I worked with my family for 12 years doing pipe and paving work. Sometimes I think working with them was harder than the actual work itself! Dad would say something like "dump that stone next to that tree in the woods". But of course that was the wrong tree, he meant the other tree. We had some fun and I learned a lot. This just reminds me of that. Explaining that to others that have never done it is difficult. Great video!
My grandfather had a lumber company in Milford nh, lorden lumber, it closed in the 80's before I was born, your videos make me wish it was still around so I could be a part of a cool operation
Sorry for that... I appreciate your help and support you have in taking your time out to show how many skills an trades logging have for our future followers meeting the same needs day in day out.. thanks again
Yeah, I've seen some of those trucks like that out here in Arizona and wondered why they were like that ! Didn't make much sense to me! Better git after them deer, wake up one morning and season will be over ! 😂 Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
I think everyone should go to the amazon link and loon at the gear and cost of what it takes to put theses videos out!!! Thanks Tim for the videos, I know it’s your passion to to do them but people should appreciate the cost it takes also!!!
Good video Tim, thanks. My dad use to tell some stories about the home built log skidder they used (this was way back before companies started building them). He said they could drive it anywhere, go over and through anything, and pull some of the biggest bundles of logs with that thing. He said that when you had someone operating it that was experienced, they could do some of the most unimaginable feats with it, and yes, it was their handy dandy tow truck for doing what you just did Tim.
Out west they call it the Cali lift. It's a prerunner half ass lift. I bought a 97 Chevrolet k1500 and the dude who owned it before me bought the CST lift for the front but not the back so when I bought it I built a custom 4 link setup for it with long travel and airbags in the rear to tow my smaller trailers and not have to use my Dodge 2500 diesel
Tim, don't beat yourself up. Your Dad was in a tight spot but you handled it. It wasn't pretty but you got it done. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your life with us. 👍
We joke that Daddy only gave them enough for half a lift kit. Usually the back window of the truck is covered with Salt Life stickers despite being hours from the ocean and the owner owns a couple thousand dollars of camo clothes and the only thing they've ever hunted was a cheeseburger at McDonalds.
I wont lower my rear-end..Tim don't hit my red truck sitting there, I'm a ah checking trail-cam's here yea that's it.. Silly mud, just like ice sometimes Hope you had a good day hunting Tim..Take care..
When I was a tank crewmen in the Corps years ago and we helped pull another tank out of a stuck spot, they owed us a case of beer and a bottle of booze of our choice. Just a thought, great video
Awesome video Tim. I’m really late watching this one. The lowering of the trucks looks like they are trying to turn them into the old gassers from the 50s. Later
Not one cuss word!! Your a polite Southern gentle men! The air would have been blue! Worked with my dad for years .loved him dearly but working with him sure had his challenges
Like the seats that are angled but it should be able to go streight when u want it i know a guy who had a cat dozer and had the seat angled and it sucked operating it all the time like that
I always thought they jacked the torsion bars up on the trucks to make the front set up. I have heard of some only installing the front half of lift kits... I don't get it either!!! Better have some good sunglasses in those trucks because sky is all you can see.
I think the "lowered 4x4 rear end" is just crappy quality lift kits. The minute you put a decent load in the bed, or bumper pull a heavy trailer, your springs sag, and you are stuck with that look.
Your comment on the lifted truck reminded me of a bumper sticker i seen on a truck last night. "Lift It! Cause fat chicks can't jump" I laughed for a few minutes on that one. I have no clue why you would want the back lower than the front. Looks Stupid!
Brandon I have never heard of that before. I would have just figured they had some steel plate or something in the back. now I have seen a few trucks up here like that and thought it was a load but I guess not haha
Brandon all it is is just a butch of young dummies spending there parents money so they can play around in a club they made up to see who can squat there truck the lowest i live in nc and thats all you see around here and they go throught 3 oil pumps a year
