Damn this is the realest vendor ever. He's not afraid to tell the truth
Retailer.
Yes more of this! this is great content. Love your work Harry! Sending lots of love from Sydney Australia
Hear hear bruh!
Spoiler alert: What they don't do well is quality control.
My racquets were 5 grams apart 🤦♂️
@@nathanwen2701 5 grams is actually not bad. But check the swingweight, that's the real deal breaker
I agree with you. 5 grams is a whole lotta graphite
@@2ndAveScents hey man, you are entitled to your own opinion. But did you know that an overgrip weighs more than 5 grams? Did you know a vibration dampener also weighs more than 5 grams? I'm willing to bet most people wouldn't notice the change in weight caused by these things. Thus, 5 grams is actually not a big deal for static weight. Balance and swingweight are more important
@Hunt Mike Depends where the 5 grams is. You could quite easily add 5g lead to make up for a racquet being 5g under spec.
I like this guy. He don't try to sell everything and it's hard with the bad goods of the brands.
Love this content Harry. Your channel has helped me get back into tennis. Thanks from Ireland 👍👍
My favorite Wilson racquet I ever owned was the Profile 3.6. I rode that racquet for YEARS until the frame splintered during a tournament match and I was forced to go to a back-up.
I‘ve been watching your channel for a few weeks now. Thank you so much!! I‘ve learned so much... Keep going!!
The new series is a great idea, looking forward to seeing it!
I really love this kind of content / series. Keep it up.
Love this series idea! Great episode.
Awesome idea, great topic for a series. Keep up the good work Harry!!💪💪
Quite accurate on everything:
- Wilson Raquets quality control is really poor, too much "volatilty" between pairs; probably the best in matching raquets is Yonex
- As for balls, nothing to say, they're good balls, nothing exeptional but definitely not bad.
- Wilson overgrip is my choice of use, but onestly I tried it many years ago because of RF but I've never had regret
- I actually like their Poly strings, here in Italy is named Wilson Sensation, don't know if it's the same.
- I've had their replacement grips on my sticks, always covered with overgrips, but I think they're quite good.
- Definetly agree on the bags, had one for some years but I had to throw it away before the white plastic material started to deteriorate and come off
love this. Cant wait to see your thoughts on other brands
Direct and honest, love it. Just bought my first Blade, sounds like wish me luck if I decide to buy a second.
great vids, man please keep them coming....
I love the spin you are putting on my tennis. Very enlightening videos! Could you do a video that shows all of the tools you use to string and where to buy them?
Love Gu Mondays and Company Tuesdays! Look forward to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday or even the weekend hahaha sorry Harry needs a rest from spinning videos too:-)
Great video, looking forward to your review of the others especially head bc i use their rackets
Thanks a lot. Very useful and helpful review 👍
Love this series
So, 5 wilson employees watched this video, already.
4 more Wilson employees came into the office
sat down to watch the video. Its now 9 altogether
11 now
I like this. Do one for Head too!
Totally agree with your statements - reflecting my experience as well. 👍
Very good intro to the products of Wilson. Have more videos. Thanks
Great idea!
Excellent and honest analysis!
Yes, it sounds like a great content you have chosen I believe we all will benefit from these vídeos. 👍💪🎾. 🇧🇷
Harry thank you for this channel you have given me so much entertainment in my new love for the sport
I remember enjoying their NXT strings for a while, though now I rely on Stringforum's top choices, usually Luxilon. I remember one of their shoes being ok, though New Balance is generally better for wide feet.
Your UA-cam channel is my must see tv. Keep it up.....13k!!!!! Congrats!!!!
thank you!!!
I agree with you in all the points! Great video! Meetings from Argentina! I like so much this type of content
Fantastic review 👍
Great UA-cam tennis channel!! Congrats! Pls make a video showing that Pro Staff, looks like it's new
When I started to play back in the day (1970) racquets were made of wood and the Jack Kramer Signature Autograph was really good. I started string racquets in a Pro Shop and the Jimmy Connors Wilson T2000 metal racquet was definitely a challenge to string.
