Once the speakers are in place, the gap between them diverges towards the bottom... maybe a prototype glitch but that would really get on my nerves if that hairline gap isn't completely parallel...
It's just a prototype thing, it went back to B&O after us to be adjusted. That poor Harmony has been all over the World being installed and packed up over and over again. The final version will be much more polished I promise.

as an old B&O engineer, it really hurts me that a video has been made, with the misalignment, it really is important that it is perfect in presentation, really feel a video like this hurts a product, i started having the feeling, that WAUW, B&O beginning to return the "pantomime" in their products, with movement, but then after seeing this, i ended up with a bit of a sad feeling, of what, has B&O become.
@@TheRasmusdc Hear hear! I totally agree. I'm still a proud owner of a complete Beosystem 5500. If all the components aren't stacked up completely in line, it also does my head in, and also how the cover of the Beocord 5500 slightly sinks under the weight of all the components sitting on top, minimising the gap between the cover and the sliding cassette drawer. It really gets to my OCD, but with a B&O, isn't that one of the fundamental things about owning one in the first place?
@@TheRasmusdc I've since seen pictures of this TV at another event and the speakers are now perfectly aligned again. I must admit the larger gap at the bottom drove me mad all weekend but I only had that one chance to make a video before October so I wasn't going to miss it! I trust the B&O boffins will have the creases ironed out before the final release. John
I love the theatre and art behind this. But more so, I love John’s passion for the product. I’d drive out of my way to visit this store, if I had the money, and a car.

In one of the B&O brochures of the 90's it stated their TV's will one day be a music system too like a coin of two sides and probably Beovision Harmony is the vision realised.
Looks like Beovox 5000 speaker works magic with the design.
Fantastic TV from BANG & OLUFSEN! For me, wooden panels look just dizzying. The magic of turning on BeoVision Hamany strongly attracts attention.
I am totally blow away how cool this is! and really takes you back to the good old days with B&O where things had some cool mecanical elements to them, awesome video guys!

This Beovision avant- really changed my sense of engineering the JEEVA CENTER Computer which is a television and computer in one that raises with motorized double sound bar speakers and the system is assembled in Indonesia at the nice side of Jakarta.
Dang I’m definitely gonna go look look for one of these and pick one up for cheap at a garage sale in 35 years!

The 65 and 77 originally are the GX 4K OLED series of LG, and the 88 is the ZX 8K OLED series. The LG 88in 8K is 30 grand to start with. Pretty these B&O 88s are well over 40.

Taste is subjective and ever evolving. Something which is dependent upon the space in which it is located. The beauty is in ones ability to have a choice between and/or both and alternate between as decor in that space also changes.
The choice of speaker cover depends on either you are old time customers or new customers on the block

Great video, i realy love the tv, but im not sure about if i can justify the pricetag. But surely its a lovely tv, and we sure as h... Got some of the original b&o magic back. Lovely to see these days, when loewe is going down, that b&o stil goes!

I do love the styling of the b&o and the idea one system solution without seperate av receiver etc.. got rid of a small setup in my back room a while ago as have 2 separate cinema setups.. have a b&o 7 series 40 full hd in there.. although the picture isn't in the same league as my older 11yr kuro or new Panasonic oled I'm still drawn to the set with the rotating stand and love the closing curtains effect.. the sound is crazy good too

Oh I’m an absolute fan boy. Always have been, just have never been able to afford anything. Now I’m a little older I’m trying to add some goodies bit by bit.
I have H9i’s which will be replaced by the h95’s this year. I’ve just ordered a Beosound stage. And will probably get the Beosound Level soon. That’s the point at which the affordable stuff ends.
Maybe a secondhand Beosystem 3500 one day

Hi there. Can you tell me why the speakers don't fold out, but the tv screen switches itself on? It doesn't respond to the remote at all ( I checked, the batteries are good) . It was working perfectly yesterday.
Hi John, looking at the video, you mention that you thought Beovison was going end: that has surly materialised now? What made the Beovision TV's so desirable it was designed by B&0 only. The Harmony TV is not the full Beovision TV? Would you not agree it's more like a Beosound/Beolab speaker with a 100% LG C9 TV with the exception of some software added for the control of the TV with the Beoremote?
Would you know if B&O will have their own version of the LG's new Rollable R series, with a Beosound speaker? Bring back Beovision, please!

