Within such a shory period , she was voted back to power by the very Indian voters who voted her out of power . I remember how the world media reacted to Indira's return to power : she left poer as an Indian leader , but she returned to power as a world leader . If any lesson is drawn from this , it is this : Indian voters admitted their blunder in supporting Jayaprakash and other leaders . As a law aniding citizen , I fully supported the Emergency in 1975 . What happened under the Morarji Govt . was a lesson for all those who opposed the Emergency Declaration . Within such a shory period , she was voted back to power by the very Indian voters who voted her out of power . I remember how the world media reacted to Indira's return to power : she left poer as an Indian leader , but she returned to power as a world leader . If any lesson is drawn from this , it is this : Indian voters admitted their blunder in supporting Jayaprakash and other leaders . Till Jagajeevan crossed to the opposition side , the mood in India was supportive of Mrs. Gandhi .True , left alone , Mrs. Gandhi heavily depended on her son Sanjay , who was instrumental for most of the political crimes that happened during the emergency period .We must remember , Sanjay , even as a boy , was a problem for even to his grand father . Under Achutha Menon as Kerala CM , Keralites had a golden period of rule here and this was revealed in the election in 1977 , when most other states stood against Mrs. Gandhi and her party , Kerala gave her a landslide Victory . After having enjoyed all the benefits of Emergency , what Jagajeevan ram did was a treachery of the worst kind . I remember how people called him later : Gajaveeran Ram .
