How's it going?
Wow, this method of presenting vocabulary in context through example sentences while at the same time breaking down the sentence into its component parts is genius! As a complete beginner in Mandarin Chinese, I found it extremely useful! What I am going to do is rewatch the video so that I can fill in some of the gaps from the first time. 😊🤲🙏Tài xiéxie nî le, Eileen!
I really needed this! I’m only a week into my Mandarin studies so I’m definitely utilizing this resource 🥰
I'm on my way to catching up with you. I've been studying since August 2021. And gathering proper energy to get a boost.
this is a gem! ive finished the flashcards for the hsk 1 150 words. been self studying chinese for 2 weeks now. thank you so much for this!!!
谢谢您. 现在我学中文学了三个月了. 这个电影是很好!
Thank you very much from France. I started to learn chinese in october. Since three month i listen your video !
The correct sentence is:
I have been listening to your videos for three months !
Why and how is this free? The quality is unreal. Thank you so much 🙏✨
Glad you keep us beginners in mind. Thanks
I've been in China for 7yrs and just starting to learn Chinese😊.. thanks for useful videos❤
Is english common enough there to get by? I ask as I am about to travel
Great video! Very informative and a great guide for people wanting to learn Mandarin. Also props for the video editing!
What you all have done is provide the perfect resource for what renowned expert in language acquisition, Dr. Steven Krashen calls 'comprehensible input.' Part of the features that you use which are so powerful is that you teach vocabulary in context. Then, you break it down in order to learn the meaning of each word in order to make all of the content comprehensible. You're obviously teaching usable and frequently used vocabulary, phrases (chunks), sentences and dialog. Another feature is that through the story videos that you've created, you provided a TPRS resource which is also recommended by experts. I don't know if you did this intentionally (following his 'natural approach' method) or intuitively. Nonetheless, this format for teaching makes these videos the most effective and powerful resource on UA-cam that has been recommended by these and other notable language acquisition experts.
By far the best teaching method that I've come across on UA-cam.
This is really very helpful. I'm currently learning HSK3 and have started repeating HSK1. My biggest problem right now is that I can't form sentences myself. Translation from English to Chinese helps me move forward.
Another wonderful video to help us learn Mandarin. Thank you for all your hard work Eileen!
I really like this type of video. Although I'm not a beginner anymore (passed hsk 5 few years ago) I feel like repeating after you is still useful for me. Really can't wait to see more advanced videos from this series! PS. From the comments here I can tell I'm not the only one who is listening to this and doing some housework at the same time, so I think it would be good if there was slightly longer time for translating the sentence (so we don't have to stop the video to do that). It's just a suggestion 😃 thank you 😗
I agree with you.
Where did u study?
you can also slow down the video! That’s what I do
@@AMNECEO you're right but this also slows down her speech ;)

Your content is truly a treasure. Thank you so much
Our new *HSK 1, 2 and 3* videos all have English prompts to encourage students to engage with the videos' content.
Should our new *HSK 4* videos also have English prompts?
Yes laoshi, please include the English prompts.
Yes
Yes
But I think HSK5 should have no English
Yes please
This is GREAT! I started, again, very recently and this is right on my level. Lots of words I don't know, but lots that I do.
This is my immersion!
Thank you!

When try paying, it says you agree to pay $30 monthly subscription (to be paid every month), it doesn't say to be paid one time only.
@@ahkhoenterprise5619 Yes, we aware of Patreon monthly payments. This is why when we receive notice of your 1st pledge (donation) we send out instructions on how to discontinue further payments. It is quite easy to do. So yes, once you discontinue support, it is a one-time donation.
@@MandarinCorner2I appreciate your hard work, but the logic is difficult to swallow. How can I legally commit to something and don't commit something at the same time.
@@ahkhoenterprise5619 Your thinking is a little bit flawed. When any a donor agrees to an automatic monthly payment to support a cause, they do not give up their legal right to discontinue payment in the future. The reservation of this right to discontinue payment is understood by most people.

Thank you so much for these videos. The way you structure the presentation of words and sentences helps alot, and lets me study without having to look at a screen (but i can if needed!). Best listening videos on youtube that I can find so far!
谢谢老师,你的中文课非常好。我刚刚学中文
These are fantastic. Can i make one suggestion? That you mirror image the video, so that your hand gestures showing intonation are in the correct (left to right) sense to the viewer. Just an idea! Thank you again! 😊
Excellent to see a video on beginner level. It seems you are more focused on intermediate level.

Hi ! thank you so much for all this work in this channel for so long time, you really help me since 2022, I just came back on this video to improve my writing, be careful: I think betwen 23:56 and 24:00 the pinyin reverse 女儿 and 儿子 compared to the audio and the mandarin caracters, thanks again for everything !
Thank you Laoshi🎉
Simply Thank you.Very nice.
Beautiful princess thanks greetings from Machu Picchu - Peru
great learning experience
Hi Eileen - Great content as always! My recommendation would be to not have the portion where you say the sentence in English. That breaks the flow of being immersed in Mandarin (brain soaking as one of the language experts said in one of your interviews). Anyone who needs an English translation can just read it on the screen anyway. Thanks again!
Thank you good teacher
definitely one of the best resources out there! thanks!

At 32:00, could you please explain the grammar?
Is this a more formal way to introduce one's self, instead of "我叫 (name)," "我 名字 (name)," or "我是(name)" ?
All can be used
你叫什么
你叫什么名字
The “formal “ way is 我姓…..
Second character will indicate your last name

Teacher, thank you. I do have a question though. I was told that shi4 is not needed when saying something like "Today is Tuesday". I was taught that we can omit "is". Teacher, correct or no?
Looks like for 8 months no reply. 今天星期二。今天是星期二 both are understood as the same. 是 is optional. There is quite a bit of flexibility just like in English and you will be understood. Just parrot how Chinese talk. I don’t even waste my time worrying about these things just start talking and listening to real Chinese. My wife is Chinese

Used to know that "morning" is "zaoshang" , "shangwu" is confusing me now :( Can I say zaoshang instead of shangwu?
Shangwu refers to the period that starts from 5-6 am to 12am, but zaoshang means 4-5 am to 8-9am.