Good question. I don't have any information on an 88" Harmony. There is no official release information.

Those Speakers when the have the fabric on look like BeoVox 5000 Wall speakers hanged horizontally. If the could mover the speakers woofers a little lower so they can make a speaker cover with brushed aluminum or stainless steel to make then look like the BeoVox 5000s that would be cool.

Lately the prices at B&O has risen by about 30%. Will there be any chance that the prices will normalize in the near future? 30% is A LOT when you wanna buy B&O because it's already very expensive. I need to buy three different sets of B&O speakers, but have halted all purchases because it's just too much now.

When it was current it was amazing. The Mk5 and 6 still hold up pretty well with a great HD picture. Although parts are becoming limited and the thick bezel has made them a little dated now. Still a beautiful bit of design and incredible sound from the BeoLab 7.
The beovision 7 is quite outdated, but the Sound is Amazing. I have the beovision eclipse now, had the beovision 7 before that, and the Sound were much better than the eclipse. I had the beolab 7.2

@@upyoursVEVOshit I still own a Beovision 7 Mk III (with Beolab 7.2) and I relocated it to a bedroom after I got an Eclipse this year. Granted, the OLED screen is obviously superior to the LCD screen of the BV 7 but the picture of my 7 is still very good considering the set is now 12 years old. The Beolab 7.2 is an excellent speaker but I could not say it is better than the speaker of the Eclipse. The surround processor of the Eclipse certainly has significant improvements over the Beosystem 3 of the BV 7.
So it takes like 15-20 seconds to become watchable?! Ffs, I don't have all minute!
Gutted they don’t do this with the Purple Heart fabric, this to me is quintessential B&O
I'm sure that could be arranged through the Bang & Olufsen Bespoke Programme. If you ever do I need photos, that would look amazing! John
What is the cost?
Is the display upgradable, so the soundstage can stay and the panel be changed in the future to a 8k tv in the future for example.
Also the Beoremote One should get a small upgrade to a larger oled display, have that really nice high contrast
The display can be replaced as new LG models come out.
One think makes me wonder. When it's in speaker mode, left and right speakers are almost in the same place, so it seems like absolutely no stereo separation. Looks nice, but it's form over function :(
I know what you mean with stereo separation but I think most Harmony customers will have at least one pair of additional speakers or a surround sound configuration already in place so the Harmony speaker will be a centre channel or turned off for stereo music trough the front external speakers. If it has no speakers it still sounds nice, similar to A9 or BeoSound Edge.
For that price you'd think they'd use the G or E series LG OLED screen rather than the midrange C....
The price of the LG C9 panel is set by LG not Bang & Olufsen. You are paying no more for the Panel on Harmony than if you buy it from LG. We buy an LG panel from LG and mount it on the B&O sound centre. As the price of the LG drops, so does the Harmony. John
K - Doggy There is no difference in picture quality from C to E and W, they all use the same panel and image processor.
Hi John, would it be possible for Crestron Home to control the Harmony ?
There is a Crestron driver for Bang & Olufsen so I'm sure it can. Here is some more information on what is supported. beointegration.com/

The Beovision in the past was all B&O components with the exception of the panel. What you have is an LG TV, and B&O motorised speaker. Can you purchase the speaker only and the TV?
Yes, we buy the LG C9 77 as an LG. There will likely be some form of software addition to give it B&O menus and control. So as the price of the LG comes down so will the price of Harmony. John.

@@MrKm1066 As it stands now around £17K with the oak covers and remote. That will fall as the C9 77 gets reduced. The TV can then be replaced as new LG flagship panels are released. John.

The TV is not the full Beovision, it's more like a Beosound/Beolab speaker with a 100% LG C9 TV? Example: LG is bringing out the next generation of TV's that Rollout of a box....how do B&O keep up with this fantastic innovation? This will be on every rich person's shopping list, no matter what the cost!!

When the speakers are folded out, there are larger spaces between them at the bottom than at the top, seriously :/ and without the classic curtains when you turn it on, then it is just not quite as nice to look at. It seems more like a KIA trying to be like a Audi but at the end of the day it's still just a KIA. It has no Visionclear image engine, no automatic picture control ;) None of the parts, because it's not a B&O TV.

