- Check out Maddie's video at girl_av8r.
We finally got both planes up at the same time. We were able to capture some "air to air" shots and Maddie finally got to take a passenger up that wasn't her dad/flight instructor. Great day!
It is such a treat to see your flying videos. With school out so much earlier maybe Maddie can earn her instrument ticket. Blessings to all of you!
Instrument ticket is in the works. The Cirrus was supposed to help with that. I just need to brush up on my CFII skills. It's been awhile!
Awesome. Looks like you all had a lot of fun. GREAT FLYING.....
Looking at this from another angle. A lot of us have taught our children to drive. That seeming simple task at times caused family friction. Such as my wife telling me the next one is mine, you teach him! Now let’s look at flying. Well there goes the simplicity. A whole lot more to do and learn. Like 100 X. For a father to assume the role of instructor requires a special family chemistry. The students are going to need to accept a lot of corrections from the instructor, no Dad! I see this in all of your flying posts. Congratulations to the four of you. Yes we cannot forget Mom, as she Supplies the moral support to the three of you.
None of this happens without Mom! Thanks, Ken!
Nice flying...very good indeed...👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thanks Jim for a lovely video of Maddie's first "private pilot" passenger flight. There was a ton of excitement in your voice (a very proud dad moment!). Maddie is such a cool cucumber in her demeanor, and that greaser of hers, lol. Daniel, the willing "victim", as if he wouldn't, seemed to survive nicely intact. Some neat fun. You've cheered up my day down here in quarantined New Zealand, where mostly all our passenger turboprops are all parked up, David
You are doing great Maddie,,,, you do a really nice job on your videos...Thanks for all you do...
It was fun to see this both from your POV and Maddie's
She's such a great pilot....amazing landings.
I would fly with her in a heartbeat. Very safe and great trainer.
That was a really cool video...what fun!! Thanks for taking us along! :-). Don/NE Ohio
As of now I'm studying for my IRA exam while the testing center is closed during this Cova-19 and keeping my distance from my CFII to be safe and I'm ready to get back in the air . Great to see you all and God is in Control over everything.
Some great shots there, Jim! Loved the different points of view from each aircraft. Looked like fun!
It's amazing the airspeed difference between the Cirrus and the Cessna - like a Ford Mustang against a Ford Escort, lol. Impressive! Thanks for sharing. 👍🍻
I liked the shot of me passing her so much, I put it in TWICE!
@@quinnjim - 😁👍🍻
Watch out Thunderbirds! Looked like lots of fun, except that 150 wake scared me a little 😅. Thanks for the ride along.
This looks like it’s so much fun.
Maddie you representing Liberty University Aviation and I love it
Great video! I especially like the part where you flew over my house at Turnberry ;-)
Nice neighborhood.
Great pick on the shades, I alway thought you would look great on black aviator Ray Bans glasses, so hot.
that was a wonderful video. One can easily see how proud you are of your kids. Special bond going on there. Some instruction on not blowing the hangar full of dust might be in order too lol
nice mr quinnjim! very cool!
Excellent wonderful flight n fun im excited . Love to be there
Great video, great piloting, I see Liberty being affected by this virus. Be safe up there. Be safe out there.
It's pretty much shut down. Some fake news outlets are reporting that Liberty demanded all students return. Not true.
quinnjim that’s what I thought. Love you all’s videos. I remember flying formation with some friends in NY metro area. 3 c150’s flew mostly over deer park area. What a thrill. Next formation was 29 helicopters inserting a company of soldiers in combat zone in Vietnam.
Nice Job Guys... ';-) thanks for the Rides!
That Cirrus sure is a cool aircraft (OK, so is the 150, but...). Does Maddie ever not grease a landing?
Been a lot of GA traffic out of KFYV the last few weeks-we live right under the pattern and the spotting is good. Working from home I can run outside every time I hear an aircraft approaching. The kids make sure to alert me :-) Yesterday a C-130 was out - incredible when flying low!
Thanks for all the quality content. Best regards to you all!

Thanks, Dan. I was surprised to see all the planes flying yesterday. I guess we can't infect anyone if we stay inside of cars/planes!
Way to go Maddie!
Quinnjimm dad of the year
You are too kind, Benny. Thanks!
Next, maybe a dogfight? Blessed family. Cheers!
I need to mount some lasers on the planes so we can dogfight and record hits and misses!
That looked like fun. 👍👍👍
Nice flying Maddie
I followed from the solo to her first passenger how cool is that. Was this flight before all this crazy virus hit?
Be careful and be safe.
Glad to have you along for the ride!
So have I Michael. It certainly has been interesting and a delight.
Hey Quinnjim....?? Do you fly for an Airlines...?? Meaning....are you an airline pilot...?? Or do you just fly these smaller planes for enjoyment..??
Thanks, Steven
I'm an airline Captain in the U.S.
@@quinnjim Awsome.....thanks....: )
Typical generation Z... Does she choose the mother who gave birth to her, bandaged her scraped knees and taught her about the world to be her first passenger; no, she chooses her boyfriend. Then again, if the boyfriend survives the first flight I guess it's safe for her mother. 😁 Keep up the great videos and above all, stay healthy and safe!
G Bean - Thank you for your concern. I am her mother and fully supported her choice for her first passenger! 😊 Glad you liked the video!
@@BaerMama You rock Mum! It's a tough role raising 3 kids, especially that much older male, and keeping him in line, lol!
You are no doubt, very proud of your kid's achievements, and of Maddie's most recent! You and Maddie will no doubt soon go flying for some "$100" lunches :)
Cheers from NZL, David (I've got a gorgeous girl a little older than your gorgeous one, and 2 slightly younger sons)
Very nice family Fun Day, Does Maddie ever make a bad landing? she comes in , mild flare, sets it down, no games, every time, we need to see her Blooper reel Jim...lol
She never makes a bad landing......on UA-cam!
@@quinnjim Great answer Dad, still loving the videos, Thanks, you guys are close to 310 pilot who I also follow out of Aurora
@@callmepokey1 He's about 20 miles South of me. I told him I'd give him a ride to pick up his plane in Wisconsin (when it was getting some avionics work done). He hasn't taken me up on it yet. Cool channel.
@@quinnjim yeah I think a friend from the avioncs place came and flew him in to get it, the 310 is down here in Florida being painted at Zepher hills by Tampa. maybe someday you all can do a breakfast meet up....nice chatting, great kids you have.
@@quinnjim 771BC is STILL in the paint shop way down south. Looking forward to Kev's flights to get her! :)
QCA: Quinnimum Controllable Airspeed that was. ;)
Caution Wake Turbulence Departing Cessna 150!!!!!!!!!
Nice!
Cessna light....
But do you really got me??? A little reality check now and again doesn't hurt.
Coolest dad ever! If you need another son, im not busy ;-)
I'll put you down as an alternate!
I'm curious if Maddie is still in contact (internet friends) with my son, Alex Montgomery. They began training at about the same time and age. If you don't mind, ask her.
I think they follow each other on Instagram.
@@quinnjim I've really enjoyed following her through the process thus far, Jim. The videos are great. Please keep them coming.
We did a couple of GoPro videos (one camera behind him) during his private ticket training. Shot the always special first solo.
Well there is something you have been looking forward to for a while now I'll bet, who wouldn't, that was cool to even be able to feel like we got to ride along with you. Now how are you going to beat this experience...lol I know I'm looking forward to finding out. Thanks Jim for sharing this one!!!
Thanks for the nice comment, Dick!
Thumbs up #325 from NC
