My childhood dog had some kind of intestinal disorder and everything we fed him made him almost die. The doggie version of an elimination diet is chicken and rice! So we fed him that while slowly introducing foods to see what didn't kill him. Long story short his crazy simple diet only treats whatever was wrong with him. It doesn't treat mange, fleas, separation anxiety, cancer, uncontrollable barking, or hip dysplasia, sorry.

Another thing that pisses me off is her anecdotal experience doesn't mean anything. Just because all of her symptoms went away when she started eating only meat doesn't mean that had anything to do with the meat. It could have been some kind of hormonal thing that regulated itself with age. Maybe she started sleeping better. Maybe it was the fact that she cut a lot of things out of her diet (the absence of something she was consuming previously) and had nothing to do with the meat.It's so unscientific to just assume it was the meat and for her to say "it will work for anyone" is crazy and unsubstantiated.
If anything it's about what you don't eat. Food allergies/sensitivities can't easily be tested for. And eating meat only is a recognised clinical elimination diet. Usefull to figure out If something in your diet is making your symptoms worse. One is ment to gradually try to introduce other foods tho, to se if one can tolerate them. This way its possible to identify foods that harm an individual. No one (intelligent) thinks its about something magical with meat...

@Soumyo Biswas there are some things to consider. Those on a carnivore diet don't require as much ascorbic acid because they're not consuming carbohydrates to complete with ascorbic acid. Since ascorbic acid and carbohydrates share the same transports (glut transporters).
You only need about 10mg of vitamin c per day to prevent scurvy. That's on a regular diet. If you're consuming low/no carbs, it's even lower than that. And you can get that amount easily by eating liver, red meat or fish.
@Soumyo Biswas this is well know in physiology. You can do a simple google search and find it. You need about 10mg daily to prevent scurvy, and that's just on a regular diet where carbs are competing for the same glut receptors along with ascorbic acid.

What little you do have are epidemiological studies that draw exaggerated conclusions without taking any variables into account. Despite that methodological error in these studies, the outcome rate is still very low. As low as 3%. In any epidemiological study the outcome rate has to be over 100-200 percent for it to be taken seriously. Otherwise it's tossed aside. For example, smoking outcome rate is well over 1,000%.
