it's hard to think that all of us playing this game now are peaking around 30 years old. We were all young boys and girls about to start our own adventures in this world and here we are now half way through it. Time really flies so enjoy and appreciate every moment.

It was much funner when you had to figuring it all out yourself, made the legendaries feel more special. Now they just give away the legendaries without any puzzles or challenge because people can just figure out the puzzles online. Honestly ruined the games for me.

Emerald was my favorite game because they had combined the storyline for both ruby and sapphire and just tied it together into one amazing story. I wish they had continued to do that with the releases that followed after diamond pearl and platinum. X Y and Z would have probably had one hell of a story plot
Watching these videos really bring me back to the good old days! I'll never forget myself as a kid writing braille code on a notebook just to understand those weird messages on the caves, gathering all the coins between the couch just to go to the store to buy another pack of batteries, having my friends to get the other versions to complete our pokedexes... That was awesome!
There's just something about how these games treated legendaries that feels special y know? They're all in remote far away places that only a few know about and getting to them is either through a little puzzle or exploring their lairs, really makes them out to be legendary mythical creatures with amazing powers
I remember I had a friend that had Rayquaza and I used to ask him how he got it, never wanted to tell me. Until one day I was playing my copy of Pokemon Sapphire on my SP. I was exploring the area near Pacifidlog Town. Went into a section in the ocean covered with rocks on route 131 that I had never seen before. Found a tower like building. Proceeded solve the maze inside. To my big surprised, I saw a big, green Pokemon. That is when I finally realized I had found Rayquaza and captured it. I was the happiest 8 year old. Then the next day I went on to tell all my friends and even helped one capture it himself, with just 1 pokeball.
It's been 7 years since I last played this game. I remember downloading the emulator on my PC. 2 days back, I sat down at my old laptop and found this gem. I'm playing this again now in 2021. The nostalgia this story and music gives me cannot be measured. Today when I play this game, it takes me deep down my memory lane. Like I can feel those depressing days of mine when all I had was this potato laptop, which helped me find refuge in. I'm living the elite moments as I'm playing this game now :)

The obscure locations, requirement to look in the manual for a braille guide, and semi-esoteric clues all tested the initiative of players, especially if they were younger. They actually felt like well-hidden secrets locked away, which only dedicated explorers would find. It's just a sad indictment of the series' overall stagnation that it hasn't been surpassed in 20 years. 90% of legendaries are just handed to players on a platter, particularly in the 3D era.
I played both Sapphire and Ruby when i was 10. My grandmother was the one raising me at the time. we were not well off and couldn't afford to buy things like these games but my grandma just made it happen. I was so happy because it was my birthday and I remembed crying out of pure joy. Internet didn't exist to me at the time so I had so much time exploring the game and literally finishing it by solving these puzzles on my own. (braile and sky pillar gave me a hard time) if I can only go back to the past I would 100% do it. I love you grandma. you will always be the best. :")

Brings nostalgia. I never got to ever play emerald, I only had ruby and sapphire. My first Pokémon game I ever played was crystal and silver. I never forgot how hyped I was when gen 3 was announced. My parents even bought ruby for me on my birthday, along with pizza and an Oreo ice cream cake. That was a good day and a simpler time, ah childhood 😢

I think the reason why the remake's lack the nostalgic feel of the original is because of how the 3D graphics is designed to look all cartoonish and oversized, It would have felt right if the art design was less cartoony and child like and make it look a little more gritty with the 3D models being life-sized or maybe if the remake's was made in generation 5 when the franchise was still in 2D useing sprites it would have fit a lot much better because then it would look like a true remake around every corner to enjoy nostalgia. Also adding slightly remixes of the original music wouldn't really be so bad.

@Josh Mason good choice mate, you can rebattle some of the defeated trainers, and they will always have stronger pokemon. But there is a limit, i recall a trainer not having any of their pokemon above level 35 no matter how many times i rebattle them
I really wish Nintendo would re-release these with all the cut stuff added on, and like add extra things to get the event items. There's just so much passion in this gen, it really nails the theme of exploration and discovery really well, and I don't think modern Pokemon even acknowledges that anymore
I played Emerald for many years and it was always my favourite Pokemon game. I didn't even know until watching this video that the Regis were in the game, let alone Lugia, Latias, Ho-Oh and Deoxys !
I know how you feel. I didn’t even know hoenn had a legendary trio until years later. None of the kids I knew at the time would not show me. I had to figure it out all by myself. By the time I finished gen 3 FireRed was about to come out 😂😭
The first Time I caught Rayquaza, I went through all my pokeballs, dozens and dozens until I had no more and had to leave to buy some. Then I bought the max amount I could hold for the next meeting only to catch him with my first one.
The sheer amount of actual coding that went into this game. You can see the effort was real, this was pokemon when it was great. The new games fail so far in comparison

