To see Henry's violin dance better check out his solo performance around this same time on a Chinese variety show, ua-cam.com/video/gYx6NjDiMVU/v-deo.html, (it's a fancam so it shouldn't give you any problems to react to it.) This performance was shortly after Super junior-M's debut and it was part of their first round of Chinese promotions. So it has a lot of the same elements as his "Don't Don" part. And it's actually the routine he auditioned for SM with. So you will see why SM fell in love with him and It will give you a chance to see his skills up close. PLEASE check it out. :D Henry was one of the Kpop industry's very first foreign artists, and he only trained for about a year before he debuted in Super Junior -- and that was only because he needed to learn Korean and become more proficient in Mandarin. Henry's official debut was a year later in 2008 as a member of Super Junior-M, so he has been a famous musician, artist, entertainer, producer, etc. for more than 13 years now. Now, before someone says "Henry is not a part of Super Junior any more," I want to point out that it has never officially been said that Henry has left Super Junior. Yes, he left SM in 2018 when his contract was up after 10 years, and started his own independent company called Monster Entertainment Group, but that doesn't necessarily mean he left the group. Some true fans are holding out hope that this means he still may collaborate with SJ on projects in the future. (He is still living and working in Korea and he is still in contact with all the SJ members, etc. Plus, Super Junior has their own music label so they are more free to collaborate and work with whomever they want.) After all, the 3 members of Girls' Generation who left SM have said they would like to do something similar in the future. That's why when Girls Generation made their most recent comeback they did it as a sub-unit Oh!GG, because they weren't the full group. And even Taecyeon from 2PM left JYP Entertainment, but his new company has partnered with JYP to allow Taecyeon to continue activities with 2PM. So, it looks more promising all the time that if Henry ever wanted to do something with SJ again, he could. After all, Henry is one of Lee SooMan's (SM's) favorite people. (Even though SM may have never allowed Henry to reach his full potential under them, which is part of the reason why he left the company. But I don't think there was any bad blood between them when he left, and he has always been one of SM's most prized artists for the amount of talent he has.) In 2008, when SM announced the addition of Henry and Zhoumi (two Chinese members) to Super Junior's group and the creation of Super Junior-M -- which was designed to create music in Mandarin for the Chinese music industry -- Korean fans protested. Some fans were against adding any new members to Super Junior (which already had 13 members). So the Korean fans forced SM to agree to only make Henry and Zhoumi members of Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit (they needed more Chinese members to make the Chinese sub-unit work), and they were not allowed to be included in anything to do with the main group of Super Junior. So, when not doing activities with Super Junior-M, Henry and Zhoumi also became some of SM's first members of an active group to go solo. Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian and he can play almost any instrument. He really is a music genius. He speaks 4 languages fluently -- English, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese -- and he speaks numerous other languages moderately well. He works really hard to speak to fans in their native language so he has learned a lot of languages over the past 13 years. Henry was the first of SM's foreign artists to be allowed to do solo projects. He is 32 years old now and he is the youngest member of Super Junior -- he debuted when he was 18 years old. And, not only is he a musician, but as you saw, he is also known as a really good dancer. Henry also is an accomplished music producer. He has wrote, composed and produced all his own solo work, as well as numerous songs for other artists and Korean- and Chinese-drama and movie OSTs. One of Henry's last solo song releases under SM is called "Monster," which is one of my favorite songs from 2018. He has an English version of "Monster" MV, a Chinese "Monster" MV and a Korean audio only version of "Monster." His most recent album Journey with his song "Radio" was released in 2020. It also has an English, Korean and Mandarin version. Please see the rest of my comment attached in the reply.
Henry is also one of the top variety show guests in Korea and China. Everyone wants him on their program because they know he will bring them a lot of ratings. He spends most of his career traveling back and forth from Korea and China on almost a weekly bases because he is involved in so many different projects. He even broke into the U.S. entertainment industry in 2019 when he starred in the Hollywood movie "A Dog's Journey" alongside famous American actors, such as Dennis Quaid.
