The ECU2 and 3 are made so that you can install the (complete) kit without a PC! With a pc there is no difference between the ecu's (except for the extra 500rpm) . Ignition timing was no problem according to the expert(s). Needed to be sure this was ok before installing the camshafts. There can always be a pc installed that supported ignition timing, only it would cost lot more ^^
Actually it improves the low rpm engine performance by acting as a resonator, comparable to 2 stroke exhaust systems: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-stroke_power_valve_system

The exup-valve and lambda sensor are only installed to be environmentally.

Have you ever tried to read the Stage II data and transfer to Stage I? My piasini(clone) does not seem to read the ECU at all.
There is a guy on the German forum who can do that for you. Making the software on your StageI same as StageII
