Just binged the whole series from beginning to end… it feels so sad that it’s over but man, now I understand why the show is so iconic and loved by so many it’s truly a timeless classic!
@@lnl3237 I am a huge cheers fan, but I like the Rebecca years ten times more than the Diane years. That means I can watch Rebecca episodes ten times in a row without getting bored; Diane’s, but once.
@@Glum1964 Thank you for responding. Diane and Rebecca were polar opposites as characters as were the actresses that portrayed them. I thought both Shelley Long and Kirstie Alley were excellent comedic actresses. Viewers seem really split on who they prefer.
I was a teenager back in the 80's, and my favorite TV show from that decade is "Scarecrow And Mrs. King," but I also love "Cheers." TV from the 80's is so much better than the crap that's on TV now! I wish we could go back to the days when everything was more family-friendly.
Yup. It’s No. 1 on my list. Think Rolling Stone magazine recently ranked it No. 2 on its all-time sitcom best of list. Think The Simpsons took the top spot.
This is really sad. Cheers was one of my favourite shows to watch when I was little. I always thought she was so pretty, funny, and cool. I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about her. Rest In Peace 💔
@@FactsVerse All of them I prefer the early years with Shelley Long but I still like Kirstie Alley too the cast is comparable to an All-Star Hall of Fame Sports Team it is Ridiculously good. One of the biggest stars today,in almost everything that comes out..And was my favorite when I finally started watching Cheers with my parents Woody Harrelson 👏🏼…I was in my twenties then now mine and Mr.Harrelson has same haircut..
Cheers, from the beginning to the sad final episode was just fantastic, it was my favourite tv show on a Friday night back in the 1980’s/90’s.. and I still re watch any episode that’s reshown on tv yet. The place where everyone knew your name. 👍👍👍👍

Rebecca as so much more natural than Diane, funnier, (definitely sexier), and was on the show a year longer...yet she never gets credited as even being a part of the gang. Woody and Frasier as additions after season 3 also made the show not miss Diane at all. The show was just better after her departure, as even Sam's stories could then be varied and more interesting. It was a show that got better the longer it ran, and even the best episodes of Frasier were the ones where the cast members came back.
you're out of your mind! Rebecca was a cartoon compared to Diane. Diane is the most full fledged character in all of Cheers. The character actually completes her journey at the end of the show. She becomes what she set out to accomplish. The fact that they didn't let Sam end with her was to not make the other characters look worst than what they were at that point.
It's hard to remember Kirstie once was as crazy hot as in that thumbnail, not only because of her physical change, but because she since has become ACTUALLY crazy.
Okay....I saw pics of what must be at least one deleted scene between Sam and Diane in her apartment during their first time together WITH HER STUFFED ANIMALS on the floor lol....sorry Diane ...I meant your friends...lol where is this scene people?

We feel the same way. We miss the show. Which Cheers episode made a lasting impression on you?
Curious if you enjoyed the Diane years more or less than the Rebecca years. Or if you liked them equally for different reasons.
I would plan every Thursday night around Cheers. I never missed an episode. Watched it many more times on Netflix

Oh man I just wanna crawl back into the 80's and stay there. Such good times, good tv shows and good music.
Leaves these so called reality shows for dead any time hey.
Same
Back in those days those shows had writers that were not afraid to make jokes to make fun of each other that's what made it so good
Before computers, Facebook, twitter, cell phones.... ruined everything and everybody!!!!!

Shelley Long is just a gem
I wish I were alive when this show aired. Truly something special to have an old Box tv, wait every week for a new episode. Awesome.
Sam’s groin injury rap is gold. And when Norm walks into the bar and Baby Frederick says Norm! 😂
