Great bass cover, man! I see you have both the Batalion and MXR DI on there. Are they both on and what difference to the sound does it make? Also, if you use them both at the same time, how do you set them up?
Thanks! You can see that almost every unit is always on except the MXR d.i.'s distortion section (engaged on 'djent' parts only - 3 times throughout the song, including the rather long outro part) and TC chorus (engaged only once during that mellow bass solo part)
So the Battalion is always-on (overdrive included, but set to rather low-gain settings) and MXR d.i.'s "color switch" is always ON in its clean mode, unlike its distortion which is (dis)engaged occasionally
In short - I stack two distortions in series (one onto another) for those abrasive parts - not only in this song but in every one on my channel that was played with high-gain settings globally (although, in fact, there are two units responsible for that - one set to low-gain & another to mid-gain, respectively)
Great cover man! I noticed the Cort B5 AS-RM/Element is 34" instead of 35"; have you noticed any issues with clarity/tuning stability on the low B? Thanks!
Spectacular bass tone and rendition as always, Tom! 🔥🤘
Thank you, Daniel!
Great job! That's one cool song too!
Thanks!
Very nicely done!! BTW is that a court bass? if so that thing sounds sick
Thanks! Yes, it's Cort B5 ASRM, but you can clearly see it's patched through a lot of pedalboard units, with almost all set as always-on
But the bass itself sounds quite nice (to me, at least)

@@TomMarello Thanks!
No problem - ask anything you think would help you

Thanks! For my playing style (fingerstyle) it's a spot on