Now as an independant solo artist, Henry has launched his own UA-cam Channel and he releases weekly content and has become one of the most popular Kpop artists on UA-cam. He is internationally loved and he is constantly winning awards, such as artist of the year in Thailand a few years ago -- and what is especially notable about that, is the fact that all his work is in Korean, Mandarin or English, he hasn't done anything in Thai. However, they love him because he has managed to endear himself with audiences and fans from around the world. Please check out more of Henry's work both new and old. If you want to see what type of musical and entertainment genius he is you should watch this clip, ua-cam.com/video/vAyAD2R1Apc/v-deo.html. It's a clip from a special project/ variety show that Henry, did along with Mark from NCT, in collaboration with SM Entertainment and Mystic Entertainment, called "The Snowball Project" and on the program Henry was challenged to play multiple instruments from around the world which he had never seen or played before. And, as you will see, within minutes Henry was able to pick up the instrument, figure out how to play the notes and play a song on the spot. But I could go on for days about Henry and I could recommend hundreds of clips and programs that he has been on that would impress you even more. He really is an entertainment genius, and on top of all that, he is also a trained chef and can cook as well as a professional. He starred in a Taiwanese movie where he played a culinary genius, and the producer wanted him to look as authentic as possible, so Henry spent 3 months training under a famous chef and learned a lot of amazing cooking techniques. He has participated in numerous cooking competitions and cooking based variety shows and his skill has impressed even professional cooks. Henry's fans are called Strings because of his classical music background and his UA-cam channel followers are Henemies (sp.?). As you can see by the way I gush, Henry is my ultimate bias, and Super Junior is one of my bias groups, so sorry if I come off kind of strong with my passion and love. LOL
Fun fact: You only see Kyuhyun once in a closeup in the "Don't Don" MV and he only has one solo line in the song, because this was the first MV he participated in after Super Junior's car accident where he literally almost died, and he was still recovering. About 6 months before "Don't Don" came out, Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun were all going home together late at night -- driven by their manager -- after their weekly radio show Super Junior Kiss the Radio, when their van blew a tire and the vehicle flipped. Shindong and Eunhyuk had minor injuries and Leeteuk had a large cut on his head that required several stitches and was briefly knocked unconscious. Kyuhyun's injuries, however, were life-threatening. He was thrown from the van and he broke several ribs which punctured his lung He was in a coma for about 3 days and doctors weren't sure he would live. In order to save his life, doctors wanted to perform surgery on his throat, which would have ended his singing career. But luckily his father stepped in and advocated for him, demanding that the doctors come up with a different way to save his life that didn't destroy his dream of being a singer. (Kyuhyun had only just debuted a little less than a year before the accident) In what Kyuhyun describes as a miracle, there just so happened to be an expert doctor at the hospital that was willing to try an experimental procedure where they ended up going in through his side instead. However, Kyuhyun now has a large scar on his side from the surgery, so this is one of the reasons why you will never see him with his shirt off or showing off his body, like the rest of the members. He says his scar reminds everyone of what he went through and he doesn't want people to feel sorry for him or sad, so he keeps it covered. To really understand what Super Junior went through during this time, you need to watch this clip of them on the Korean Variety show "Strong Heart" where Kyuhyun tells the story of their accident and everything they went through in his own words, ua-cam.com/video/ZsJy_UvtG2o/v-deo.html.
Both Sungmin and Kangin were in Mamacita mv - Kangin had the watermelon and a long hair blond wig, Sungmin had bangs so long his eyes were hidden and his hair was also blond with undercolour black. Kibum was the only rapper you didn't recognize in Don't Don (rap line was Eunhyuk, Shindong, Kibum with assist raps from Leeteuk and Heechul). Sungmin in Don't Don had blond hair half shaved, Kangin had shaved dark hair with pattern clipping in it, Hangeng had fluffy blond hair (the other blond besides Kyuhyun and Sungmin). Heechul does have two harder songs: in his group M & D with his friend Kim Jungmo (from TRAX) they've a song/mv Close UR Mouth (featuring visual cameos from other friends who are artists on other labels, which at the time was a bit shocking), and a collab song/mv he did with his other friend Def Conn (who is a variety show host now), called King Wang Zzang. Features a loud motorcycle and a pixelated finger, lol. I personally love both songs! Don't Don is not only my favourite Super Junior song, it is the song that made me an ELF and it is my all time favourite song of any language (the lyrics cemented this for me), ousting my previous favourite song, which was my number one song for 37 years of my life. I found Super Junior late in life - I was 39 when Don't Don grabbed hold of me on January 21st, 2010 (yes it was significant enough to recall the exact date, lol). I'm an OT15 ELF and Don't Don was only missing Zhoumi (I head canon he was on a coffee run and missed the video shoot - haha!). What I wouldn't give for an all 15 members performance of this BUT Zhoumi did perform this with them live in SS3 (while some members were in military, though so not 15 then, either) partial URL here to copy/paste into youtube URL watch?v=wliyKLNgVOU . ~FM :)
I completely forgot about Henry! I know I haven't really mentioned him on my channel, but ice seen him in so many videos, I know him more than some of the other SuJu members now
The video was re-uploaded in 2009. The song is from 2007. The one you first said was Kibum was Sungmin. Kyuhyun was just back from his accident with Don't Don so his chest was still hurting when he sang.