I still have my Wilson US Open bags from the 90's-2000's and love it. The black/yellow colorway bags. Have not played in the last 15 yrs due to work. I also have my Wilson Hammer racquets in storage. Will be getting back into tennis this summer.
thanks for leaking and showing a preview of the new RF "signiture" racquet haha. loved the pause ;)
Spot. On. Especially their racquet QV, bags, and replacement grips. I really appreciate hood honesty and candor with products. TW used to be more open but I feel like they straddle the line to much with their reviews and I detest having to read “in between the lines.” Not with Tennis Spin and his honesty with the customers and fans.
Harry. You've done a great video and analysis about Wilson. I agree with you about the Pro Staff, I have not had the opportunity to test the other two models you mention, so I can't give my oppinion about them. The bad thing about Wilson for me is that they do not have an data bank of the racket models that they have manufactured previously: I just asked them about a model that I just got and they DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
I love the Trinitis. They play well and last a long time. Great for practice use!
Well done. I’m a Yonex Brand guy.
Nice video mate !!
Lol the intro music is mad emotional
I agree with you on basically 100% of what you have said in this video. Hope to see a quality improvement on Wilson products on sticks and bags! I hope to see also the shoes compartment in their bags on day as well the other manufacturers... Don't know why they are not considering this option. Cheers! 😉
When is Dunlop and technifiber coming Harry, love this series xD
Enjoy your vids.
I’m a Yonex fan personally. Used many Wilson racquets over the years but couldn’t reconcile the lack of QC. I play with the DR98 and VCP HD.
Very interesting, thanks ! Love your sincerity. I have the old black Wilson bag you were talking about and yes, it is comfortable and practical, with a decent look. Regards from South America!
I have 4 RF 97s and have had 2 before, and the weight of the 2 heaviest was 8 grams more than the 2 lightest. Swing weight and balance are very important and I've noticed significant differences which I rectify with lead tape. Next time I'll get them matched from the start, great raquet though. The sponge grip they make is excellent, even if you don't sweat a lot. No issues with paint.
Exactly my experience too... I have 1 V11 and 3 V12 racquets and everyone has a different overall weight and a different swing weight. I also used to string them with Champ's Choice but the Nat, Gut was crap. Now I buy Luxilon ALU rough and Klip gut. It save a few bucks and lasts a lot longer.
I had one with paint peeling off which Wilson replaced.
Bravo Harry! Well said. Wilson Pro Overgrip is best for the $. The Wilson Advantage grip is the best quality.
Yep. That’s my favorite.
I use Wilson pro overgrip. I string my 12 year old's racquet with Wilson sensation, mostly because it is the cheapest available multi. My daughter and wife both wear Rush Pro 2.5 and will be getting the 3.0 next year. They used to wear Nike Vapor X but we got tired of them getting worn out in 3 months and needing to get them in wide width. Rush Pro 2.5 is a great shoe! Agreed that the bags look crappy except for the Fed bags. The Blade is super popular. I have not seen the Clash around my courts although I recommend it to anybody looking to move up from a recreational racquet.
Great video. Agree on almost everything you said except on the NXT. I don’t use it any more, I go full bed poly now, but as far as synth gut goes it’s kind of the gold standard.
Love their over grips, no one else’s even come close. I own (and play) w pro staff 97 CVs, and can’t bring myself to get rid of my Clash 100s. Wilson racquets are the best IMO- only Yonex comes close.
Funny on the Tungsten - I just got a pack in the mail today from Tennis Express. Was going to weight one of my Clashes to see if I’d like it more closer 315g unstrung. Hope the tape just doesn’t fall off.
Craig Shapiro , stays on my racket just fine, but my racket is not a Wilson...
