What do you think about the changes so far, something else I should add? Anything you would do differently? Let me know in the comments below!
I don't know anything about Pinball, but this is an awesome restoration of a piece of gaming history. Excellent job!
Thank you very much!
3d printed mods, nice quality. Good review👍 first thing I did was install lithium battery mod. Never used NV-ram 🤔
Yeah I do NVRAM so I don’t ever have to worry about changing a battery or one leaking ever again
TampaTec !!! 🤗
I absolutely love the backbox dimming kit! I have that on my Stern RollerCoaster Tycoon. That machine looks amazing! I'm usually not a fan of powder coating, but you've got me sold on that Sega blue.
The back box dim kit is so great, really something that should be standard for most machines. It’s just so much mixers having the game automatically cut down on the playfield glass glare with the push of the start button. Kit was really affordable too!
Looking amazing man… I can feel the love you got for that machine! Bravo!!!
Absolutely, it’s checks so many boxes for me. Sega, South Park, crude humor, all the things I love in life 😆
Awesome to see how many improvements you did on this machine.
Edit .. i missed the gameplay part on the end 😅
What an amazing restoration / transformation of that machine! I've always loved the South Park pinball machine, but now yours is even better with the customization you've given it. Awesome. I'm happy for ya.
Thank you so much 👍
wow so well done! This video is great. Of course I was just trying to find out how to fix a broken hardened Kenny and wow you have given me so much to think about for my machine.
Glad you liked it!
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
My pleasure, thanks for taking the time to check out the video.
Hello, I just bought this machine! I will take possession in a few days! Your video is full of information! I will refer to it often and I am sure I will have several questions for you!
Cheers
Steven
Enjoy your new machine!
Nice job so far, these tables look surprisingly straight forward to work on 👍.
Thanks Rob
A bunch of years back I played a South Park Pinball Arcade Machine at a small arcade inside this FUNKY Oddball mall in the Burbs of Denver Co. That one DID NOT have any Toppers on it. I't was / is an AWESOME pinball game though.
Great work on the restore, this is one of my favorite machines, would love to own one someday
Thank you
Really impressive. Looks amazing now.
Thanks for the feedback!
Love it! This is one of the few real pins I get to see and play regularly, and every one has the exact same things missing or broken that you mention. I love that you embrace not just restoring / fixing it up... but making it "better" using modern options and alternate options / upgrades. Something as simple as the Backglass having even lighting would send some purists into a fit of rage... especially some VPX b2s creators, haha. I'm glad you're not like that. Great video!
Thanks Terry, I've never been one for doing things the "purist" way, while I respect that dedication to detail, it's just not for me. I think there is all sorts of great things to be gained by leveraging all options out there. Wether a part is new old stock, refurbished, a custom mod, 3D print creations etc. My parents enforced upon me at a young age the concept of "leave something better than the way you found it" So when I borrowed the car as a teen, I had to bring it back with a full tank of gas, regardless of where the gauge was when I borrowed the car. That mindset has followed me into my arcade/pinball project world and I prefer to restore things to the best condition possible, assuming my wallet allows for it lol.
That is what I call a labour of love. Amazing work Doug!
Thanks, it’s shaping up pretty nicely. I’m happy most of its issues where easily remedied by TLC
This looks great. Very nice job.
Thank you very much!
Awesome job COOLTOY!
Thanks a bunch!
love the pinball repair/mod videos, can't wait to see more!
Thanks, I’ll be sure to post more as I finish this project up
Everything you did looks awesome and is very tastefully done! Can’t wait to see how it looks ones you complete it. Great work so far.
Thank you 🙏
Looks awesome!
Thank you!
Oh man, this is probably my favorite video of yours. Love every feature you added including the side blades, topper, full led back box light and white rails. Great choice on the armor color. Would have thought the powder blue would look good on the armor but that darker blue contrasts nicely with the play field and side art. Think you just doubled your investment. Turned out amazing! 👍
Thanks Paul, this would be a pretty easy machine for me to turn a profit on. But it’s got personal sentiments to me so it’s definitely something I’m going to hang on to. It’s always nice to know that your not upside down on a project cost though
Doug, I heard good things about the HD playfield glass too. Not sure if it's worth the investment but I hear it's extra protection for the playfield art. Course you have it in the garage away from direct light, so you're probably good.
@@paulberres9878 I’ve been anxious to try a piece of that HD glass out. I hear lots of great reviews for it. I just need to bite the bullet and give it a shot. My fear is I’ll like it too much and have to buy it for all my machine afterwards 😆
LOL, consequences of the hobby my friend 🤣
Looks amazing! What an upgrade from the original! Like new but better!
It shined up pretty good. It’s always nice to find a diamond in the rough and save a game that wasn’t treated well for years.
