    That's a 2 tone badge.
You took the enamel off making the panel into a silver color when its suppose to be gold.
Next time send it into factory they will refinish it

I would have just cleaned it lightly with a soft foamy handsoap and soft tooth brush, Polishing gold is a bad,Bad,BAD idea, Only one polish I know of doesn't harm gold and it stinks to high heaven (Brasso) So yeah, I tend to avoid polishing gold badges and also I've found that even though it looks good when done, over time the badge will still discolor and tarnish again and you'll have to repolish it, The more you do that key features then become soft, You begin to rub away the State seals, etc. So again I don't polish unless absolutely nessessary and when I do I just do it with a soft cloth by hand.

Thanks for polishing up my badge! It was getting a bit dull 😁. That badge has witnessed a lot of things over the years.

@@MasterSurveillant well nobody is confident in your services as a police officer so nobody really cares what you think.

@@MasterSurveillant and your previous reply to Bruce Lee is highly indicative of a lack of intelligence however a strong indicator of antisocial personality disorder type 2. I'm guessing you can feel rage but not anger right? You feel all the big emotions but none of the small ones. So you can feel lust but not love which is probably why your marriages fall through and why you probably have beaten your spouse's before. Keep in mind police have a 40% spousal abuse rate nationally. You're nobody's friend on UA-cam Bud, you only think so because revisiting Echo Chambers over and over has a skewed your perception.

@@thefranticfap1018 thanks for such a kind comment! You obviously use no critical thought while painting others with a broad biased brush. You must be racist too. Your life must suck! That would make sense based on your troll type comment. Go get a life, you will be the first to succumb in the upcoming civil war...

Buddy. You used way to much compound. Just put a small amount on the polishing pad and you will have much better results. 👍

I've seen a few people on UA-cam using Flitz, but most have recommended putting the compund on the felt and not directly on the metal to be polished. It seems to work really well and is less messy.
Thanks for all the tips :)

I did this method on an aluminum bas relief of jesus that I made and all it did was ruin the piece. It made it darker and took away that shine it originally had. Do not recommend.

Isn't the yellow and black porcupine an anarchist symbol? I wouldn't expect a police officer to understand basic political intentions unless of course they are self-serving.

His dad is a police officer so don't give him too much credit. His genetics are more predisposed to antisocial personality disorder rather being neurotypical so whatever intelligence he does have is probably a lie.
