A properly multicrewed Hip would be devastating.

Oh yeah for sure man especially having a human on the gun who can say come right a bit or other feedback like that when they hit a pivot stop. The ai doesn't say jack.

Started the Hip campaign today to practice a few landings! The thing really does fly a treat and even the landing went fine for about 5 times throughout the first campaign mission. I am a bit slow still, but it was good enough to take it to Enigma tonight.. where of course I crashed after a few minutes, and I am not sure why! I think I was messing with the trim a bit too much and overstressed it making a weird recovery maneuver.

      @ryu1940  7 місяців тому +1

Ah nice it’s good your landings are getting better that is awesome. Hmm with the trim I will set it for cruise but I will always have the trim reset for take off and landings. That’s just how I do it I think some others constantly trim but I just think you’re more maneuverable on the controls if you reset it as you are approaching the landing phase.

I say this every time, but I do truly love your videos, especially the ones on ecw

Awesome I'm really lucky to be able to share the stuff I make with people who like seeing similar stuff. I didn't think there would be many fans of the Hip out there when I started making videos with it and really falling in love with flying the thing. It is such a fun aircraft to fly especially on ECW!

Nice Video, how did you get a multi-track to work?!? I don't have much luck these days. Pretty cool seeing a door gunner taking care of Gaz for you, I carry gunpods for that (don't trust door gunner (although I do equip him)). Thanks for video!

Thanks! This was just a live recording I did with nvidia shadowplay so I recorded it as it happened. I also don’t have any luck with the MP tracks sadly.

I've been flying the HIP for about a year now. I love it. I mostly fly it on Rotorheads but I would love to get into Enigma but I'm lost at what to do on that server. How do you know where to drop troops off or where the friendly/enemy areas are located? Maybe we could do a hop together sometime. Also, thanks for sharing. Definitely love your videos.

Thanks for watching I am glad you enjoy them. I can fly tonight. I live in the PST timezone and usually hop on around 1900 PST. This weekend I'm out but I fly throughout the week around primetime and also the following weekend I could fly as well.
The friendly and enemy sectors are all marked on the f10 map. The red hexagons are red sectors so you can spawn at any of those sectors. To avoid spawning at a rear sector you can filter the spawn list for Hips and Hinds then scroll down the list of spawns available until you see other pilot names in Hips and Hinds . You can then understand what FARP they are at and spawn in at the same one by selecting the next available open Hip or Hind.
Another method (and the one I prefer to use) is go onto this website which has a map of the whole frontline. The link is:
      hex.moelan.net/?m=default
The great thing about that map is it also tells you how much time is remaining so you don't even need to load up DCS to check. If you know the server is going to restart in 20 minutes there is little sense in trying to start a helicopter sortie. It'll likely be over by the time you just start working the frontline. So once you get that page loaded you can see the sectors red and blue. Simply click on a red sector along the front line where you want to operate out of and it'll display the sector name (example: Sector 7-13).
Either write down that sector number or commit it to memory. Load up DCS and log into ECW. Filter the roles by Hip and scroll down til you see FARP 7-13 and select any of those spawns. Now you'll load into a frontline FARP.
From there you'll open up the F10 map and if someone has already done recon you'll see orange circles along the blue sector adjacent to your red sector. You can click on these circles and it will tell you what the enemy unit is. If you load up standard troops you can simply drop them within 4km in enemy territory and after 3 minutes they will kill those units.
If no recon is done, the troop drops work the same way, just fly along the border on the enemy side and look out for the white barracks buildings and clusters of vehicles around them. If you drop standard troops within 4km of them, they will be destroyed after 3 minutes.
To help this process you could drop recon soldiers if you load them up with you at the FARP and drop them off anywhere within the blue territory. After 5 minutes they will reveal any enemy unit with 12.5km (you'll now see those orange circles) and they will reveal infrastructure targets within 25km (these are targets for your special operations forces troops that you can also load into the helicopter).
That's a lot of stuff to digest but I've got a troop drop tutorial video showing a lot of that stuff. I hope that helps!

Are using some kind of tracking for DCS? Like IR tracker or anything

    • @ryu1940
