My cousin in Toronto was shot and it is nice to see a band not try to be some pop band making trap beats and autotuned singing about love ,yet you do not feel any emotion or connection besides boredom and just disgust. In 2018, I heard this song on the radio. I was dozing off between routes working as a bus driver. I liked the way it sounded, and I did not catch the name of it. I was humming it that entire week and tuning into the radio station to see if they played it again. They tend to replay the music programming, but on this week, they didn't. Since that day, I have been searching. Last night, I threw on a random music playlist built from my favorites (which also includes Green Day). I FOUND IT. The end of that little dilemma must be a sign of better things to come; I just pray it is a sign of brighter days. Please bring me rest, for I have found peace finding the song I missed for so long.
So it IS possible. A band CAN rediscover their roots, and produce something of absolute quality, without it sounding like repetition, nostalgia or a cash-in. Nice job, Green Day!

To me, this is the greatest Green Day song since the band first came onto the scene in the early/mid 1990s. I love everything the band has ever done to some extent, but this is the most energetic, aggressive, and all-around satisfying they've been in ages!

I appreciate that after all these years, Green Day was a rock band that actually stayed rock.
To me, this is the greatest Green Day song since the band first came onto the scene in the early/mid 1990s. I love everything the band has ever done to some extent, but this is the most energetic, aggressive, and all-around satisfying they've been in ages!
