Whoisthisgit, likely the developers did not expect two players to run out of lives at the same time. Happened to me and my dad as well. I managed to glitch the glitch as I got out of the frozen screen.
the game was very confused as to what menu to render first as the death happened at the same time. if this is the case, i deduced that the programer who did SOR did not anticipated a simultaneus death and coded only 1 buffer for a button input when doing a continue. in short the game just fucked up when both player died at the same time because of an internal menu conflict.
I looked at the thumbnail and confused it for an Alien Soldier gameplay clip (it, too has a HUD with multiple health bars on it, one of which is a bright yellow)
In reference to the first glitch... There is something similar in the fanmade Streets of Rage remake, when the same enemy type attempts to grab you. Dodge their grab and they will still do the throwing animation without throwing anyone. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but it does make those punks easier to beat on whilst they are distracted.
for the continue glitch where it is stucked when both player died at the same time here is the reason. ive been working on some prototype game of my own using game maker and the coding logic is much the same so here is what happen. when a player died and asked to use a continue, the game makes a new window or in this case, selection. however when another menu have to be rendered, the old window must be ignored thus the player 1's control being fucked up. the same goes to P2. -continued
One I just found: If you die in a 2 player game on a boss,if you don't enter your initials in if you need to,and player 2 beasts the boss,you get game over automatically.
Does anyone know the game genie code that changes the music of the first level to a track that isn't in the game's playlist at all? I used to have such a code, but I lost it...
I hated those fire breathing guys because I couldn't throw them. Think I almost hit the roof with joy when I could throw them in SOR 2. Then when I tried to throw one in SOR 3 and he fell on me I think I actually screamed "D'OH!!!"
As they may be obviously playing on a emulator, which is maybe correct, their controller plugins (Or the virtual controller from the Emulator) bugged up and didn't respond.

This may happen because of constant button mashing that bugs up the controller.

Um... Fusion has a capability to speed up gameplay, like most emulators do. It simply removes the frame limiter.

I know how you feel about that bland level. It's the most boring level and the music doesn't help.