@Craig Shapiro: I’d be more worried about a chunk of Wilson paint detaching off the racket along with the tungsten tape! 😅
Paint finishing quality isn’t especially great with the recent Wilson racquets! 😫
Jerome Morrow truth! I’ve got chips up and down my clashes and pro staffs. Pro staffs I’ve had 3 months but you’d think they were 5 years old by the chipping.
Can you talk about Yonex next?
I am done with Wilson. Not getting their products anymore. Switching to other brands...
Most boring video ever....Yonex makes everything great.
@@Doty6String Japanese take pride in their work
I think that all product of Yonex is better that brand very commercial like Wilson head and babolat
That Pro Staff!!!😍😍😍
I love the Wilson Blade V7 and Blade V8. That's what I play with. Haven't had any problems with paint
Great vid thanks! Can you take a look at Volkl soon please?
I agreed everything you said and I prefer the Dunlop balls.
that´s why I love this channel and subscribed, you don´t say everthing is good, you´re hones and you don´t wanna sell stuff that you know by yourself that is trash or "garbage" =) keep going
Agree 100%. I did have to warranty a ultra tour due to paint and they replaced it without any hassle. Great customer service, but the quality is lacking a bit.
I like the feel of both strings because they are good on the arm, shoulder&elbow. But, the durability of Sensation and NXT can definitely be enhanced to make customers return for the string and they are pricy. My Federer canvas bag is sooo much a better bag. Partnering with other string companies is a great Wilson idea.
I'm a great fan of the Wilson Pro Staff line and the Spin series racquets.
Great stuff Harry, can we get a similar Volkl video...I hear a lot of good things but I feel that their different racquets are very polarizing
Tennis warehouse would have said that everything wilson makes is amazing and we should buy it from there website 😂 thanks for being unbias! Very refreshing.
"Wilson - We make good racquets with the worst QC out there" This should be their motto.
That's what happen when you mass produce in China.
@Hunt Mike Head manufactures in china and their QC is way better than wilson
@Hunt Mike. China can make very high quality. It just depends on what the principle is willing to pay! BTW Wilson is a Chinese owned company now. Anta Sports bought over Amer Sports that owns Wilson in 2019. Anta makes many great products especially basketball shoes.
@Hunt Mike It's a bit racist to make such a blanket statement about Chinese people based on a product coming from an AMERICAN company . Poor QC comes from greedy companies knowing they can get away with it because they've monopolized the market. Buy from companies with better QC such as Yonex or Angell. This all comes down to corporations being complacent and not caring about the quality of their product. Only thing we can do is take our dollars elsewhere.
@Hunt Mike Good Job! Grown man who doesn't know how to dicuss issues such as quality control in a civilized manner but instead chooses to insult people. People like you are the reason why the tennis community sucks.
Very nice and truly sincere review. I would add several points.
1. I was surprised but signum pro over grip is not worse than wilson rivalry. wilson ones unquestionably best
2. Recycled balls should had been issuaed in traditional box, as most of people scared by ехрerience with no pressure tretorn.
3. Pro Staff rf97 is excellent racket but shape of it differs from rf97l.
Shockshield replacement grips rock
I love the us open tennis ball smell and I love using it.
Excellent job, congratulations! I am waiting for the HEAD chapter. Maybe tomorrow? :)
Thank u
According to tenniswarehouse podcast seems like they fixed the feel on the upcoming prostaff, thank god!
The hard shell bags were very good.
wilson poly strings are verrry slept on. revolve is awesome stuff at a decent price
1:20 definitely that is the new PS RF97
Can you make a vid like this but about Babolat ?
I bought the Wilson Pill bag that Fed used for 10 minutes. The most expensive bag I ever bought ..... the strap broke in less than 6 months, not to mention that it was impossible to carry over the shoulder as it had a weird balance so always wanted to come off your shoulder .... Shocking design, as if no one actually tested it once it was made .... totally crazy. Will NEVER buy a Wilson bag ever again. I may play with the Clash but I carry it in a Tecnifibre bag.
Make the next video for Babolat please:) Great video!
