It's not Trump, but the machine BEHIND Trump that worries me. Trump is merely the figurehead and his time on earth is limited ... he's not in good health.
Nobody can say as Trump is s flighty but he will try. Question is can the famous balancing powers prevent the worst? Optimists point to a razor thin Republican majority as a reason for hope. It seems thin to me. The next four--or 8/12/16---years will show us all.
Just as in business, you don't need to please every customer, please 80% of them and you can be profitable. All businesses expect to write off 10-20% of the dissatisfied customers, trying to win them back can cost more, and that energy and resource can be better focused on retention of the 80%.
It seems that, in the US, it's only necessary to represent the wishes of the wealthiest donors. Most media networks are willing to spout anything to ensure ratings, and most voters will believe whatever they're told by their favoured 'influencer' without any critical thinking or due diligence. That is how propaganda works. Since Citizens United, money in politics has meant that those with the deepest pockets can dictate policy, corrupt the legislative, judicial and administrative branches, and basically run the US a as a personal bank for those in control.
Too much emphasis, interesting as it is, is placed on US politics, influence and culture way beyond wha tis reasonable by the rest of the world. The europeans as a group have a sort of "war" on two fronts. We have a militarily aggressive russia on one side and an economic aggressor on the other. Is it not really time for this continent to resist both? In some ways, the BRICS organisation ( if it were not supported by some very autocratic extremeist nations) is a good idea. US finance and corporations dominate the world and it is about time that alternatives were available such that there would be little or any dependance on US politics, fickle as it is and about as democratic as a George III government.
The generally analyzed view 0:17 on Trump's proposals seems to be that they are simply economically not feasible. Could that be an excuse for a reversal in course?
No because the people saying that are themselves failures and a big part of why Trump got elected. Not that Trump will be any better. Many of us who dislike Trump don't want vapid neo-liberalism back either.
I've seen the Australian version of Starmer and incidentally the campaign strategy Labour based their campaign strategy upon in action. They promised nothing and over the last 2 1/2 years delivered it. They are looking at being a one term government. I suspect that will be the same for Labour unless they pull their fingers out PDQ.
No one is expecting them to have solved all the countries problems by now, however they should have started implementing the policies that will get there. They had years to plan this out. The lie they keep telling that they have only just discovered a black hole in the govt finances (when people like the IFS were saying from the start that taxes need to rise) , shows they haven't got a clue.
Your comments about Starmer are disingenuous at best. The amount of budget repair required will take years to be fixed. You are just another 3rd country who still has to tow the EU line if you want to trade with them.
You have not taken in the fact he won after running as insurrectionist and criminal so arguably the law has been broken and they live in unlawful country who does not keep their agreements with foreign governments nor promises to citizens, keeping in mind that trump admin led the betrayal of government they were supposed to help in afghanistan and the unkept promises from last term where he played golf until crises and gutted help after thinking it unnecessary. unpredictable in actions he may take not in betrayal coming i would say.
The Wrong Question , totally the wrong question. Will Elon Deliver ? Will First Principals Deliver? Answer is yes it will. We should more excited/hopeful about this pivot in History , more so than even the Kennedy's in the 60s.
Well i hope he will do what he says he will do over Ukraine. We have been led into a confrontation with Russia by expanding NATO eastwards. We have lost cheap energy . We, Europe, are too dependent on the Americans who always have their own agenda. Europe is badly led without backbone and Trump encourages them to develop one.
Whatever the Scandinavian governments are doing, they have the happiest electorate in the world so that would be a good model to follow. Maybe not perfect but better than the UK and US have now.

So I don't think as many of his bad things will happen, but along with that, I don't think many of his good promises are going to happen..... Like lower prices on all sorts of things.
May you live in interesting times......
It's not Trump, but the machine BEHIND Trump that worries me. Trump is merely the figurehead and his time on earth is limited ... he's not in good health.
If you're the 1% of earners, yes, he will deliver. If you're the other 99%, no. Bend over, It's going to hurt.
You want to trust a known liar with power? You've lost the plot if you have.
