Two minutes that changed my life! I love dancing and have always loved dancing. I’m in my 60s and love parties. I struggled a bit with what to do. This Saturday night I’m going to own that dance floor
As a fellow dance instructor, I applaud your mission to show people that EVERYONE can dance. These tips are awesome and I’ll be using them in my classes!
i watched your videos to get ready for my first time on a dance floor I am 70 years old and always wanted to dance but was afraid. thank you so much i had so much fun and have been back to dance several times. i might not look good but I have a lot of fun.
I like the method you showed in this video. I tried it while watching the video and it made me 5x better at dancing then I normally am haha. I actually didn’t realise I had so much dancing potential. Thank you so much. Hope you’re having an awesome day!
Thank you so much. I'm gonna turn 18 soon and almost all my friend dance at parties while I watch because I don't know what do and feel so awkward. You really helped me, God bless ya girl❤️
"Just pretend" is so real. "Fake it until you make it" really helped me a looot personnally, I still struggle a lot since I have social anxiety but deceiving myself and others into looking confident on the dancefloor + dancing for myself first instead of trying to prove really saved me. Thanks for the video, great tips !!
I have never really danced in my life, and last year I was at a party in Tunisia and started out the shy way as well but turned out to really enjoy dancing and just go with whatever. Having zero technique, only observing others and trying to mimic and let the rhythm dictate movements but it worked - i got a lot of attention after a while haha
Wow, wow, I feel TOTALLY different after watching this. You're brilliant to think of and share it! I used to love dancing but often felt shy about it. I do remember many years ago in a friendly way copying ('mocking') what others were doing on the dance floor and you're totally right, I had no self consciousness and was able to do dance moves I never would have otherwise. It was such a blast! I never thought to do this again as an intentional way of improving my confidence. THANK YOU! 💜
Thank you so much. I really enjoy watching people dance, but I'm way too shy to even make a small move. I don't know how to dance, and it's so hard for me to even try. I can exercise, but dancing has always felt challenging for me. Your lessons have made it possible for me to start learning, and I hope that one day I can follow along. Best wishes to you ❤❤🌹🌹
You have the best advice. When I go out, I dance like no one's watching, typically because no one actually is. Though, for me, I've always been the class clown growing up so I can laugh at myself easily.
Thanks so much for your videos. I am absolutely terrible at dancing, but with following along this video I felt great! Great tips. Will definitely watch more videos. I hardly go out, but am planning to go to a concert, so would be nice to be able to dance a little and besides: it is good exercise :)
I am 55 this may 31 and love to dance! You are good at explaining things. I lost some of my confidence bc I gained back 45 lbs i lost bf covid. Back then I felt i could move more easily but not i am slower and lost my moves. :-( Also not many people going out to the dance floor and i hate going out there by myself. I keep going and trying to get things to get more active!
You are a wonderful teacher. I am interested in any and all moves you can teach me. You are easy to learn from with your step-by-step method. Just this evening, a song came on the radio and a friend and I were dancing in the kitchen and I used the moves and methods you had taught me. My friend was so impressed she wanted me to show her your channel, which I did. Prior to your teaching, I used to look like a block of wood on the dance floor. Keep up the good work and I will too.
Thank you so much, dear I learned to dance just by watching and following your advices. I used to be rigid and never tried dancing in front of people before but by watching your tutorials I was able to come out of my shell. I never learned dancing in my younger years but because of you I learned to dance at 51 😊
Monica, thank you for these videos. I always thought I was dancing wrong but watching you, I am doing it right. I am not a professional dancer (but I always wanted to be a backup dancer for Janet Jackson😁, and I still love her but I also love J LO). I once had someone tell me that I dance sexy and I’ve never thought of my moves like that. I just have Latin roots so I figured I should know something. My grandmother LOVED to Salsa. So again, thank you so so much. Watching you dance makes me happy 😊.
I didn't watch, but wanted to pitch in my 2¢. I grew up the daughter of a dance teacher and I am also a dance teacher... Tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop.... In my 20s, I went out clubbing a LOT to go dance. I'm 61 now. I still teach of course. Here is my secret.... DON'T CARE how you look. The MORE you feel and act self-conscious, the more stiff and ridiculous you will look. The LESS you care, the freer you are and you will have fun. Nothing you do is wrong when you're out dancing. Here's the saying I would teach to my dance students.... *Feels good (or "normal")... Looks FUNNY *Feels funny (out of comfort zone)... Looks GOOD 😁 (because it's obviously something you wouldn't be doing in day to day life) Just have fun! 😘😊
As a 34 year old chorophobe who is completely and utterly running in the other direction from this and always has done and always will do, all I can say is I'm glad that it can work for others.
The best way I get more comfortable dancing is just to look at my shadow, it doesn't feels as much as me that way -try and see if you get more comfortable as well 😊
This video is very good answer to those what do you even do "training to dance 5 days of the week" questions. As fellow instructor I find this a very usefull "google translate to the fake it until you make it" because we all know not everyone speaks the same language.
@@GetDance you're a great influencer and dancer. You have the charisma to inspire others even though we are in doubt of ourselves. That's my experience everytime i'm watching your videos it felt like magic there's a positive connection. Congratulations! More power💖💖💖

Soooooo gratefullllll, since i discovered this channel i became a new personnn😍😍😍thank you so much❤ ( i wanna know the title of the song you were dancing on wearing a hat please ) thank you❤
I am interested in dancing to house music. Mainly for exercise. I was inspired by a music video for Duran Duran's song Wild Boys (Refresh Mix) by Duply. There are 2 women dancing in front of the DJ booth. They seemed to be leading the dancers on the dance floor. If you could watch that video and make a video on their style of dance moves or how to replicate them. If you have a video on how to do house music, could you please send me the link. Thank you very much.
dancers who dance choreo 100 times and get bored about it... I can understand, but at the same time, I can't lol. Moreover, if it's your own choreo. Just thoughts) Thank you for the video! For anyone who is a non-dancer - try to learn a few easy movements with your hands or body waves, it will boost your self-esteem drastically!

So many dance teachers become teachers just because they are great dancers. You are a real teacher.
thank you for saying that 😌

Met plenty of great dancers who are terrible instructors
That’s so sweet!!

I love how you focus on upper body movement. Really works just dancing like nobody is watching....because they're not!
this CLICKED, thank you so much! even when I'm alone I'm embarrassed by myself, but with this I didn't care how I looked and I could set myself free
I'm so glad! PART 2 to this video will be out this month 👍

It works like MAGIC :) Glad you liked it!
I was told a long time ago that I look like a confident dancer. I always raise my arms up when I'm dancing. That makes me look confident.
Thank you so much. I really enjoy watching people dance, but I'm way too shy to even make a small move. I don't know how to dance, and it's so hard for me to even try. You can do it! start at home and you'll see it will be more and more fun! 🙂
You have the best advice. When I go out, I dance like no one's watching, typically because no one actually is. Though, for me, I've always been the class clown growing up so I can laugh at myself easily.
Visualization is a powerful tool, good advice!
Right? Works every time! 😊
You’re the best. I’m 78 and still dancing. I can learn so much from you to up my confidence. Thank you. 💕
This is great. "Dance better by mocking me." So funny. You are awesome!! Your smiles look so genuine, even if it's just for a camera. Thanks for this!

Do you care what anyone else on the dancefloor weighs? No one knows what you weighed before COVID but you. Life is toO short not to go enjoy yourself.