Hi Mike part of the vision Clear was to improve blacks and colours on an LCD or plasma, OLED does not suffer from bleed from back lights so you could argue it's not as needed on a modern screen (I do miss the curtains though). The speaker was slightly misaligned due to being a prototype shipped all over the world and installed over and over again. It has now gone back to B&O for adjustment ready for the next event.
@@BangOlufsenManchester VisionClear is the whole picture engine so it would properly apply everything from picture noise, motion flow to the automatic picture control which also are responsible for changing the gamma from the 2.4 there is the standard for dark viewing and 2.0 for day viewing. But true! the black level, judder and blur is not a problem on OLED. Anyway if B&O made the Avant with real LED zone control like on the old Beovision 7-55 and gave it HDR, then I would buy it right now :D
You are right. It was a big mistake to move away from Samsung and start a business with LG. What led to the loss of magic curtains (LG was not allowed to make this feature). And the worst thing is that wherever you go into the menu, the inscription LG content store is everywhere. It's horrible. In fact, this is LG TV with B & O sound, but not B & O TV .... sorry. We lost the idea and style of B & O. No David Lewis, No Highlight
Well, B&O had simply no choice. It is not possible to sell a top-end TV today without smart apps. With a proprietary operating system, nobody wanted to develop applications for them, particularly Netflix because the market is too small. Before the Eclipse, B&O tried with Android with mitigated results. Netflix even disabled their app. With the LG partnership, B&O got OLED screens which are considered state of the art displays, a graphics processor that supports HDR10, HLG HDR and Dolby Vision, and WebOS with ample support for third party applications. With Samsung, they would be forced to use Tizen and LCD. With the Harmony, however, they move one step farther than the Eclipse. Instead of having a screen custom built for them, they use a stock LG TV with possibly a customized WebOS. We will see this fall with the final product.
can i connect the harmony to B&O ceiling speakers?
Yes by using a Beoamp 2
Hey john Rolex watches and most other automatic watches “sweep” because of their automatic movement quartz watches on the other hand don’t move smoothly due to their respective movement

Yep, that bottom gap has to be equal to the top one or else you take the weakest part of the chain and you tear it up and bye the whole chain.
I have just got the final release version in store and I'm happy to say that the gap is millimeter perfect. John

Im not a hater but the gap in the midle is asymetric. The gap is bigger at the bottom. It would drive me crazy.
It drove me crazy every time I looked at it. This was an early prototype version that had been shipped all over the World. The final version I have in store now and the many that have been installed are all immaculate thankfully.

Built like a tank and oozing retro 4:3 charm. Love it.
Be careful when handling it now . The picture tube becomes fragile with time. I owned a MX5000 (North American version) and I accidentally shorted the picture tube when reassembling the set by dropping a screwdriver on the closed case. The metal of the electron gun starts peeling and producing small chips after all that time and these may short the electrodes if the television is accidentally hit or jarred.
What is the purpose of folding speakers?

Ok you're not going to like this but i think David Lewis would be turning in his grave with this one! yes i understand the TADA and theatre element is a B&O thing, but this is just gimmicky i feel. i like the reference to past designs eg beovox 5000 on pivots. But why on earth don't they take the lead for once and develope a beovision that has a flex oled screen that would silently descend into a speaker chamber / compartment in audio mode and then the oled panel would rise when its used as a tv. to really complete a transformation! i think the teaming up with LG is also compromising the overall package, the panel is way to thin and lacking solidity and B&O are trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Never thought I would consider paying 17,000 for a Tv, but its so so beautiful . I see it on video and you have to be blind not to get it . Jenny knows wood best 😊

It looks sick, but it costs more than 2,5x the Price of the c77 but it isn't even the best there is for sale that's oled
But, it's a lot more than a c77: you have a surround processor, a high quality center speaker and an integration hub for the rest of your Bang & Olufsen equipment. And don't forget the unique mechanism and the one remote operation. Yes, it is expensive, but it is a unique product.

@@asafari03 That's a personal decision. Everybody has his or her priorities. If spending a lot of money on an A/V system is not your cup of tea, there are plenty of cheaper alternatives. This is true for all luxury goods: cars, watches, etc
