- I just bought 2018 Kawasaki ZX10R SE with only 3500 miles that I will be converting over to a track/race bike.
Follow along for the journey and let me know if you guys have any suggestions!
Remove the positive neutral finder to prevent mis-shifts from 1st to 2nd.
Hyped to see more footage of this bike! Especially at Road A on the straight!
Me too bro. It'll be a nice change to be in full tuck for a second or two less on that back straight loll
And even though they've flattened it somewhat, wheeling over the "turn 8" hill at 130+ is still fun.

Rear sets! OEM rear sets on all motorcycles are way low. I'd suggest finding a cheaper option which decrease the distance between your leg and the tank (depending on your height). You can go all the way with graves, vortex, etc. but if you don't like the 1000cc for track then its a smaller financial commitment. Obviously the decision is up to you, but just an idea.
Maybe bars? Typically will be a feel thing.
Definitely race spec brake pads.
Next is suspension, since that's the most important, but that's all I can think of otherwise. Absolutely wonderful bike, can't wait to see you tear it up!
Good point. I found some decent used rearsets at a good price. I'll also be looking for clip ons. These things are must have for me since I'm taller.
Also just got some of my favorite brake pads - galfer 1375.
Suspension will be next of course if I want to invest more into this platform. Thanks for watching man and I can't wait!
As you know, I am no suspension expert. But I would certainly run the OEM suspension setup by someone reputable to see if that's worth keeping or conventional suspension is the way to go. I've seen a few guys at the track with electronic suspension and they are fighting it the whole time. Congrat's on the purchase!
Yeah I've heard they will eventually need to be changed especially serious trackday riders/racers.
I will give it a weekend or two before making the jump.

Do a Hindle 3/4 pipe...leave the stock header for now. My 2016 10R made 195hp with a flash and a 3/4 pipe. Love it buddy! Can't wait to see what can do on this!
I heard the stock header on these are pretty good. Good tip! Please LMK if you come across any Hindle or good slip ons.

What color are you going to do the bodywork? I vote same color scheme as the red eye cheetah, but white as the base color instead of black. "Le Icy cheetah" 😅
Ooh that's actually not a bad idea. I like the icy cheetah, might make it white and give the cheetah blue eyes. Cuz the zx6r is going all red so this might be a good contrast!