Oh yes, the video format: you may have missed that that was the norm for videos back then? The video that can be seen now is a reupload because SM Town did something (I heard all videos were deleted from the channel) so that the song (and probably also the image material) are from 2007. And i don't think that there was a lot done in the two years on UA-cam.
One of my best /av songs from SuJu till this day. I've recommended this song to you soooooo many times I am so happy now. Hangeng 03.32 is a wayyyyy talented dancer. In the original line he was the main dancer with Eunhyuk -first ever foreign/Chinese member in Kpop. Also the original leader of SuJu-M. He had to go through lots of hardship bec of a ban on Chinese people appearing on TV in 2000s and SM unfair and poor management system on idols and their health made him run away from S.Korea and SM and he filed a law suit. He was the first member to leave. Kibum 03.44 is a rapper. He debuted as an actor even before SuJu he was never confident in his vocal line. But he was the visual line with Siwon and Heechul. (Original rap line is Eunhyuk>Kibum>Shindong). He was never very active in the group as always wanted to be an actor not a singer and his too introverted personality didn't fit being an idol. He's the secong member to leave the group. Henry 4.17 was a member of SuJu-M. Actually he was considered to be an original member to be added after Kyuhyun as today's NCT.And this was introduction to public with his violin solo. But there were many big protests by fans he wasn't included in the original group but only to SuJu-M but as a real music genious he's as he couldn't promote much in Korea with his music he left SM when his 10year contract ended. Still one of Lee SooMan's fave kids. Now he has his own one man agency. 3rd to leave. Kangin 05.08 is the one with raspy jazzy voice. For me it's impossible not to recognize his voice. He was the manly visual and was called the dad of the group who disciplines the members when they didn't obey mama Leeteuk. He's well-known for his endless love for Leeteuk. But actually he's a softie. My fav voice in SuJu after Yesung but unfortunately had to leave the group. He didn't want to leave , members didn't want him to leave but not to cause any more damage to group and members he decided to leave.4th to leave Sungmin 03.22 was a musical theater major so he's originally the 4th in vocal line after KRY.He's acted in musicals. But he has been in hiatus bec of dellusional fans since he got married yet still a part of SuJu. It's been 8th years his last comeback with the group was Mamacita. He had solos in the recet years but I still think it's unfair. The brute vocals/death growls are by Heechul. He was actually to be a vocalist to a rock-band but ended up being SuJu sub-vocal and sub-rapper.He was actually in dance line before his accident. He loved rock/metal/Jrock back then. Unfortunately he even vomited blood many times during live promotions bec of these growls. ** I also, recommend checking out one of their live performances of "Don't Don" which features Henry and Zhoumi in the song. 4:33 thats Henry. That was sort of the introduction of a new super junior member (who then went under Super Junior M), for me personally it was a surprise to see him here, since I already knew him from his violin covers on UA-cam.
Legends 🔥👑 *Don't Don* was one of the first korean songs I really loved. ❤️ Check out the lyrics, it's a deep song. It talks about money and corruption
This is on of my favorite Suju tittle tracks. You should check out Heechul's band it is called M&D He has got 2 mini albums one is called Cottage Industry and the other is Goody Bag. He sings in different genres in both and there is one that is similar to Don't Don it's called "No Dap". Also he was featured in a Rock band song called "Melody" By Eve

Glad to see this reacted, not enough rock concepts so I hope this is revisited in the future. The violinist is named Henry Lau of Super Junior - M but he has left the label some years ago. The Korean version and mandarin one are played a lot on my running playlist. Take care 👍🏾
HELLO, I HOPE YOU ARE IN GOOD HEALTH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTIONS TO OUR SUPER JUNIOR KINGS. CAN YOU PLEASE REACT TO (One More Chance)' MV. THIS SONG WAS COMPOSED BY DONGHAE FOR ELF. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXCELLENT WORK. TAKE CARE. ELF SUPPORTING YOUR WORK.
