Santa Pola highlights cycle loop from Gran Alacant

Between Alicante and Santa Pola, there's a sloping headland that ends with a long line of cliffs, with the urbanisations of Gran Alacant perched on top. Once you get past the more built-up areas on the cliffs, it turns into this awesome mountain biking zone with over 50 kilometers of fantastic tracks. Our day kicked off cruising down the main road, then we hit the natural headland area, biking for about 30 minutes until we hit the road above Santa Pola. After a nice coffee break, we checked out the marina scene and then cruised back along the cliffs, following the coastal beach road around and below Gran Alacant. Finally, we tackled a long climb back up to the headland from the Commercial Centre, riding those awesome tracks and making it to the top in just over two hours. The weather was epic the whole time!