Simple answer: NO
Nobody can say as Trump is s flighty but he will try. Question is can the famous balancing powers prevent the worst? Optimists point to a razor thin Republican majority as a reason for hope. It seems thin to me. The next four--or 8/12/16---years will show us all.
No. Why would he?
The more important question is whether the proposed policies will deliver. trump can lie and weasel himself out of the trouble he creates.
He doesn't own the media, the democrats do. Fox isn't all on Trump's side
Trump *will* deliver everything he promised himself .... to himself.
Oh, I can't wait to see the deficit to surpass 40t.
"must represent all the people" - Not true. You only need to represent the majority that favors your policies.
It's hard to imagine Trump 2.0 without a global collapse of some sort. Don't blame me I voted for her.
I think he's mad enough to try to do everything he promised, except lower the prices of groceries, fueel, insurance and healthcare.
Quick answer. No.
name 1 western president or prime minister that has done what they said they were gonna do
Answer..... No !
The USA deserves Trump
He's going to be as big a disaster as the world fears. There is no good coming out of this orange menace.
No, he's a coward anyway.
Will the next impeachment be third time lucky?...
No
No, he works for Israel. He is only here to MIGA.
To say that Starmer has delivered nothing after 6 months is facile.
Yeah I agree. I think judge him in a few years.
@@owns-o8g He'll do nothing. He's funded by big billionaires and expelled the socialists from the party for a REASON.
He has delivered a bunch of tory policies and soundbites. I'm not waiting 5 years to work out those policies don't work after 14 years of failure.
I am Chinese and seven feet tall! If you believe that, then you are snookered.
He has stupid on his side trumpers wont know what hit them.
Will Trump deliver what he says he's going to do?
Of course not...
Name a single politician that has delivered anything other than 'self enrichment'!
HE DID LAST TIME HE WAS PRESIDENT, DESPITE THE ANTAGONISTIC DEMOS
Trump is not a politician...and hes the only president to leave office LESS wealthy than he started...and gave away all his salary for 4 years...
Theodore Roosevelt's new deal, Kennedy and we will go to the moon, Obama for Obamacare .
Your comments about Starmer are disingenuous at best. The amount of budget repair required will take years to be fixed. You are just another 3rd country who still has to tow the EU line if you want to trade with them.
He's fos..just look at his past bs
I really hope so. So people wakes up 😂
Trump is lazy, stupid and incompetent, so the answer is no. 😂
God you are so regarded
He definitely will do what he said he would do.
Bring more trump then
Get professional help!!
Democracy is only good if the result suits?
Tucker is more suited to the likes of you, he preaches to the uneducated and loves old Vlad which makes him a traitor
The Wrong Question , totally the wrong question. Will Elon Deliver ? Will First Principals Deliver? Answer is yes it will. We should more excited/hopeful about this pivot in History , more so than even the Kennedy's in the 60s.
Yeah, what poitics reay needs is the status uo because that's really workig, isn't it. Good lord, what a pile of drivel.
Why are you still on Twitter when all your relevant followers are on Bluesky? STOP supporting Elon Musk like so many have done already!
Because he's scared of having to start again with followers.
@ How sad. Many others were brave enough to change over.
TDS
His sway on the simple-minded is incredible
Well i hope he will do what he says he will do over Ukraine. We have been led into a confrontation with Russia by expanding NATO eastwards. We have lost cheap energy . We, Europe, are too dependent on the Americans who always have their own agenda. Europe is badly led without backbone and Trump encourages them to develop one.
No governments in living memory have ever delivered!
Rubbish
Whatever the Scandinavian governments are doing, they have the happiest electorate in the world so that would be a good model to follow. Maybe not perfect but better than the UK and US have now.
You do make me smile. Looking forward to hearing the cognitive dissonance!
Hmm, your not alone worrying about trump, but unfortunately america voted him in and it's totally out of any individuals hand, whether your in England or like myself in australia then my only hope is trumps polices brings america to it knees..if america has to learn the hard way then so be it.
HAHAHA, will trump deliver? HAHAHAHAHA
Whilst agree with you, the majority of Americans don’t.
A sizable minority, but another sizable group just don't give a shit
Whatever happens he will say he has achieved everything he said he would. After all, last time he kept more promises than he made, according to him.
