    Thanks for this video I did the Overland Track 34 years ago as a Venture Scout. It makes me want to do it again. I have a long way to go to get to the fitness level I need but I'm going to make it a goal.

      Thanks! Yep most amazing sunrise I've seen - So calm and peaceful, birds singing, platypus swimming around, fog on the river, sunlight beaming through the trees and fog, clouds rolling over the mountain in the background - Love it!

    Brian, congratulations on, yet again, another piece of great film-making. The Overland has just popped-up on my radar and the documentation of your hike serves as a valuable 'message in a bottle' to those who might plan for it in the future. So thanks. Your mixture of video and stills is expertly compiled and edited. Above all, the story of a group of good friends enjoying the wilderness is what stands out for me. If I may be so bold as to suggest another creative skill to include in your work: zoom in map scenes with dynamic track routes that show the day's segment which is to be traversed--icing on the cake, I realise. BTW: I will never get the image of a human impersonating a dead wombat out of my head. The Prom is forever tainted. Keep up the great work :)

      Thanks! I wouldn't quite say expert... Thanks for the tips too, I might have to put something like that in for the next one. I'd love to improve my story telling and also impersonate more dead things. cheers!

      I forgot to ask: What's your video/camera hardware and the software used? Have you considered the Great Ocean Walk? It's not-too-far away and really film-worthy!

    Well done! - mean taking great shots and video while hiking, and then put it all together.
    One error I noticed - repeat at about 9-40, and then the same at about 10-18 (Du Cane hut)

    Beautiful scenery from the top of mountains, but you did not show much of the rainforest, what was the most interesting for me there. Pitty I could not climb mountains because of bad weather (blizzard in December). Your shots from Mt. Ossa are the best!

    Well done on a great film. A combination of fantastic footage and photography. Beautiful. Opening track is a killer. Out of curiousity, what do you edit in?

    hi if i want to take a photo, which is like the picture between 0:58 to 1: 09, how long should i spend on walk? which track should i pick, because i only have 3 to 4 hours, is that enough for walk to here, and how about travel here on June or July ?

    • @BrianDoecke
      @BrianDoecke  9 років тому

      Zhexi Tony Zhang Not sure if 3 hours is really long enough. You need a day to climb up Cradle mountain and back down again - plus you need to take your time to enjoy the view (and take some photos)!

    Hey man, if you don't mind answering, what was your budget for this trip? Interested in going toward the end of the year.

    • @BrianDoecke
      @BrianDoecke  10 років тому

      Yo, an overland track pass during peak season costs about $200, food under $100 (we eat - and drink - pretty well), transport to and from the track can be pretty pricey too so do some research and shop around and you could save a bunch - OR you can get a national parks pass for $30 and go from walls of jerusalem, through the never never and back onto the last part of the overland track. (which we did in April, just as awesome as the overland!)

    You go on some decent hikes and make some good videos of your trips but your choice of music is abysmal!.

      The music of Phillip Glass or Lucinda Williams might suit the scenery better.

      Music is so subjective at any time, so there won't be a 'one size fits all' solution. Goodness knows, the supermarkets try and it never works for them! So in the end there is always the volume control 😉
