I cant say I blame you, I like the jump pack as an example of what a mkvi style pack looks like as it reminds me of the old metal chaos raptor pack, but otherwise the model sucks ass.
Honestly what I did with that model was I just made him a Jump Pack character. Replaced the MKVI head and shoulder pads with the MKII ones you get with vehicles, then I cut off the ruined masonry he was leaping off of and glued him to the base. Looked pretty solid to me as a nameless character.
@@ghost5780 I did a similar thing. I trimmed his base so he was standing more straight up and down, gave him simpler pauldrons, and use him as my Jump Praetor. It's a great base for bashing.
There was a BA Tactical kit for sale once upon a time, which was removed from sale some time (years?) ago, for reasons I have no idea about. It had a plethora of bits and combined perfectly with the Mk.III and Mk.IV kits - you know, back when most Marine kits were cross-compatible.
Sanguinius' pose is inspired by "Michael the Archangel" and other paintings, so I get why he's posed in the way he is, but I do agree the leg pose could be better - it's one of those things were GW has tried to reference something but ends up fecking it up anyway.
I'm not a huge fan of many parts of the blood angels set, but for the grey Knight elements to their aesthetics there is a story of Malcador's cronies taking a bunch of gear from Baal to use for the grey knights, so it makes some sense that elements look sort of proto GK.
It sounds like Horus Heresy suffers from the same issue 40k used to where you only really got some options. They have resolved that in 40k by removing options which I think was a shame really.

I would absolutely love to see some new showcase videos from you, like your White Scars “Sagyar Mazan” and Iron Hands videos. Your conversion work on the Angel’s Tears is something that I’m dying to see, and after a forced hiatus of a few months would be a fantastic inspiration for restarting my hobby life. Just an idea, I enjoy all of your videos as they are, anyway. And if I hadn’t mentioned it before, I really like the new intro. If asked, it wasn’t an issue I ever considered, but since it’s been updated, it’s been a nice change. Have a great weekend 👍🏻
Have to say I love the older legion heads, ordered a bunch of those same ones you liked with the teardrop and closed helm to convert up some of my own Angels' Tears - using the MKII chest pieces from the tank upgrade sprues and some Sanguinary Guard bits plus some old rotor cannons to use as Illiastus assault cannons. I do like Zephon though. Sounds like he's not very lore-accurate but I like the model anyway.
I am generally a bit more on the positive side of things that you seem to be.....but yeah this is one of those cases I fully agree with you. The only good model here is Raldoran.
I don't agree at all with your evaluation of the dawn breakers, your comparison with grey knights is just 'these are just grey knights except everything about them is different!' and I believe Rubio took some gear from baal before going back to malcador for the knight-errant project so there is even a lore reason those heads look a little similar
@20:00 but then GW is doing the thing now, where you can only equip what’s in the box and the boxes are becoming ever-more limited. Imo this is worse than having rules for multiple things and not having it all in the box (especially now that 3D printing means spare bitz are easy to source)
That's just for 40k thankfully though - Horus Heresy I'm pretty sure has an absolute TON of units and wargear options you need to convert. Same with things like Necromunda where the latest core rulebook actively encourages you to convert and create things.
I actually like the fact that FW is making characters in different pattern of termi armour than legion specific unit. Idk if it is their reasoning, but it is easier to convert your characters this way. You want to run your hq with tartaros? Here is BA specific tartaros praetor. You want to run them in cataphractii? Well, we dont have specific sculpt for cataphractii praetor but we do have Crimson paladins, you can convert one of those if you really need. If praetor was in the same armour as paladins, sure, they work togather well. But what if you want to run your hq with tartaros Command Squad? Then you have to bling up a basic bitch tartaros. Again, I am not saying this is FW reason, but I personally am happy that they do this.
For those asking about Zephon...
I have not a single kind thing to say, so I am saying nothing at all.

It was nice of GW to make a whole range for Emperors Children conversions

Never forget how they decided to shove all this ridiculous cutting down people’s throats and then the people gobbled it up and asked for more.

"I'm not a fan of that trim" Macca 2023 😂😂😂

Hey Macca, appreciate you addressing the mk6, I can see where you’re coming from more now.
Looking forward to the Ultramarines one!
The BA, WS and SW all felt rushed

Regarding the Crimson Paladins, they do come with 5 shields and 5 sword arms, but the rest you said about them i agree with.
But why do you left Zephon?
I hoped for a book vs sculpt controversy)
Love ya work Macca
That mk6 bare head is pretty decent. Kind of reminds me of Boromir Bean.
A disturbing lack of Dominion Zephon controversy, Macca. I was hoping for a “it’s a nice MKVI model, it’s a terrible Zephon model” ❤
I don't play 30k, don't collect it either (for wow at least).
But I really enjoy your breakdowns for this series.
Cheers mate!

You should showcase your armies, they Sound like they were a lot of work
He does, there are videos on here and they instagram

The angel's tears helmets make for great Sunkiller heads
The Crimson Paladins skipped legday

aye, I'm sort of glad GW give less of a shit about Necormunda

New opening has grown on me. I can hear the salt before Maccas mic comes through.
The Crimson Paladins wear bell bottoms
Don’t like BA but gotta watch!
The Sanguinius pose is poorly thought out, balance is terrible.
BA are so damn pricy