I think it is just part of the general "dumbing down"" of America that's going on. I blame it on the mainstream media, late night comedians and the witches of The View.
As for the truck, it looks like that crazyiness that young folks do with their pants. Hanging them down at the knees showing off their underwear as the walk. Guess it's the trucks turn. Drive around with it's butt lowered. Just a guess.
How heavy is that skidder? It didn’t look like it even slipped a tire giving that loaded truck a little help getting out of that muddy situation. Thank you for the excellent videos.
That truck is not lowered in the rear. The torsion bars are turned up in the front. It's to give a truck rake. Pretty common. Trucks sitting level or pitched up some in the front looks good. Bloodhound looks like crap. Now those that look like a dog taking a dump is ridiculous.
I don't get it as far as doing that to a 4wd truck. I have no idea how it looks "cool". To me it looks like the leaf springs and shocks are busted. To me me it looks like he is rolling around in a ragged broke truck. If this a trend then ...You can't fix stupid. Just my opinion.
I hate a gopro had 1 it work about 6 months and quit. Santa Claus i hope is bring me a new different camera. Good video. I hate them lowering the rear of thrm trucks down right ugly
Most 4x4's are pavement queens. Every 4x4 ive had has been muddy the whole time i owned it. '83 dodge ram, '86 samuri, '75 Cj5 w/ built sbc - my fav next to my dirt bike! Keep on cutting!
It must be a southern thing because in the north we like our trucks high. If you squat your truck here in the north it’ll look like a dog draggin it’s ass through the snow. Also good on you for not cussing, I may have cussed a couple times trying to get that truck on the highway.
People who lower their trucks just trying make a low rider cotontop3 but as soon as I get myself a ford seven three powerstroke it’ll be way different then that stock everything except exhaust and radio
That was intense, great video and I have no idea why people would lower there 4WD truck in the rear (looks kind of dumb, maybe I should lift the front of my Vette 6in,,Not!,lol) as always thumbs up.
I don't get it either. I hate it when my F350 squats like a girl peeing whenever I put a medium size load in the bed or on the hitch. Go figure whet these young kids are thinking.
supposedly squatting your truck looks cool nowadays. Guess they try to make their trucks look like they're working but in reality they aint doin nothin
I think what happens with some of these squatted trucks is this. Folks get a leveling kit that raises the front, as most of these trucks are already higher in the rear than the front from factory, that away when there is a "load" it levels the truck out in stock form. This is for load stability, truck handling, etc. So what happens is after the truck has been "leveled" then the owner puts some weight in the rear of the truck then the rear squats to normal ride height and it makes it look like sagging ass. Some folks hauling the heavier loads are even using airbags now to keep the truck level and i think some of the newer trucks even have it as a optional feature. My unmodified 2006 3500 SRW 5.9 Ram is like this, once i put a load (like an atv) or something with a little weight the truck sets more level and even rides better, these trucks are designed to haul around weight so there is a reason for this higher lifted offset from the factory. However after doing a little looking it also appears that the "Carolina squat" is really a thing for some reason.
I agree with coton top. The youngster doesn’t need any distractions while running the skidder. From the views that we get to see though it looks like he does a very good job with it and is careful as well.
Kids here call that truck setup the Cali Lean or Carolina Squat. It just looks gay. I am old school enough to dislike any wheel size bigger than 17 inch unless it’s on a road tractor. Nothing looks worst than a truck with 22 inch wheels and tires with no sidewall.
Here in SC all the kids call it the Carolina squat when the truck is lower in the back. Kids that is and kids can have stupid taste! Never understood it.
And it’s good to see young Philip running those machines 👍👍
I worked with my family for 12 years doing pipe and paving work. Sometimes I think working with them was harder than the actual work itself! Great video. Like I said good job getting your Dad out of trouble.Part of being a great logging crew. And yes it was a beautiful day !
Im glad to see you get frustrated with stuff as well! everyday aint always peachy!
It was more like a very rotten peach! 😂😂

