A real treat to hear an Aidan Dodson lecture. Fascinating detail and interesting reference points. Could listen to him for hours. I always like to think of Thutmose 3., and his military campaigns, as the inventor of " Combined Operations" . Hatshepsut's Temple at Deir El Bahari is architectural genius. Art Deco on steroids. Totally beautiful. It must have been stunning back in their day.
The priests; they couldn’t just destroy the statues because they believed they had the essence or ka of the person depicted living within the statue itself, so the solution was to bury them as the temple became too cluttered over time.
Informative lecture. I agree with you on the kv60 mummy, the identification process was rushed and flimsy, relying on pseudo scientific statements. The fact that it was a discovery channel project might provide an explanation.
It just seems like somebody in the audience is recording the event on a camera on a tripod or their phone. Maybe this presentation was not intended to be put on the internet (?) so the organizers weren't thinking about things like sound quality.
@@lindasue8719 disorganization regularly post lectures they host so I doubt that’s the reason. That being said, I didn’t think the audio was too bad after about five minutes.

Thank you for an extremely interesting n informative talk.
For anyone concerned about the sound, about 5 or 6 minutes it gets much better. It's a bit faint but you don't hear all the background clatter.
Who buried all the statues found in the Karnak Cachette?
