Professor reminds me of my favorite teacher, skied the Alps to get out of Rusia just to become my Math teacher. His love was sculpture and sketching. He spoke with the same strength and boldness. Anyway, I was a terrible student or perhaps just was not listening?? No... Wow, these are master classes hopefully the students understand what education they are getting, nothing close to what I paid for in the few college courses I took.

Im a self taught artist. I have to wonder do artists really put this much math into their work. Its exhausting. My intuitive work flows but im trying to learn technical skills. I am not getting it.

I get you. It feels too technical for something that is art but there’s a reason why their work stands out. Also, there is a lot of prep work done prior to painting so that’s where the grid comes in as they plan their layout. When the legwork’s done, by then they know where to position the figures and furniture in the artwork. That’s where the lines start to coincide.
