This is funny, because it can apply to any people. In college I had a friend who was from the State of Alabama and she said she had one sister and five brothers and her father didn't want girls because "They use to much toilet paper." I laughed at that and never forgot it, thinking how cheap her father must have been.

This is funny. This is how many South Asian men I know play the Four Yorkshiremen games. I know a couple of men who will hold forth at length on the most thrifty ways to boil rice (it involves preserving the ricewater to add lime for drinks tomorrow). I think it honors the wisdom of older family members.

The twisting around the mother in law when she was praying. The daughter wipping on her headscarf ever time the dad walks in the room. The fact that most of the show when outside the house takes place in the mosque. Islam seems to be the main theme of the show.
