Story two reminds me of a friend's tale from earlier days of automotive technology--specifically, tires. Friend, let's call him Monte, was working at a full-service gas station. A guy came in and reported that his fairly new tires felt like they had flat spots. Monte looked at the tires, and saw that they were marked "Nylon cord" or similar. At the time, tire manufacturers were changing the cordage used to build the tire carcass (what is inside those layers of rubber all around the tire) from cotton to Nylon (this was before everybody started switching to "radial ply"). The Nylon used at the time would allow the tire to develop very slight flat spots if the car sat for a day or two, but the flat spots would go away once the tire got driven a few miles and the materials warmed up. Monte explained this to the customer. The customer didn't believe a word of it, but drove away. A week later, the customer was back with the same complaint. Rinse, repeat. After three weeks of this, with the customer insisting that it wasn't the characteristic of the tires and that it was normal, Monte hit on an idea. He told the customer, "Hey, maybe I figured it out! When you bought the tires, the tire store was probably still using winter air. Bleed that off and reinflate your tires with summer air, and the problem should go away!" A couple minutes later, Monte saw the customer at the air station at the corner of the gas station lot, bleeding off his tires and reinflating them. The customer was never seen there again.
In defense of the nurse, I can see a world where she was 90lb wet and the nurse she got to help was heavier than her, and I would question about the sensitivity of the foot device if it's not the first time you've told someone to go harder
There's no defense unless she's literally less than 3kg and is called Tinkerbell. Those two-stage pedals can be operated by my 5kg cat sitting down on em.
When a different nurse stepped and it worked, I don't know why I imagined the first one weighing less than a 100 pounds and the second one at least twice 😂, maybe the pedal was really hard to push.
In story 1 I would clearly advise the company that hired me as a consultant against investing into Shiny Happy, because they're more than one lawsuit in the making. Story 2: Well, if it's an LG TV, it might very well be the TV's fault that you can't receive a specific channel anymore. Their software really is THAT bad.
Vets don't have nurses. They have Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Techs. Nurses only get trained to deal with human patients. It's a completely different education and certification. I wouldn't be surprised if the pedals were designed for the pressure a normal-sized man would produce. A lot of Vet Techs are young women now, so she might not have the weight the pedal was designed for.
With that last story, even if sales gets told not to give discounts to the company in question, they';ll do it anyway for 'customer retention' purposes. May end up with replacing the entire sales department soon...
I remember Ian, omI got a lot of karma from replying to someone complain about referring Ian to work some the tried to abuse lawtechie and claim they would handled it differently so the comment that got me the karma was "That's because you don't have an Ian to dump on them."

"Why are you doing your investigating job?" Is a fun way to say please continue investigating us
You can't fix stupid, but you can charge it for on-site tech support

😂 oh boy! Your friend is a genius!
A better idea: Tell him to mark on the rim where the flat spots are. Then look at the new flat spots the next morning. They moved!
The first rule of the information super high way Never mess with the nerds who make it all work

They did say it has two stages and you have to click it past the first stage which feels like you pushed it all the way.

I love your stories Rob ! Thanks for always enlightening me on stuff I didn't know! You're the best ❤
Is Max Verstappen like One Punch Man, but with feet? 😆
Just a F1 driver, bit overhyped and way too whiny. Rob mispronounced the name, but oh well, ain't bothering.
He's a professional Formula 1 race driver, so he definitely knows how to press pedals.
Oh, ok. I don't follow racing; I thought he was just making the name up.
