My always on pedal for years has been the Z Vex Super Hard On. Not only does it add just a little more 'ooomph' (or a lot of ooomph, if that's what you want), but it also has a great buffer and cleans up your signal drastically.
I own all 3 of these, and they are by far the most badass at what they do. The Manticore V2 is my always on, the MKIV is my fire, and the VTB is the rocket Get em Scotty 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼

I would prefer a mike in the room.. it would make me hear what u guy's hear
I use these 3 pedals as my stages of gain. They are rock solid and the tones are amazing. The Strident is a great always on pedal and works best at the end of the chain for me. The MarkIV into the Strident is amazing. Best drive tones I have ever been able to get with my rig.
DJG016 Any of them, depending on the application, A Marshall JCM 2000, Fender Super Reverb, & a Vox AC15. They work great with any of the amps. Strident is outstanding with the Vox in particular
Always on , The morning glory is a part of my amp ,thats how much it stays on I sold my v. 4 keot the v. 3 3 sounds better some how , use tube amps fender orange
Oh come on know Lee..... The Escort Mark 1 RS 1600 with the BDA engine was and still is, if you can find one, the bee's knees! Oh, and the pedals don't sound too bad by the way. 😁
Inspired to start learning guitar by your videos. So.. now.. I have a PRS SS and a little 57 Champ that I am learning on. 2 months into making noise.. am starting to look to pedals to match up on that little selection. As you know the SS is clean.. and the Champ has volume and nothing else. looking for advice on first adds to this. PS Love the Andertons channel.
That blackstar doesn't do it for me at all. Pretty sure it's the amp that makes the fuzz sound muddy. It takes the character of the pedal out of the equation. Kinda to compressed and stale . They all sound dark sounding through that amp. Amazing tones on the Victory though
What he means by tuned for guitar is that he tailored the circuit output/response to the guitar, not a wide open frequency band... Ie ehx is churning out pedals that work with guitar, but seem more fitting as keyboard effects than guitar. I'm getting a little tired of the dual purpose guitar pedals that are really just more keyboard crap from ehx. You know which ones!
just put all switches and stuff on the face of the pedal,,, for Pete's sake,,, @pedalmakers!! Literally no one wants a switch or bias gibbery doodaa on the inside!! Or secondary functions @Strymon!! :)
How did they not know that attack meant the amount of fuzz. Have they never seen a Tone Bender? You should have probably done a little bit of research before playing.
I like Captain’s videos on the whole, but it was painfully obvious this one was just thrown together. Eg. The Manticore pedal savage knob is a low pass filter. Turning that like a speed knob on a guitar was simply annoying. And for clean boost, gain all the way down and drive around 10 o’clock. Add hair from there. @Captain - A little research goes a long way.

The Manticore V2 is my favourite Overdrive pedal ever!
Mine too. It's almost always on, Danish Pete!

The Manticore is the best pedal I own, Klon+
Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive is a good always on pedal
The Savage knob gives kind of a nasally sound if you're looking for a Tube Screamer-ish sound.
What's the track/riff Pete is playing at 9:53 .... it's doing my head in trying to remember it.......
It's Bryan Adams. Don't remember the song name.
@@serginhosena thanks i found it now and my brain can rest.... Bryan Adams - It's Only Love
I use an MXR micro amp as a always on pedal :D
Mark IV..possibly an homage to the Tone Bender Mark IV?
Shirt matching Tele? Classy!😁
Cheaper to just buy Butterscotch shirts.

Blackstar does nothing for me as well. Might want to rename it ‘black hole’.
Pixie dust!
Noooooo almost the first!
They might get sued over tradmark rights by Analog Devices, good thing they're too small to show up on radar.
@ProAnalog Devices lol zing🔥

That's no match for ManBearPig!
