As for Solanke will be interesting to see what happens. He has only had one good season. He could be another Richy situation. What ever Spurs do it will be interesting

haha, i know right, just like trusting solanke to lead the line, trusting bara bet free picks feels like a gamble on top of a gamble. i mean, they’re popular for a reason, but doesn't mean they’ll always hit the target! gotta keep that skepticism game strong, folks! 🎯🚶‍♂️

Welcome back, Ali. I like Solanke. He does fit what Ange wants from his Striker. He’s also homegrown, another plus. I want us to keep Richy and give him this season so we can have two Strikers. If we let him go, we’d be back to square one needing yet another Striker. If Richy doesn’t pan out this season, we can let him go next season. Thanks for the video. COYS!

Your mention of the players being jaded from the pre-season tour - completely agree. I think, although it was a pretty lanky first half, it's completely reasonable for them to have definitive and noticeable levels of fatigue at this stage. Training in 95F + temps for nearly two weeks? It's intentional, and similar to what my old swim coach did for my team and I prior to a higher level of competition. We did what we called a 'hell week,' which involved about 40% more training volume and distances in the water, which was incredibly difficult and exhaustive, but followed by a period of generalized training that allows significant recovery. It created an amazing quick spurt of energy and growth in the muscle tissue, and helped us to generate a lot more intensity in the following weeks of State and National competition. It was a friendly, and people put too much weight into it. Your mention, or Ange's comment, (can't remember at this point) of the fact that current players from last season are improving - absolutely spot on. Growth has to occur within the squad for us to come out on top, and for some fans to expect a massive change in performance from one players arrival is just comical. In reality, I love Ange's training philosophy, and am very excited to see the players start the season, following their return from abroad. It's going to be an exciting season.

Hi Ali, one for an upcoming Q&A or just something to think out loud about, have the links to Marcus Edwards and Kyoe Walker Peters gone quiet? With it looking likely now that Skippy leaves, we're left desperately short on club-trained players for our European squad this year, and it doesnt seem theres much talk of a deal for either player despite links to wingers and fullbacks.

Put out, Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t see one video or image of Dane Scarlet where he looked happy. I wonder if he feels he’s being eclipsed by younger guys especially after Mourhino really built him up when he was manager. A lot of fans are complaining about the transfer window, but it seems like many clubs are moving cautiously, it seems no one wants to risk paying too much for a player and getting burned if it doesn’t work out. I don’t envy Ange having to decide which of the younger players to keep around and which ones to try and send out on loan, while at the same time trying to bring in some new players - particularly a striker. I do worry that Ange is still peddling the “no quick fix” line - so does that mean another season bereft of trophies? I say pay the release clause and get Solanke - someone who is home grown and proven in the PL. I just hope we don’t end up with a typical Levy bargain-basement signing!

To be honest if James Maddison hadn't done that first press conference I wouldn't have even noticed he was even on the tour he was pretty much invisible. The youngsters were the complete opposite to Maddison, most of them were really impressive and should be giving Ange something think about before spending money some of the people being mentioned in the press, I certainly don't see the point to signing Scott McTominay who is being talked about a lot. I was happy to see Archie Gray doing so well I think he'll be replacing Bissouma by the end of the season Djed Spence was also a happy surprise did well glad Genoa thought 8 million was too much. Was sad Dane Scarlett didn't get more time but I suspect he'll be going out on a loan now, same with Veliz but I hope Donley, Devine and Moore get to stay around with the first team. Curious to know what we're going to do about another CB for the new season as there has been no rumours about transfers and Ashley Phillips is currently injured. As for Ivan Toney the catch for me is that he's got a gambling addiction and if he gets done again he'll be banned for at least a year possibly longer, why risk money on a player like that? I've been a Spurs fan for nine years, but it certainly seems like it hasnt been long enough to become chronically pessimistic as some of my fellow Spurs fans are. Its maddening to think what certain fans actually want/expect, and how 'backing' is a term they love to use. Antonio Conte was 'backed' pretty well the season we finished 8th; but maybe he wanted even more players.
Vicario, Van de Ven and Romero are bona fide world class players, Bissouma, Maddison, Udogie and Porro are more than decent, and these are just some not-so-old signings.

Yes solanke is a an ok striker but I don’t see him as the guy that takes spurs to that next level just like I never thought richy would. As always I’m happy to be proven wrong for the success of the team but we have history of wasting money when there have been better options and I think this is us doin it again sadly

In games against teams that rely on corners long throws and set pieces i would start Radu ahead of Cuti. !: I think Radu is better against an aerial threat and we do not need Cutis skill on the ball as they wont press. 2: this would help keep Cuti fit and card free for the games we really need him.

I really enjoyed the video Ali, but I can’t say we are having a good or even decent window… West Ham, Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Aston Villa have all been strengthened to a high standard or at least to a decent standard. We have got Archie grey in.. solid player I like him. Bergvall is looking immense. But they are young. We need 1st team experienced players. Not veterans I’m not asking for 30+ year olds and I hope other spurs fans aren’t either. But we need prime and high quality. Solanke is a 6 out of ten for a full season. Where as we need a 8 minimum for our 1st choice striker. Again I love your videos and this one was great as well

To compete with the Premier League top boys we need at least 4 more high quality signings plus a top goalkeeper to keep Vic on his toes.

Enjoy your well deserved rest Alasdair!
About Lucas and Archie, I totally agree with you, 2 great signings and future stars. I'm sure they'll play quite a lot already this season thanks to their hunger. Some players could lose their place in the starting 11 as a result.
For the striker, hiring Solanke does not excite me, I think that some English players are overrated and cost far too much money considering their actual value. The market has become insane, any player costs a fortune now, this is crazy....
We need a top striker really, an international star, if Big Ange wants to play for titles and trophies. If not, we'll just fight for top 4 as usual.
We are still far behind some other big teams right now.

Alvarez to Atletico hurts on so many levels. 1) makes city weaker & Arsenal indirectly stronger 2) he’s making a poor decision to go there IMO, Simeone sides are joyless, functional machines 3) he’d be absolutely perfect for Spurs.
