Axel and Kyosuke's rivalry is just as epic as it gets. With Axel's ninja-like Soulgain against Kyosuke's colossal Alteisen not to mention both of their high impact attacks, you can't ask anything more than a destruction of epic proportions. :))

Something hit me after recently playing over the game. Anyone else notice that Axel and Tetsuya have a strong resemblance to one another (despite one being a brunette and the other a redhead)? Coincidence or maybe something to do that we don;t know what happened to the Tetsuya in Axel's universe?
First time I ran into the Soulgain in my run (after the opening levels anyway) I was legit terrified - I spent most of my resources on clearing the map. Then this bastard shows up with his theme and HP Regen L... good times.

Tbh I find it easy, since Soulgain only targets Alteisen, so everyone are free to strike the Soulgain down without fear of being hit during the enemy turn. As for Alteisen I just put the Hagane behind it for Support Defend. When the Hagane is low on health I switch it with the Hiryuu Kai while I heal the Hagane.

Dark Knight Theme of the guy who absolutely hates Beowulf and punches people while shouting about The Four Gods which two of them happens to be with the Steel Dragons. The Actual Dark Knight is mostly piloted by a Busty Android. Ok.
@SMAXZO Obviously, Beowulf. Specifically the Beowulf from the Inspectors OVA, whose "Gespenst S.O.L. Type," as I call it, makes the Zweizergain seem cuddly by comparison. Oh yeah, I went there.
Eh, Axel's a bit overhyped imo. Don;t get me wrong, Axel's cool and the Soulgain's an awesome mech. But when you get down to the barebones of his story he was running away after getting his ass kicked in repeatedly by his universe's Kyosuke and only barely managed to defeat him before teleporting over. The initial encounters make him seem really tough mainly due ot how underpowered you are when you first encounter him for real but by the time you get to the end he's more of a pest just there to drain your energy and SP before moving onto better challenges. The anime made it a bit better but still didn't really make him out to be that much since he kept on fighting Kyosuke in mechs DESIGNED around handling the Alt, or in a Super Robot. When he finally faced Kyosuke on even terms Kyo moped the floor with him. Still an awesome theme though.
You forget that Beowolf has Einst DNA which allows him to repair his mech and make it even stronger. That is why Axel had trouble fighting him until he got the Soulgain also immediately before they left. And going by the Drama CD Axel tore Beowolf apart he was just unable to finish him off before he had to teleport out. Even in the OG universe Axel was always more powerful than Khosuke but his single-minded focus on preventing Kyosuke from destroying the world like his counterpart was doing prevented him from winning which is what Kyosuke and Axel both agreed was Axel's downfall.
