  • We are going to build a chicken coop from pallets and reclaimed wood. The goal is to do this using just pallets and reclaimed wood. The goal is the keep the cost as low as possible. We will discuss cots one the project is complete.

      @@graybeardgarage9638 I'll upload pics once its sheeted. I just have the frame itself done. Its close to 100 sq ft as we have a big property.

    I like the design of your chicken coop however you need to be aware of the following facts on your pallets you do not use anything except for HT because MB is methyl bromide which is what your blue pallets are methyl bromide is a very dangerous substance to human beings. Like I said I like your design but using the red and the blue is pretty much a no no when it comes to anything that you're building you need to use where it's marked HT which stands for heat treated. Again I hope I didn't offend you I just wanted to let you know that's not what you use

    Not trying to be a "karen" I'm just trying to pass along information that may prevent you from having issues in the future...
    So Blue and Red pallets are only rented or leased to customers. The blue pallets are owned by CHEP and Red pallets are owned by PECO. Both companies are very particular about people using their pallets and I personally know people (well a person) charged with theft for using them on a build and heard of numerous individuals sued. Even using them without a contract with the company is considered theft.
    I promise I'm not trying to a jack wagon just thought you may (or may not) be interested in the information.