@@cooltoy so satisfying to watch and tbh probably are my favorites of yours I started watching cooltoy for tutorial vids/mods helpful motivational and insightful thanx Doug #onemanarmy
thank you very much @Mathew Moreno
Fantastic video! Really enjoyable. You have done an amazing job! Can't wait to see a video of it being played once you have finished it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Phenomenal!
Thank you!
It's so damn beautiful.
thank you!
Love everything you've done. It's interesting to hear about all the upgrades and how much love you put into this machine. I have never owned a pinball machine but I'm curious how you are so knowledgeable about every aspect of it? I feel like I would have to be an electrician/carpenter to even know where to start. I'd be too scared about screwing something up lol. Hope you, wife and baby are well!!
Thanks for the kind words. I was always the kid who took apart all his toys to figure out how they worked. That’s just how my brain works I suppose, I constantly have the need to understand how and why things operate the way they do. As a side effect of many years of being super inquisitive, I’ve been able to have a pretty well rounded skill set that helps with these types of resto projects. A lot of it may seem daunting, but there are tons of great resources via websites and forums these days. More often than not a person can find just about every answer they would need for an arcade/pinball/electronic repair project out there.
@@cooltoy Thanks for the informative response. It all makes perfect sense. I have a caveman brain when it comes to that stuff lol. I'm glad to see the internet is such a useful resource these days to help enthusiast like you out. You keep the love of the hobby alive. Have a great week Doug!
@CoolToy as always super nice job on the video and table. Hope my little project comes out as well.
It’s amazing what a little elbow grease can accomplish
Love your content and amazing work. One thing that would be helpful for a novice would be to get an estimated total cost of everything at the end just to get an idea of what the damage would be to go down this route myself. Again, amazing content, and work with your builds!
I probably have around $800 invested into repairing and improving the machine
@@cooltoy GM and thanks for the response. That sounds incredibly reasonable for such an amazing machine you added to your collection. Seriously awesome work!
Wow, think I'm gonna have to go to jelly school
Make sure you bring some toast!
for the 3d printed snow mountains for the Kenny hole you should paint the screws white to blend them in more
Already have 👍, just didn’t before I shot parts of this video
@@cooltoy The edition of the inside side wall art fits in so well 👍
Great video! How many hours do you think you've spent on this so far...including online research to buy the replacement parts? I'd love to do something like this someday, but have never owned or repaired a machine before. I'm guessing it would take me 10x as much time...
Hey!
Do you possibly have a link to that 3d printed Cartman hole protector? Can't believe the before and after of the machine!
Where did you get the lockdown bar receiver cover decal?
Great video. Where did you purchase the blue molding and drop lane protectors. Thanks
the website is shown in the video 6:10
Hi Doug- love the upgrade!!! Very nice and worth it for that price point that you paid.
Quick question- where did you buy the circular hole plastic protectors for
Your pinball? Thanks
Here is the website for the guy I got them from:richbrospinball.com I messaged him on pinside to purchase.
@@cooltoy awesome thanks man. Great job again- it’s funny that you and I have got that pinball bug- I just recently picked my second pinball “nightmare on elm street”🤣👍
@@dwayneraimer congrats on that one, fun game!
nice video, in your experience after some time does the cartman hole protector affect gameplay much?
Nothing too noticeable, I’m quite happy with it
Could you please tell me what these magic erasers are that you used to clean the scuff on the topper figures? I have the exact same ones with the same kind of scuffs and I'd love to get them looking nice again. Thank you!
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers amzn.to/49IzMKz
Where did you get green posts with white tops?
Where did you get drop lane protectors?
Thank you, and looks awesome!
green posts are from pinballlife.com drop lane protectors are 3D printed
Where did you buy those snow castles to put next to kenny? I might want to get those
3D printed them myself. Files can be found on thingaverse
Looking awesome! Are you on Pinside yet?
Yeah I’ve been on pinside for a while, I just never post in the forums.
@@cooltoy sometimes they can help you find those hard to find parts ..
yeah I may go down that route to see if I can find some replacements for the few remaining plastics I have that showed cracks in them.
@@cooltoy yeah I was needing parts for my 1972 Searay and was able to find them on there and have them on the way in less than 2 hours
Where did you get the hole protector/cliffy? Couldn't find a source
You have to contact www.richbrospinball.com to have them make you the cartman hole protector. Cliffy protectors are ordered from www.passionforpinball.com/protectors.htm
@@cooltoy Appreciate that. Do you have an email for Rich bros? Couldn't find a contact on their website. Appreciate it!
@@cooltoy Thanks for the info. One more question if you would. Where did you get the flipper armor?
Can u create some pin sound for your South Park Pinball machine please dude?
I no longer have the machine
Hello. Would you sell a pair of these kenny opto-protectors withe the mointains on it? This would really help at my restauration.
The file is free to print www.thingiverse.com/thing:5373842
@@cooltoy thanks alot! do you use PETG or PLA?
@@darkvalleygothic PLA
WOW! Just WOW!
