Thoroughly enjoyed this. I have a NASCAR die cast collection myself, and even though I lost some of it over the years, I was able to hang onto a good amount. Many are still in the packages. I started collecting in the 90s, and collected quite a few in the early 2000s, but it tapered off in the years after that. Mostly just couldn't afford it anymore. Moved around a lot between 2009 and 2012, so I just stopped collecting. It was cool to see all you have here!
I remember in mid 2017 me and my family went to Oregon for i think maybe a week, and at an antique store there was a Jimmie Johnson 1 24 scale 2017 diecast, it wuz $20. I begged my dad to get it, but he said no. Ever since, almost 4 years later, i can NEVER get over that
If it's a 2012, then yeah, it is. I have one, but it too does not have a box and has been taken off of the base. I wish I hadn't because, one of those in the box and on the base just sold for like $175 on eBay.
@@ThatGuyWithTheRedDakota Keep it, man. It's probably going up in value with the recent news of Keselowski moving teams. If you wanna find the original listing, it was sold by some guy named scarsymmetry or something like that. I highly doubt the page still exists, but it's worth a look.
Well Eric you inspired me to go through my NASCAR diecast collection. Since I began in 1995 I have 1400 1/64 Winston Cup, Busch Grand National ,Craftsman Truck series through 2003 and then picked up just cup primary paint schemes from 2017-2019. Included in these are the 50 Petty Enterprises set from 1999 and also the Racing Champions 10th Anniversary set still on the cars all 83 cars. I also have 118 Haulers from 1995-2019. I also have 1/24 Marcos Ambrose and the 1/24 Manufacturer cars for the CoT I also have the 1/18 Batman /Joker cars for Dale Jarret and Kenny Irwin. I have several others . I attempted to collect every version of every car released from 1997 to 2002 when I ran out of room and the diecast market crashed . At one time there were about 6 different companies doing them. Once QVC took over the shipping of RCCA I bailed out. I worked across the parking lot from their warehouse. They would ship multiple cars in separate boxes at 1/2 the price of the cars . So when you're buying a $15 1/64 car and the shipping on each one costs $7.50 and 6 boxes all show up at once couldn't justify it any more. That combined with when trying to buy club cars and not being able to get them as soon as phone ordering opened , but then would find one vendor at a diecast show with 3 or more of them that were supposed to club member only and then see a price 2-3 times the catalog price killed my desire on collecting for 14 years . From 2003 to 2017 I only bought very select cars.
Imagine when u were a kid n were playing with the cars n imagined one day u would be speaking into a camera n perfectly explaining each n every cars design that u are currently playing with n broadcasting it to thousands and people actually cared lol. What a time to be alive
Incredibly late to this video. You warned my heart showing your Mark Martin diecast! My favorite scheme for Martin was his 01 U.S. Army car! It never got to victory lane with him but it made for great memories!
Your collection looks much better than my collection. My Grandma gave me a 1995 set of die-cast 1/64th scale cars. It had Jeff Gordon in the set. U destroyed the axles, scraped the pain and smashed the in "The Big One" crash. I also found a 1995 1/64th scale Mark Martin Indianapolis car. The V from the Valvoline logo wrapped around the bottom of the car. I think it was a proto-type for the '96 and '97 scheme. I loved that car, still do, but my 3 year old brother at the time chewed the paint off the hood. Not top proud knowing as a 9 year old, I yelled at my 2 year old brother. I gave him some other cars for him to teethe on .
Eric, did you ever have the number 5 toy car which came with a hauler and tools? For every pit stop you had a replacement engine, a wrench for the tires or a fuel filler. It was neither a diecast nor a remote control, but it was fun. Fun that is now past down onto my ex's nephew.
We grew up in the same era of nascar and it was awesome to see you have several of the same diecasts I still have too. I also feel better about how big my still growing collection is after seeing all your diecasts haha. Great video!
It may have been before your time, but my favorite paint scheme in NASCAR history was the silver bullet Coors Light Dodge that Sterling Marlin drive for Ganassi. Such a beautiful car! Would go great in the collection!
These are soo cool I always had to get one of these when I went to nascar races at Bristol and Michigan I have so many and I love seeing different cars from nascar like these! Thanks for the awesome video keep it up your amazing!
This is awesome, i'll probably be in that position one day, I got a 1999 Jeremy Mayfield 1:24 diecast I've had practically my whole life, got 3 #43 small cars from cereal boxes in 2008 that i've held onto, in 2020 i decided to expand on my collection and got many 2020 schemes as it was a big year for me, got a 1;24 Kyle Busch car on its way, and yes i agree, I'd only get a large diecast i really love, so maybe in future another KB car or a 43 car as I'm a big petty fan too, especially the STP throwbacks
The Matt kenseth open hood die cast reminds me of my ONLY open hood die cast was a Conway Twitty Diecast for sterling marlin. My dad bought it cuz he loves Conway twitty and I still have it but I confess the hood is MIA😂
This video gives me DECS vibes! I am also collecting 1:64 scale NASCAR die-casts and I will do NASCAR stop-motion races as well as my own series called the NASCAR Shell Cup Series with them.
