Lighter, meaner, and ready to shred. The Variant Pro carries the legend forward. Utilizing a handcrafted composite shell, the Variant Pro updates the aggressive looks of the original, and it’s packing a few upgrades as well. The peak is refined for less lift at speed, and low-profile vents throughout the shell deliver cool air where you need it. Additional features include a HydraDry liner, quick change shield, and a removable chin curtain. The Icon Variant Pro is ECE/DOT certified.
In the video, Spurgeon states that the Variant Pro Helmet cannot be used without the face shield installed on the helmet. Production models of this helmet will be able to have the face shield removed, but the peak does need to stay installed. Also, we have found that most medium- to smaller-framed goggles will work with or without the face shield installed.
Is anyone else seeing orange instead of red ?
Idk i like the OG variant better. More higher quality. I still have the OG Salvo silver variant.
Heavier does not mean higher quality lol
Raced professional motocross and flat track 60’s and 70’s. 3 helmet choices, full-3/4-1/2. I raced full helmet. I wear the Icon variant on my motocross bike today. Googles are too close to my eyes and decreases peripheral vision. Plus I prefer nothing rubbing on my face and have seen first hand eye injuries with googles in full face helmet. The full face shield keeps a lot of the dust out of my lungs. I guess I am out in the front too much and dirt not an issue with eyes. Lol
It's it me, or does the new version have a wider view window?
That, and the more rounded shape are huge.
No drop down visor is my only negative
I dig it... I really liked my OG Variant, and the Pro improves in areas where it actually matters, Weight, Size, and Fit... Styling is always subjective but I'm gonna grab one of these and let my Klim Krios stay fresh for long touring... thumbs up
So you're telling me that the OG Variant will be going on clearance soon, right?
I just crashed about 40-50 mph and knocked my head pretty good and my variant didn’t even break the visor. It’s a great helmet, I stand by it. I’m buying another, I’m not feeling the Pro.
Nice. I have the regular Variant and have never been really happy with it because it felt too tight on the cheeks even though the rest of the helmet fit fine. Sounds one this one by better suit me.
Face shield mounting on pro sucks. I broke new visor when removing.
FINALLY!!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN UPDATED VARIANT!!!!
That's a whole bunch of backward steps.
I have an original Variant and I wouldn't now consider this as a replacement.
A bunch of solutions looking for problems.
This is red or orange
Been wanting a pin lock, 40mph and up always visor lift for me when U head check back.
Wtf, no drop down sun visor? Hate the shape, hate the inside chin vent switch as I am used to run it with the chinguard and my mic tucked in there.
I welcome the speaker cutouts (about fuckin' time), I like the quick release visor although it looks flimsy.
The BEST part of the variant pro is that I was able to get the old one for 100 euros on clearance sale...
Hi! Is there a difference in protection or weight between the Variant Pro and the Variant Pro Ghost Carbon? Since the Ghost Carbon costs costs about 100 dolars more, I'd like to know which helmet offers the better deal.
Just get yourself a decent japanese made helmet I made the switch from icon to shoei, never looked back since. One of my buddy crashed with the variant and the peak broke and almost took out his eye but gave him a good scar on his eye brow.
pay $500+ for the looks and design or $500+ for safety, comfort, and ergonomic design
@Aly Woods we can have our opinions and this is my opinion. in the end people are free to buy whatever they feel like regardless of what I said
Hello, Do these ship with 2 visors like the old one did?
No, it just ships with a clear visor. -DrewZilla
Booo! As far as looks go I absolutely hate what they did to this new variant. Way too bubbly looking and not nearly as aggressive as the previous one.
Curious, if you’re able to answer this... I have the original Variant, if I order the Variant Pro should I get it in the same size as my Variant? Will that be a good fit?
Yes, the sizing will be the same and once it relaxes with use it will fit just like your original Variant. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or CS@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat

Thanks so much.
That whole peak and face shield mech looks like junk, can see that breaking easily.
You can’t hate/judge something if you never tried it brotha 🥱
It doesnt comes with the chin curtain stock? Have to buy it seperately?
The removable chin curtain IS included. You don't have to buy it separately. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

i"ve been a subscriber since forever, I would love to see at least some metric captions... me and the rest of the world
Because except for some former British colonies nobody uses the imperial system. I work as a mechanical engineer and even my US made equipment is is in metric so there is no use in learning it. Besides that it is way too complicated.
Lipovicianu Stefan if you’re an engineer then you should be more than capable of using both. I never even went to college and I can. I agree that metric is easier though. But I’m just sayin’ man.
is this helmet eyeglass friendly?
Not specifically, as there aren't specific grooves at the temples. The following linked below are specifically designed for glasses. -DrewZilla

Is it more of an arai/agv intermediate oval or narrower intermediate oval?
To me, it's closer to the more accommodating Arai/AGV intermediate/neutral oval. -DrewZilla

Those slash things at the back are a deal-breaker for me. Wtf
On my old Variant, the stupid hardware they gave you to install the face shield stripped out so I permanently rammed a couple of stainless fasteners in my gold shield on that sucker and kept a pair of clear goggles in my tank bag for when it got dark.
Actually being able to change your face shield without needing a fucking screwdriver is a huge improvement in daily usability. Not to mention a small being a _small._
Please make a carbon fiber version and take my money!
Not gonna lie,I'm a HUGE fan of icon but that new helmet is awful looking. The old one looks way better, looks more aggressive and rugged, like it would withstand a beating. That new one looks cheap and weak. Totally just my opinion, does anyone feel the same? That metal vent on the front of the old one makes it look better. The old one had that slop in the front like an Eagles beak and the new one looked blocky. Kinda what Honda did to the front of there 600rr's the front end got chopped off and they look awful too, who's designing this crap. They should of never changed it from there look they had going. I still plan on getting a 1000 from like 2013. Sticking with the airflite.
Did i just miss something? Where the fuck is Antony?
White is the SAFEST color on the road. Too bad is going away.
The Variant Pro is still available in White, just in the Construct style plain graphic from ICON. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or CS@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat

No goggle's! 😦 and can't use without peak?!🙄

That peak looks soooo cheap. I´d be worried of accidentally breaking it.
Well I cant really see any changes for the better. Icon did missed with this one
Had me until the price came up. WOW! And it still has the same 3-5 year lifespan as the other helmets that cost about half as much. I mean, sure, if you've got the disposable income for the Icon, great. We're in an economy where people are struggling to make ends meet. I'm not sure high budget items are going to sell as fast. I know your commission is higher, but there's something to be said for sales volume.
I always felt the variant was too high, too. Way too close to premium helmets without any of the features.
remember icon isnt a good product maker.
The variant has been one of Icons best sellers so clearly people are buying it.
@@robertn4840 well if i lived in america, i would steer away from DOT only helmets.
@@petrosrz8990 ....ok? And?
Bro... let's be real. If your helmet catches something in a crash its your time to go. Stop making up issues. It has enough.
I will NEVER buy the Airflite. EVER!
Most stupid helmet design period.
Why?
Well, they give you that beautiful tinted shield and then they go and complicate the design by putting an integrated sunvisor…
WHY on earth would I want that?
So that I can then use it as a welding helmet?
Pointless!!!
They could have made it perfect!… cool looks, cool paintjobs… now people that are buying it are stuck with a wanky sunvisor that is completely unnecessary…
Not to mention it blocks airflow… aaaand makes the helmet heavier (and it wasn’t light to begin with)
Damn those people are stupid.
So the Variant was a piece of shit so to make up fo there shortcomings lets slap the pro moniker on it and make it how it should have been done to start with. The original Variant was the last piece of Icon gear I buy.