My grandfather had a lumber company in Milford nh, lorden lumber, it closed in the 80's before I was born, your videos make me wish it was still around so I could be a part of a cool operation
Dennis Lorden im from the greenville area I remember driving by when I was a kid its a shame
I agree, it looks like they already have a load on, when they do put a load on what's it doing to the suspension? Great videos
Sorry for that... I appreciate your help and support you have in taking your time out to show how many skills an trades logging have for our future followers meeting the same needs day in day out.. thanks again

Better git after them deer, wake up one morning and season will be over ! 😂
Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
I used to like the bullydog style, but now I ask the same question. WTF IS THAT!!!...LOL
I think everyone should go to the amazon link and loon at the gear and cost of what it takes to put theses videos out!!! Thanks Tim for the videos, I know it’s your passion to to do them but people should appreciate the cost it takes also!!!

We have had those calls before. I'm stuck and about 2 Miles away! you go to help and they aee 10 miles away haha.
I don't like the trucks low in the back either Tim.
4x4 are supposed to be level front to back or mine is anyways. Good video a little bit different . Not to many videos of the new skidder
Good days and bad days! Gotta have both I guess so we know when to smile and when to frown. Thanked for sharing it.
I wont lower my rear-end..Tim don't hit my red truck sitting there,
I'm a ah checking trail-cam's here yea that's it.. Silly mud, just like ice sometimes
Hope you had a good day hunting Tim..Take care..
You ain’t right 😂😂😂
lol..
When I was a tank crewmen in the Corps years ago and we helped pull another tank out of a stuck spot, they owed us a case of beer and a bottle of booze of our choice. Just a thought, great video
I'm looking for a dodge Cummings truck,i know when you first got yours, you didn't like it,what are you opinion now??
I like it a lot
Awesome video Tim. I’m really late watching this one. The lowering of the trucks looks like they are trying to turn them into the old gassers from the 50s. Later
Not one cuss word!! Your a polite Southern gentle men! The air would have been blue! Worked with my dad for years .loved him dearly but working with him sure had his challenges
I didn't notice the CB cord till you mentioned it! good rescue there.
It's called the squat gang where I come from. You just weld the axle of your truck right to the frame. It's just for looks that's it
Never got to run one with swivel seat and joy stick!!!
Good video tim
Like the seats that are angled but it should be able to go streight when u want it i know a guy who had a cat dozer and had the seat angled and it sucked operating it all the time like that
Really enjoyed this video. It showed how challenging your profession can be.
It's called the Carolina squat. Theres alot of stereotypes associated with this epidemic. Based in NC/SC we log central nc...their everywhere
you must be in North Carolina with the lowered 4 wheel drives lol
That's the most exciting vid I have watched of you
Good morning bud.great video.thanks Tim.love ya ,ll.have an amazing day.be safe out there
TIm you are so cool.... you make it look easy!!!
I always thought they jacked the torsion bars up on the trucks to make the front set up. I have heard of some only installing the front half of lift kits... I don't get it either!!! Better have some good sunglasses in those trucks because sky is all you can see.
And if u meet them at night they blind u because their lights and pointed up.
cotontop3 gives me road rage to no end!
Working with daddy lol love it

problem is the short fat chicks driving them have a hard time getting in :))
Carolina Squat Usually found in NC/SC and across the south
Brandon I have never heard of that before. I would have just figured they had some steel plate or something in the back. now I have seen a few trucks up here like that and thought it was a load but I guess not haha
Brandon all it is is just a butch of young dummies spending there parents money so they can play around in a club they made up to see who can squat there truck the lowest i live in nc and thats all you see around here and they go throught 3 oil pumps a year
Thanks u for that on 4x4 I like no that to I see that all time
Don't fill bad they do the same thing with there trucks in sc from Robert Carawan from little River sc i like your videos
I was told it’s called the Carolina Squat. They think it looks cool. I think it’s stupid. I don’t understand it either.
I think it is just part of the general "dumbing down"" of America that's going on. I blame it on the mainstream media, late night comedians and the witches of The View.
HUSTLE&FLOWTRUCKING your right I think it’s stupid
@@chorton38305 The View = pure poison
As for the truck, it looks like that crazyiness that young folks do with their pants. Hanging them down at the knees showing off their underwear as the walk. Guess it's the trucks turn. Drive around with it's butt lowered. Just a guess.
That was a Chevy and probably had a 5 gal bucket of oil in the bed making it squat like that lol
😂😂😂
No doubt..lol
So cool you guys are teaching that young man to log. Next generation your retirement
Trucks like that remind me of dogs taking a crap
LOL. You and me both. I've been wondering too what's the deal with lowering the trucks in the back. It looks like they are taking a dump to be honest.
Its their imagery boat they are pulling
How heavy is that skidder? It didn’t look like it even slipped a tire giving that loaded truck a little help getting out of that muddy situation. Thank you for the excellent videos.
It’s them ghost trailers hooked to them trucks man!!
how old is philip running the skidder

