The way he used the colours to bring back coloured vision is the same way how people used to convert old Black and white photos in colour in early days.
Imagine if this was a real treatment where the doctor just takes coloured transparent paper and shine a very VERY bright light. Would be very easy to fix colour blindness and you wont even need to see a doctor anymore