Been playing with NXT comfort or power 17g in the mains and Luxilon Element rough 16g in the crosses at 57/55 on an 18x20 and so far it’s a pretty good combo.
I’m pretty sure that the new prostaff!! Looks nice. I’ve heard good things about it
Pls make a video about your personal all around tennis rackets..
Cheers from Chile Harry. I use Blade raquets, love them, but that’s true about the painting. Wilson shoes (Kaos) were pretty good too. Wilson balls....prefer Dunlop’s.
Btw when would you present us the new pro staff can’t wait to see the design and specs
Hi from chile 🇨🇱. Excellent video!! How about string savers? Have you ever use it?
The Hyper Prostaff 6.0 was the last Wilson I used really. I own a couple Hyper Carbon Tour 95s but they just dont feel the same. I cant believe Wilson doesnt make anything smaller than a 97in head anymore.
I have 4 Pro Staff RF two match up exactly one is 5g heavier one 9g . The 9g really makes a difference I use it for very slow conditions only. But also the two that are the same plays different . One is much more stiffier any plays like another raquet. I bought this one a year later maybe that´s the reason why. But man I like the feel of the Pro Staff. Had the 90 and 95 before with even more feel but more difficult two play in the defence. Tried Dunlop and Head before but I always lost the feel during a game with these.
Hello , thanks for all your vids.....Wilson triad xp review ,,,,,,,,please
Love your spin on Tennis Warehouse's Brandography. Can't wait till your episode on Head. I've never been a fan of Wilson. Although, that pro overgrip is hard to beat.
Yonex Super Grap.
Please try to do more of the brandiography as you did with Prince. Who founded Wilson? How many times has ownership changed hands? Where in China do they make the racquets, etc. Keep up the good work Harry.
I bought a case of Trinity balls right before Covid hit and I haven't had the chance to use them yet.
I’m definitely in the market for a new racquet! Can I order from you?
Thanks for the great content. Your channel has brought me joy during Distance Learning Kindergarten. I look forward to seeing what is new everyday. And playing tennis, of course.
Wilson Sublime - one of the best base grips I played with. no paint chipping before 2013 and poly strings rubish from Wilson. thats my opinion
What happened to Wilson's matched racquets? Back when the PS Hyper Tour was the RF racquet, I had a matched pair. How do their player racquets differ? I have always liked the PS since the move away from wood. One of the most beautiful racquets they ever made was the Wilson Advantage. Any memories of that classic?
Interesting about the Wilson/Luxilon pairing. I used to like the Luxilon Elite Dry grips, but just bought a 30 pack and it literally disintegrates while you wrap it. When I contacted Luxilon about it, the contact forwarded me on to Wilson.
Nice. Would you make videos covering other companies, specially Tecnifibre and Dunlop? Thanks
Really appreciate the honesty in your videos! Why would you buy champions choice over a pack of each? $60 for 2 sets vs $40 for 1? Is there something different?
How can you touch up the paint on a Wilson Clash? Or would you recommend spray painting the whole racket?
Champions Choice Strings are the best.. Especially on my Red RF97..
Love Wilson prostaff racquets..never used anything else.. been used from Chris Evert, Stefan Edberg, Jim Courier, Steffi Graf, Pete Sampras, and uses by Roger Federer.
I vouch for Wilson sublime grips but I use overgrips as well though. Theyre just right if you like tweener racquets but thats just me.
Got the US Open balls and a matching US Open racquet from 2005 ish. Might get the Clash next 😉
This is why i like the small vendors and not the big sellers. Honesty!!! Always, always go to your local small vendors if they exist! support there knowledge and effort!
i love the trinity balls, last very long. replacement grips suck. no issue with the paint.
Have you had many customers try to switch from oversize to mid plus racquets to assist single backhand racquet head speed and control ? 🎾
Why don't you like NXT, and what would you recommend as a soft, arm-friendly replacement?
For a present to a beginner recreational player... would Clash 108 or Graphene 360+ Gravity Lite be good choices? Which one would you recommend?
