- The Highlander is one of the sturdiest Inner Sphere Assault Mechs. Today we utilize the chassis as an anchorpoint in the team's firing line. Equipped with 3 Large Lasers and an MRM 30 it can deal good early- to mid-game damage. In the late game the LB 10-X autocannon comes on and deals some nice critical damage to what's left of your enemies.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

This "meat shield" build reminds me: It might be funny if there was an achievement for taking a LOT of damage before going down.

i've been dropping my cool shots for more artillery strikes these days.
Nothing stop the nascar when you drop them in front of your own team and force them into a fire line.

@@hamishmarshall7782 I was inspired by someone who said didn't you know playing an atlus was dead.. then proceeded to get 5 kills after corralling them into a forward and fire match.
Besides the damage, strikes have another power in psychological warfare from the smoke
I've held off an enemy nascar single handedly with a bushRACer and double strikes
Had the enemy team just rushed me they would have blown me apart..but instead they waited to die from my team catching up
love the Highlander. Seriously underrated mech even today!
Baradul there is a bug with left torso armour on the 732b. Take it down to something like 2/3 rear armour, allocate all the remainder to the front and the total armour pool displayed ticks up by like 1 or 2 points. It's a cheap trick but it makes the left side more tanky and the dead left arm even better for using as a shield (it's very large)
Have to so only reason i want the Highlander in mwo is cause of Battletech, that stock build you get from the star league cache mission just wrecked everything and the gauss rifle didn't suck to high hell.

Highlander without jump jets is no Highlander.
It's a Lowlander!
You need jump jets for a "Highlander Burial", also you need impact damage to be properly modelled. I've accidentally landed my jumping mechs on enemies heads so often, I wish it would crush their cockpits!
I really do like this build, but would you consider swapping out the MRM for maybe an ATM launcher considering the new changes to lock on for the missiles?

there are only a handful of mechs that can casually tank against a dire wolf. and the highlander is the king of face tanking damage lol.

Pisses me off that the gauss slot is not sitting on top of the shoulder like it was in the og book.

Highlander is a very fun mech to play and definetly nice to see this specific variant :D
I personaly run it with 3 MLs, MRM30 or 40 (forgot) and RAC/2 + RAC/5.
Despite its size it is suprisingly tanky and splashes damage around very well. Sadly very easy to headshot.
I don have one question, you rarely if ever fit an AMS on the builds you post. Could you try incorporating AMS on more showcase builds so we can all fight the LRM blight together?

I was thinking about buying an Highlander as well, that Variant looks like what i would play. My thoughts were bit different in terms of the Loadout, when i played enough Division 2, that Mech looks like a pickup. Thy

I don't understand all you Young people, why you sit indoors with your heads in the computer in a beautiful spring wheather like this. When I was your age, my mom would have made sure, by lock and key, the I got to be outside playing in the sun the whole day long.