Like zacian and zazamenta are cool and eternatus too but zacian and zazamenta are version exclusives and eternatus is just like you don't even have to fight him😪. But in this game there's like 7 you can still catch😀

I remember in my 5th grade. A higher grader than me asked me to catch Rayquaza on his GB. I was like "Am I the greatest pokemon trainer in our school?" Of course I helped. I had fun because a lot of my friends surrounded me while they just watch. They were all careful not to bump me because that sky pillar needs accurate driving skills lmao and yeah I captured Rayquaza with an ultra ball. He didn't knew what to do with that masterball that time tho 😂 Good old days
To catch a Latias/latios which would flee after the first turn, is the easiest to catch with an ultra ball. What you do first is get a golbat to do a mean look which would prevent the respective eon from fleeing and thereafter draining him before you use an ultra ball. More or less you will catch it in your first 5 balls.

I remember these days emerald was an amazing game and the legendarys were cool the exploration was just amazing in these games I never got the event Pokemon like deoxys or jirachi but I remember being a super thorough kid and the thrill of finding a new unexplored area and you stumble upon a legendary at the end the suspense was on another level back then I love Pokemon still but the newer games just don't have that same kinda appeal imo
Any game on any platform was better back in the day as the internet wasn’t really a big thing so we all had to find everything out ourselves or through friends that’s what made games so good in my opinion. Now you can find out how to do anything on UA-cam and everything is a about who’s done what first back in the day we were just happy with what we had accomplished on a game without comparing our progress with anyone else.
I love the new graphics of Pokémon. But man when I was a kid when walking up on Rayquazza in emerald was so fun to see the Pokémon this way. Emerald was my favorite 💯

I remember playing this game on my old computer with save states and speed tools. Whenever the pokeball didn’t catch the Pokémon I’d just go back to a previous save state until it caught. I’d also mash A and B while the Pokémon was in the pokeball, because I thought it would help with catching it 😂

For some reason on my second play through, I didnt have a collapsing floor at the Sky Pillar and could catch Rayquaza without any problems... Did my game bug lol?

Brings nostalgia. I never got to ever play emerald, I only had ruby and sapphire. My first Pokémon game I ever played was crystal and silver. I never forgot how hyped I was when gen 3 was announced. My parents even bought ruby for me on my birthday, along with pizza and an Oreo ice cream cake. That was a good day and a simpler time, ah childhood 😢

I know. Exactly why I didn't enjoy alpha and omega sapphire/Ruby on 3ds. Just didn't satisfy my nostalgia
I think the reason why the remake's lack the nostalgic feel of the original is because of how the 3D graphics is designed to look all cartoonish and oversized, It would have felt right if the art design was less cartoony and child like and make it look a little more gritty with the 3D models being life-sized or maybe if the remake's was made in generation 5 when the franchise was still in 2D useing sprites it would have fit a lot much better because then it would look like a true remake around every corner to enjoy nostalgia.
Also adding slightly remixes of the original music wouldn't really be so bad.

@Josh Mason good choice mate, you can rebattle some of the defeated trainers, and they will always have stronger pokemon. But there is a limit, i recall a trainer not having any of their pokemon above level 35 no matter how many times i rebattle them

I really wish Nintendo would re-release these with all the cut stuff added on, and like add extra things to get the event items. There's just so much passion in this gen, it really nails the theme of exploration and discovery really well, and I don't think modern Pokemon even acknowledges that anymore

I had fun because a lot of my friends surrounded me while they just watch. They were all careful not to bump me because that sky pillar needs accurate driving skills lmao and yeah I captured Rayquaza with an ultra ball. He didn't knew what to do with that masterball that time tho 😂

To catch a Latias/latios which would flee after the first turn, is the easiest to catch with an ultra ball. What you do first is get a golbat to do a mean look which would prevent the respective eon from fleeing and thereafter draining him before you use an ultra ball. More or less you will catch it in your first 5 balls.

LMAO! why so many people don't know Aggron can learn surf??? Aggron can learn surf even Tyranitar,Rhydon,Nidoking & Nidoqueen can learn surf despite ground or rock type!

I remember these days emerald was an amazing game and the legendarys were cool the exploration was just amazing in these games I never got the event Pokemon like deoxys or jirachi but I remember being a super thorough kid and the thrill of finding a new unexplored area and you stumble upon a legendary at the end the suspense was on another level back then I love Pokemon still but the newer games just don't have that same kinda appeal imo

Any game on any platform was better back in the day as the internet wasn’t really a big thing so we all had to find everything out ourselves or through friends that’s what made games so good in my opinion.
Now you can find out how to do anything on UA-cam and everything is a about who’s done what first back in the day we were just happy with what we had accomplished on a game without comparing our progress with anyone else.

I remember playing this game on my old computer with save states and speed tools. Whenever the pokeball didn’t catch the Pokémon I’d just go back to a previous save state until it caught. I’d also mash A and B while the Pokémon was in the pokeball, because I thought it would help with catching it 😂
