CSX is my hometown Railroad because I live in Jacksonville Florida. The CSX headquarters. The CSX mainline is right behind my neighborhood. There’s also a Norfolk Southern Line in front of my house that leads in to NS Simpson yard in JAX. But CSX is more busy here in JAX from mainline freight to even local freight. We’re like the cargo river city. It’s crazy man.
Another fantastic video!!!! I've always remembered CSX and it's first color scheme and later the more current one and it's really cool and I especially like all the different horns it has!!! Great video!!!! :) +CoasterFan2105
Boy those K5LA whistles sure are popular. Practically all of these locos on this video use them. Heard a couple K5LLAs in there too. Very enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
For many years, the K5LA was the standard whistle for all CSX locos. It was in 2005, when the FRA bowed to people complaining about the so-called noise and created the discordant K5HL, which is now the mandatory standard on all GE locos, sadly.
Cool! I love railfanning Harper's Ferry, which was included in this video. Other CSX lines are also fun to railfan! Living in Northern Virginia means living near many railroads, including the CSX RF&P Subdivision.
Chessie System & Seaboard Coastine merged together & made CSX. The X is a multiplication symbol meaning with those two companies together, they're so much more. Same thing happened with Burlington Northern & Santa Fe which made BNSF.
Nice video and fantastic scenery! The east coast seems like a beautiful place to railfan. Just FYI, both Union Pacific Winter Olympic Units are in SoCal right now. I hope you get a chance to catch at least one of them!
you should make a train talk video on the entire northeast corridor, like the commuter rails which run on it, the Amtrak lines on it, the csx, and more!
Another excellent rendition Mike, thanks. What I particularly like is that you rarely dwell on an endless stream of trucks. It would be interesting to know some of the locations of your shoots, not that I can get there being a retired Brit living in Spain. However, I did opt to study North American geography when given the choice at school. Keep up the good work, your production rank as some of the best.
Yayyyy!!!! I have been waiting forever for this video and it’s finally here!! CSX has always been my favorite railroad. Question will you do new river gorge trains?
I went to the New River Gorge on my last trip, but I didn't have it in time to put into this video. I don't have enough really to make a stand alone video, but I hope to eventually!
You remind me of Trainandhawksfan17: "...I've been waiting for this moment for months and it's FINALLY HERE! I am FINALLY GONNA GET A HERITAGE UNIT ON CAMERA!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Dear coasterfan, hi its me Alyssa! I think your videos are so cool I've been watching you since I was 9 years old. Every morning back in 3rd grade my dad would put your videos on for me and I would always run to the computer to watch. Can you try Amtrak trains please? Thanks! From your now 18 year old fan, Alyssa
CSX stands for (C)hessie (S)eaboard Multiplied (X), Chessie Seaboard Multiplied. It was originally created as a holding corperation in 1980 as a merger between Chessie System and Seaboard Coastline Industries. The railroad that we know today as CSX Transportation, was formed in 1986 with the mergers of the Chessie System (C&O, B&O, WM) and Seaboard System Railroad.
@@CoasterFan2105 yw my dad would put them on for me cause he knows I like trains btw I'm sick today can you send a video to make me feel better? From Alyssa
That's awesome. I live within a mile of a historic C&O line that's now CSX. It only sees about 10 trains a day though, so catching one is nearly impossible without a scanner, a scanner of which I don't have.
The train at 1:04 is there a bell on the train? Also how many times so they need to blast their horns? The train by my house is holding the horn down blasting for like 20 seconds lol
The CSX painting is beautiful, and getting dirt on it makes it look better.
Yeah but idk about mud

CSX is such a great freight railroad, They have some cool units like 3194 which I saw leading an empty coal train symboled E770
Chessie System & Seaboard Coastine merged together & made CSX. The X is a multiplication symbol meaning with those two companies together, they're so much more. Same thing happened with Burlington Northern & Santa Fe which made BNSF.
Wonderful video! I live right next to CSX tracks! CSX is quite popular in NC!
P42 Amtrak Railfan I live in NC too and I thought N.S. was popular in NC
Jordan Trivett you are right. NS is popular in some areas of NC. CSX is also popular in parts of NC including Selma.

Here's the real question. What does CSX stand for?
Paul is correct. It is sometimes said that the "X" stands for e(X)press.
I just like the shots of the csx gevos that are painted dark blue paint schemes
Never gets boring.!!

I like the color of the CSX train😅
I do too!
I live "near" 2 CSX main lines. The former ACL and SAL lines.
Awesome! Do a lot of trains run on those lines?
Not that much near me. Once you get north, near Hilliard, FL and Folkston, GA, they get up to 60 trains.
Nobody sprays on the chemical gas tank trailer.😁
I love Trains
Sick train vids
Nice Video Mike
3:40 sounds like NHN 3825
Beautiful!!
nice!

Amazing video, Can you do the trains to Denver
"A line train"
Well, I will be back in Denver very soon, so that is a possibility!

Yeah, they don't seem to run them too often.

Kind of. View out a window with a "vignette" filter around the edge.
Were you able to find schedules for the trains if so could you tell me where to find them

Nice video! I have a video of the CSX Blueridge Sub in 2007 that my friend made. Was the blueridge included in this video?
Thanks! No Blue Ridge Sub in this video, but hopefully I'll get to go there some time!
