Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua (Washington), a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife (Chan), is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war… and mankind itself. Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory… only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.
The film’s screenplay is by Gareth Edwards and Chris Weitz, from a story by Edwards. The producers are Gareth Edwards, p.g.a., Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, p.g.a., and Arnon Milchan. The executive producers are Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Nick Meyer, and Zev Foreman.
The Creator, directed by Gareth Edwards, opens in theaters on September 29, 2023.

It reminds me of Space Sweepers. The stories have their differences, but both revolve around a robotic child that the military wants because they deem her dangerous.

This looks amazing 🤩 . It looks like a Neil Blomkamp inspired remake of the The Golden Child 😂. Can’t wait.
Calling it now, the mechanism of this ‘weapon’ is that it inspires such empathy in human beings that the war ends via mutual ceasefire. The danger is poses is one of love and vulnerability.
John is really carrying on his fathers legacy of making some pretty cool movies. Love to see it as Denzel is the all time Goat.

John David Washington is such a well-rounded and class actor, with great genes too with his father being Denzel Washington.
Hollywoods record of producing movies indirectly reflecting societies newest fears is a funny trend if you’re observant. Nonetheless the movie looks great

The Golden Child vibes, but 🔥
My only complaint is how at 1:43 the Asian lady has no accent but at 1:52 she is full-on accent. If people don’t naturally have an accent, they shouldn’t be forced to fake one. Natural accents are great but having actors fake them just feels so off, especially if they’re not consistent with the accent.
