I agree some company needs to manufacture a tiny turbo for these little single cylinder engines because I'm sure there is a demand out there for them. Thanks for the ride along.
Probably a noticeable difference up until mile 30 where it just blows up 😂 my grom is a 2015 and the guy who had it before me blew out two different builds trying the 143cc big bore. Reliability issues would plague that beast, but It would be fun. And this video has me thinking about a turbo 🤔
ignore all these bbk haters, you got a turbo grom. that is bad ass. i have the 2022 grom with just intake, exhaust, and flashed ecu and a windshield. wonder if i can put a turbo on it too =)
What did this cost? When I get a grom it has to be turbo or engine swapped. I wish they would let us choose between different cbr engines from the factory with an option 250/300 swap. But I just want plenty of power up hill and be able to do 70 at a lower reasonable rpm
Honestly I’m not sure, honestly you’d probably be better off going another way. It was pretty tricky to get everything right. Turbos and single cylinders are tricky
i have a pile of money into my grom, prolly close to 7 or 8 grand. i think the turbo idea is cool but i was pushing 15-16 horsepower for a few hundred dollars not the 1,800 this kit goes for. i get it though big bore isn’t for everyone. now i’m pushing 27 ho but that’s after piles of money into it
depends how big and extravagant you go. i know that this kit would not work on my big bore grom because of the size of intake and exhaust ports. plus the exhaust pipe size looks way to small. i feel it only really makes sense on stock groms
@@motoprowess9383 I believe the stock head is a flow limitation even when NA, you should really consider porting and camming it. DHM has a package. Then it'll really wake up with boost.

Hell yeah there is. I need one for my grom. Can’t ride the highway and he’s doing 60+ no problem.
vz21
@@jake20479 Hi, is vz21 legit?
Super cool build. Thank you for sharing. How has the reliability been 9 months later? I imagine it's a big smile with every twist of the throttle.
Wonder how much power would it make if you add a big bore kit and a turbo kit

Throw some bronze swingarm bushings while you're in there. IMO the most overlooked part of the grom suspension upgrade
It’s been several months since you put this vid up. How has the turbo affected reliability? How many miles have you put on in the last few months?

Do it and update us on how it turned out. I have a 2022 Grom also. 😁
Awesome video right to the point!
Thanks!
I just realized you live a mile away from me😆
Do you think this would work well with the 180cc big bore kit for the grom or not?
With upgrades sprockets, clutch, timing chain and all of the above would it be worth it or just engine swapping it?
What does it get for mpg now???
Choice between bbk and turbo Grom? All other things being equal I'd rather have the turbo. I bet it's not as good but twice as cool

What 3 bar map sensor are you running ?
How did the turbo affect your fuel mileage?
Any updates on the bike ?
Is it a vz21 turbo or is there something smaller?
From what I heard it's a crappy vz knockoff
I just installed this on my grom and I’m not getting any power from the turbo. Are you referring to a 3 bar map sensor? Thinking this is my issue
More power just means better acceleration Change the rear sprocket to go faster
Dose it work on 2023 Grom
No way! You're in TTown???!!
Yes sir!
I have an oil cooler will this setup still fit with me having that?

Im 5'9" 97lb. I'd like to see how fast my anorexic behind could go on one of those.
What’s the gas mileage like?
The lag is because it doesn’t have an air capacitor
How much was the turbo kit and the new injector??
Turbokit is 1800
@@Andre_Thomasson just put a 250 in there
What mods besides a turbo are on this bike? Curious how much the turbo contributes to an 18HP Grom
The Grom 125 makes around 9.7 H.P. without turbo.
What ab wheelies
What’s your top speed so far… are you running stock gearing?
Yes, running the stock gearing for now. I think around 75.
75 is what the gearing limits you to at redline - turbo or not.
I'm doing a similar build may need advice in future
For sure, good luck!
I wonder how it'd do with a big bore Grom
It would probably be better for sure

Would a dhm stage 3 be more reliable than the turbo kit and cheaper!
Would a stage 3 it make cool turbo sounds?

Very Excite
📈
What it needs is a blow off valve haha
Should of just bought the new 5 speed goes almost the same speed ....like the sound of that turbo I just did exhaust ecu intake hitting 75
I bough the grom before the new ones were announced or I would have for sure. Speed is gearing not power.
I already go 70 on a clone 🤭 just seems extra
Aren't you a Lil gig for that bike?
I race these things on the track my 150 f2 grom Definitely is a bit faster
Now you need a blow off valve 😁
My 186-2v was much faster than that and dead nuts reliable.
i’m with ya
I have the TB 186cc kit with all the supporting mods done. I am close to buying a mini turbo along with the 5 speed gearbox to add onto my 186-2.
@colbyclark2479 sticking a turbo on that high compression 186 piston is not going to have the desired effect you're hoping for.
My koso 170 is deff a little faster than this
Maybe BBK in addition to this is the move.
@@motoprowess9383 koso 170 4v would prob be sick with a turbo. You would need the kitaco crankshaft at the point though
Don’t tempt me
Im looking at a grom now to buy what year would you say would be good. I have 5150 kikker rn it's a 4 speed 110cc it's a blast
don’t get the early 2010s ones (2013 2014 2015) they have some fuel pump issues.
