My daughter called me frantic about her Tigua making engine rattle noise. My 21 year old grandson who knows it all, told me he changed several parts that Autozone said it needed due to camshaft timing codes etc. It was still making the noise so he called me. I have been an oilfield mechanic for 50 years but my grandson thinks I know nothing about new tech stuff. Well I get there and the first thing I do is check the high tech dipstick and found no oil on it. I filled it with oil and it is quiet as a mouse. VW says if it's low on oil the VVT and timing sensor will give timing codes. It needs a full crankcase to operate correctly. It seems dipsticks of today are the same as 50 years ago and 21 year olds still think they know it all as when I was 21.
You only need to hand tighten new oil filter on
So 5W30 that was used for my oil change in a 2018 SEL PREMIUM was not the proper oil?
You can use it 5W 30 is you live in a warmer climate.
Which screwdriver and piece u use? I need the specific cause the pack I buy none of them doesn’t work for it.
T25 torx bit screw driver tip.

Not sure for 2009, I have 2013. VW uses torx screw drivers set not regular screw drivers set. That is why I put the links in the bottom.

to all you VW owners out there: how has your oil consumption been? Do you have to add oil between oil changes? how much oil does it consume?
Is motul or senfineco oil engine good and compatible with tiguan 2013?
I like the German Liqui Moly, it keeps the engine running well
The book calls for 4.9 a quarts why are you adding more?
I like u and the same time not next time in your videos , don’t say I’m come back and u stop recording what u did when u was doing something , cuz when u come back !! We miss all the best part of the task or troubleshooting, and last one when u are recording point the camera straight to the task that u are teaching , like the clips that going in the rotor brake just in the end of the video !!! The camera was pointing to some angle that I can’t look and learn now I have to search for other videos , but u have very helpful vidieos Volkswagen

I have started using a oil suction pump to remove the oil from the top of the engine. Since the filter is on top as well I never have to put the car on ramps. I tend to change it more then 10 thousand miles.
That's good that you are using oil suction pump for faster draining.
I change mine every 5000

Have you been seen the oil is spending before you get to the next change. My Tiguan doesn’t have leak of oil but When I change the oil then I have to Add oil many times before the next change . I use the same oil Liquid Moly 5W -40 with 147536 miles on my Tiguan
Thanks for the video! I don't know anything about engines but one tip I learned from my grandfather who's a mechanic is that you can pour the oil from the jug sideways and it will flow better out of the bottle and not chug as much.

2019 tiguan requires 0-20 oil rated 508 for VW. Use the oil recommended by vw and listed on the sticker under the hood front of car. Castrol 0-20 synthetic for vw tiguan
This model is from around 2014 it's a really good model, i want to get one also, but diesel
2010 to 2016 is spec 505.00 and 502.00 which is 0w 40 or 5w 40

@@ejsgarage cool. I'm going to try to do the oil change using an oil pump that my friend told me about. Only downside is it leaves like half a cup of oil in the engine. Not too bad.
Making people replace oil plugs with each change is so wasteful. Shameful by VW.
You can also use a new crush washer if you want to keep the old drain plug.
The manual specifies 5W30 or 5W40 full synthetic oil EU spec A3. A5 is often sold at Walmart and is NOT the same. Get the A3 oil (as your link provides). Castrol also sells Castrol 06249 in 5W40 which meets the spec. Nice job on the video and the affiliate links. A+

Even though it's a good thing to add fuel injector cleaner from times to times, I don't think it has anything to do with an oil change. Fuel and oil go through different pipes... Unless I'm missing something?
Exactly oil change is oil change, and fuel injector cleaner is just another maintenance to keep your Tiguan running smoothly.

hi, thanks allot for these videos, i changed my 2014 vw 2.0 tiguan with 5 quarters of new oil 5W-40 Molygen at the repair shop and the engine sounds are higher than before, they said that i don't need to add ceratec fluid. is it ok to add ceratec with liqui moly molygen oil?
My pleasure. Yes, it is ok to add the Ceratec. That's what I do and it helps the turbocharger last longer.

I don't know about VW specific OBDII device. Try Google VW VAG-COM.

It is probably the windshield washer pump, motor or hose need to be replace.

What is this error code 16347 ? Because my car when I am applying brakes EPC and traction light pop up and the car come to limpo I must switch off the can and start again the light disappear and the car move normally

Wow this guy is so old school , if you have money to drive all this german cars then investing in oil machine is better than crawling under the car also 89 octain and 91 octain is not big difference between so once in a while put better gas inside to clean injection but no need for it all the time I have 240000 k and almost never put premium gas

I had an older Audi that would never run well without premium fuel... Stay with premium fuel for the few extra bucks there's no substitute

The check engine light just came on in my VW Tiguan 2011 with an error code of P025C - "Fuel Pump Module Control, Signal Too Low". I'm hoping that replacing the fuel pump module control will take care of the problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I like to put the Ceratec first so it will be mixed with the oil when I pour the oil into the engine.

Do you have a video showing how to clean the intake valves. Since the Tiguan engine is direct-injected, the valves are not clean when fuel is sprayed in the cylinder making them susceptible to carbon build-up.

Our 2018 VW Tiguan SE says Regular Fuel on the gas tank door.
93 octane will keep the engine from having engine knocks and it will help the turbocharger to last longer.

I have tried all over but noone seems to know. There is also an issue about the mening of the reset oil message and the service due message including a spanner, (service including change of pollen filter and lubrication of hinges etc), or is it all included in the oil message? Haven’t got that clear

Just Google it. It's easy, something about holding the trip odometer button.
So it takes 5 quartz or 6 quartz to be exact ? 🤔 for a 2.0 engine 2014 tiguan.
5.4 Quartz but it won't kill your engine if you put 6. It is only half.
At 6:13 video whats the correct size of the star socket ? For the wrench tool ?
T40 or T45 torx bit for the factory drain plug

Try T40 first if it doesn't work try T45. I have the whole set so I didn't really think about it.
