😮 This is amazing! It just keeps growing and growing! Can you please tell me what variety of lettuce this is? Does the same method work for all varieties? Thank you. 💚 Edit: Also, did you make your own pots?
The variety is called “Salad Bowl”. The same method will work for all leaf lettuce varieties that are suitable for “cut and come again” harvest. No, I didn’t make the pots, although it is possible to make them at home. Thank You very much ☺️
@@nanditarai2061 Every month when the weather is cool. You can grow these in spring, autumn and also in winter, for late winter/early spring harvests. Though, if you live in a "hot summer" area, I don't recommend growing them in the summer, as they will bolt.
Can you show us at what moment during the process of growing you feed them and what kind of food you give them? I also grow lettuce in pots and I harvest them 4 times now!
Hello. I use fish emulsion based fertilizer, but very occasionally. You can feed them after every bigger harvest. It's not necessary though, lettuce will grow very well if You have good quality soil mix 🙂🌱
I don't know any lettue that would be snail-resistant. A good way of reducing their pressence in garden is to use bait, like beer trap for example. It works pretty well. Or build barriers that will prevent them from coming to your plants. Or if you are willing to do that, You can come out at night (when they are active) and pick them up. It will take time for new snails to come.
Do you like your lettuce in grow bags? I've tried to use them for lettuce, but after too many attempts, I gave up. I tried to pack down my moistened mix of equal parts coco coir, perlite, and compost. Then I transplanted my 6 week old lettuce seedlings. Whenever I carried the bags, even gently for short distances, the soil would break apart. My Romaine lettuce would fall into the trenches created by unstable potting mix. I had to throw away my seedlings. A lot of time wasted by a useless container. I'm going to stay with those plastic pots.
Hello, yes I do. Have You tried using just a handful of perlite or none at all? The compost by itself would probably hold together much better. You can add some coco coir if it dries out too quickly, but I wouldn't go with too much either. I grew Romaine lettuce this spring in 15l grow bags and they were great. Also size and shape of grow bags has impact on soil beraking apart, when You move them. The wider they are, the more you "squeeze" them when you move them.
@@Liap Thank you for your suggestions. I have a mixture of perlite, coco coir, and compost. I can't take the perlite out of this mix. Grow bags create unstable soil, no matter how carefully I move them. I gave away all my grow bags. I'm going to use plastic pots only.
@@heyyou4023 I understand, You could try to mix it with compost only until perlite and coco coir become much less significant part of the soil mix. I actually gave away some plastic containers when I started to grow more in grow bags. But with Your soil mix, plastic ones are probably a better choice. Happy gardening 🍀🙂

Hi there, can I plant these lettuce and cherry radish in winter?
Hello there, that very much depends on where You live. If You live in climate where winter weather allows growing some plants outside, then yes.
Great video! I may have not seen it in the messages already but where did you buy your grown bags?
They are from a seller from Czech Republic, though they've been out of stock for a while. But they are manufactured in China.
Thank You very much! 🙂
Hi. Where do you get your wood shavings?
Hello, I get them from local carpenter.
Slugs and snails keep eating my lettuce. Can you please make how to grow pest resistant lettuce?

How about planting 2 to 4 lettuces in one container by placing them far apart from one another? Is that possible?
Absolutely! I grew another leaf lettuce variety in vegetable boxes. Four plants per box. There is a video of them if You are interested 🙂🍀
@@Liap Thank you so much for this prompt response... Will definitely check this out. I live in India, so waiting for winter season to grow all this.