Hello greetings. Thank you for your reaction to our super junior.👑💙🌎 Thank you for your work. this year we will have the return of super junior and big bang
yes its always unfair for shindong in the early era like less line, less screen time. aside from the group concept at that time (the temporary thing) i think its also bcs SM is just bad at it lol. its not only SJ, other group with more than 5 members would be a bit mess in their early years.
What about Yesung? You can always hear him in all the early tracks providing a lot of background vocals, but he only got a little more screen time than Shindong.
thanks for the reaction !! the screaming/ growls were done by heechul. He once mentioned that because he had to scream so much during promotions, he vomited blood often. There's also a short clip from rehersals when someone caught it on camera. It was a little shocking because everyone just continued dancing as if nothing happened. "U" got remastered recently so you should definitely check it out ^^
we ELF want a colab between heechul and yesung in a rock song , yesung did one Japaness song rock called wherever you are ua-cam.com/video/tFvaugfTk9U/v-deo.html love your reaction by the way 💙
@V3actions yesung did it once with a Korean song ua-cam.com/video/NB69J7xzIs8/v-deo.html And the other one he made it Rock ballad 👆 (the one i shared on the comment below). Check it 👌😊 I think you will love it
ua-cam.com/video/Vf1KIRye4X0/v-deo.html está canción es una de mis preferidas y en especial este stage se quedo en mi corazón 💙 espero y lo disfrutes igual que yo. Saludos

🤣🤣🤣
He reminded me more of visual kei. That was the start for me to explore kpop, which I was interested in jpop/jrock before.

Henry, the mysterious guy with the violin, Super Junior M member
He didn't want to leave , members didn't want him to leave but not to cause any more damage to group and members he decided to leave.4th to leave
Sungmin 03.22 was a musical theater major so he's originally the 4th in vocal line after KRY.He's acted in musicals.
Henry and Zhoumi aren't usually allowed to perform with the full group of Super Junior, because they are only Super Junior-M members, so it's really special when we get a chance to see all the members performing together.
i really love this song and i hope super junior make another song like this 💙💙💙
4:33 thats Henry. That was sort of the introduction of a new super junior member (who then went under Super Junior M), for me personally it was a surprise to see him here, since I already knew him from his violin covers on UA-cam.
Yes! I'm familiar with Henry, and he's one of my favorite celebrities in Korea now. Just couldn't recognize him because of the lower resolution
Legends 🔥👑 *Don't Don* was one of the first korean songs I really loved. ❤️ Check out the lyrics, it's a deep song. It talks about money and corruption
💙👑💙
Thank you so much for reacting to SuJu Don’t Don!!! This vibe suits them well!!! All is good here!!!

He has got 2 mini albums one is called Cottage Industry and the other is Goody Bag.

Take care 👍🏾
the one who plays the violin is Henry Lau, he's a member of super junior-m.. the first K-Pop idol from Canada
Yes! I'm familiar with Henry and am already a fan! Just because the video is older and the resolution a lot lower, I didn't recognize him 😥

Eyy thats my fave SJ song
you should check out heechul in MASKED SINGER he sang all rock song there,,, hes masked was generation X,,,
ohhh i miss that and i miss your reaction 😍💙✌🏻
💙💙💙
yes its always unfair for shindong in the early era like less line, less screen time. aside from the group concept at that time (the temporary thing) i think its also bcs SM is just bad at it lol. its not only SJ, other group with more than 5 members would be a bit mess in their early years.
What about Yesung? You can always hear him in all the early tracks providing a lot of background vocals, but he only got a little more screen time than Shindong.
@@kl2894 thats why i said SM was bad with line or screentime distribution for large group
thanks for the reaction !!
the screaming/ growls were done by heechul. He once mentioned that because he had to scream so much during promotions, he vomited blood often. There's also a short clip from rehersals when someone caught it on camera. It was a little shocking because everyone just continued dancing as if nothing happened.
"U" got remastered recently so you should definitely check it out ^^
Glad he's not really doing it anymore and it didn't have long lasting damage!
Thanks for this reaction
i also want to know who was doing the screams in the background at the end
I subscribe ^^
💙💙 I've been told it's HeeChul doing the screams but he did it so much that he'd cough up blood sometimes
@@V3actions ah i see
i think i've seen a video about him coughing blood