Our deer season ended Jan 14 here in Ga.. I think 5 counties got extended till the 31 but not my county .. Great video

Dads, making everything difficult since you were born
Truth!! Lol
I agree... "squatting trucks" is a thing?! OK, to each his own...
Great video tim good luck hunting
That truck is not lowered in the rear. The torsion bars are turned up in the front. It's to give a truck rake. Pretty common. Trucks sitting level or pitched up some in the front looks good. Bloodhound looks like crap. Now those that look like a dog taking a dump is ridiculous.
I bought a GoPro thinking it could do it all. They are very limited . They do not zoom.
Bout to watch it,you know who is blocking stuff.
Who?
Great video Tim. Guess that's the only thing about having different brands of equipment different controls.
They call it squatting their trucks. It’s just for looks.
It's called STUPID!
An you can't fix stupid.
Looks like you broke the suspension.
Their squatting their trucks because they also squat to pee.
Speaking of bodily functions, my cat does that when it's got a dingle berry...😂
Squatting WTF
I was told it's so you can come off a hill or something and it won't hit the front that way. Whatever it doesn't make sense.
The truck that is lowered in the rear end is called a Carolina squat. It looks more like a dog taking a shit.
Well, could be a heavy load of moonshine...
A lot of people from the north put weight in the back for traction.
I hate a gopro had 1 it work about 6 months and quit. Santa Claus i hope is bring me a new different camera. Good video. I hate them lowering the rear of thrm trucks down right ugly
Its just a faze dad lol. I've never that done or purpose before, crazy kids. Ps E series should top out at 14mph with no drag behind them.
Most 4x4's are pavement queens. Every 4x4 ive had has been muddy the whole time i owned it. '83 dodge ram, '86 samuri, '75 Cj5 w/ built sbc - my fav next to my dirt bike! Keep on cutting!
he shouted so loud that i had to comment .. no clue what to say but there
That's so you can look down your nose easier at the folks that aint draggin their back bumper!
😂😂
Bro dozers are what I call em lol
We do it for truck shows
It must be a southern thing because in the north we like our trucks high. If you squat your truck here in the north it’ll look like a dog draggin it’s ass through the snow. Also good on you for not cussing, I may have cussed a couple times trying to get that truck on the highway.
It looked like me that he was overloaded
Nice!!!
You have hard time whet The Tigercat
Great video.
Do go pros not sound an alert when they have an issue, like an SD card fault? Seems like a pretty basic user feedback solution to me.
I wish they did but they don’t.
I know how you feel my sons friends truck is like that I told him to me looks stupid but too each is on
People who lower their trucks just trying make a low rider cotontop3 but as soon as I get myself a ford seven three powerstroke it’ll be way different then that stock everything except exhaust and radio
Tim please do a story time of that, of Derrick running the jeep over lol, man I bet that was a ride 🤣🇺🇲🌲, please tell it in a video
That was intense, great video and I have no idea why people would lower there 4WD truck in the rear (looks kind of dumb, maybe I should lift the front of my Vette 6in,,Not!,lol) as always thumbs up.
Maybe they lower the back end of there truck's the way they wear there paints lol.
Awesome you made sure Phillip wore his PPE before exiting the machine.
I just like my truck level that’s all

you did a great job
Who is Phillip’s dad
Kevin is his dad.
You should put the camera in with your son I think that what he is but that would be cool
He isn’t my son and I don’t want to do that. It’s not time.
I agree with coton top. The youngster doesn’t need any distractions while running the skidder. From the views that we get to see though it looks like he does a very good job with it and is careful as well.
That truck with lowered suspension is not for me! I want mine the opposite. Jacked up on the rear!
I’m glad you got him out easy with no damage.
I'm believe he had loading in the back of the the bed of truck
Kids here call that truck setup the Cali Lean or Carolina Squat. It just looks gay. I am old school enough to dislike any wheel size bigger than 17 inch unless it’s on a road tractor. Nothing looks worst than a truck with 22 inch wheels and tires with no sidewall.
Great view out of that machine. I heard Logger Wade complain about top speed with Tigercat one time.
Here in SC all the kids call it the Carolina squat when the truck is lower in the back. Kids that is and kids can have stupid taste! Never understood it.
My 22 yr old son has tried several times to talk me into lowering the back of my 4x4 dually. I don't think so jack. Aint gonna happen
