A lot of tutorial videos show, and don't tell. As in they show a chord or picking pattern and just expect you to see or know what's going on under their fingers. I really appreciate the slow speed and attention to detail you give to these lessons
Nothing pleases me more than a notification that Allison Bennett has uploaded a new video. I always know to expect a fantastic lesson from a fantastic teacher. Greatings from Manchester UK. Fellow Smiths enthusiast.
i really doubt that craig
@@blazernotes what do you doubt?
Love your style of play, fashion, professionalism, attention to detail, and manicure(s). Thank you for such awesome instruction.
"And when the planet hit the sun I saw the face of Allison. Allison!....Pixies. " tY, never saw such a Beautiful Lesson!
I have been following your videos for some years. It still amazes me how the pictures on the back are constantly changing according to the artists you are covering. Gives it a magic, somewhat spooky touch :)
Hey Allison, Thank YOU for saving me from the other tutorials available on UA-cam, they are NOT beginner friendly. One of my all time fave songs.
Thanks so much for the video! It helped a lot. I especially like how you showcase both a beginners' and advanced approach to the chord voicings, as while I'm no stranger to playing music on other instruments, I'm still a novice at the guitar. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the tutorial - one of my fav songs of all time....
Love your channel and your playing. You are so clear and clean.
Great job Allison!..Another great song selection and awesome job teaching it..
Alisson strikes again!! Thank you so much!!!
Très COOL! Merci d’avoir partagé cette leçon!
One of my favourite songs! And you even play it on a Tele!
Amazing song by an amazing band taught by an amazing woman
Can’t believe I only just stumbled across this, wish I’d come here sooner, think the way you teach is brilliant and love the channel, will be coming back again definitely to learn more. Thank you :)
Lovely. Looking forward to really practicing soon
You have great taste in music. Thankyou for all the lessons 😊
Nice - classic track!
Just got back into playing (although I use that term loosely) and have been looking at several youtube tutorials - yours is the best so far. Thank you! :)
this is by far the best lesson on this song :)
Black Francis! Thank you again Allison. Still have to work on the solo, but you are a great teacher. Fun!
You rock, thanks ma'am well explained
Total class. ...Much Respect
Great Lesson for a great song 😁
Thanks Allison :-)
Heard the riff today on the radio.
Fifteen minutes tonight , involving some great and easy to understand tuition.
I’ve got it.
Many thanks
Killer lesson. You have excellent taste in bands too
Brilliant and well structured tutorial. I can't quite replicate the background...I've got a Carrier furnace...
My friends and I always thought it was funny that the first little arpeggio/solo was basically "Vacation" by the GoGos :)
Great lesson, TYVM!
Just come across this gem 💎 👍
toujours aussi bien !toujours aussi belle !Love you
Epic! Thank you
thank you so much Allison¡¡¡¡¡
I've been playing this song since about a year or two after it came out. I was surprised you played a low A during the riff. I've always played the high A on the 2nd fret. I will have to listen to the recording again. Regardless, thanks for the videos. I've learned a lot of Johnny Marr parts from you.
Your videos are so good i wish you would make some more!
Hey Allison! Great job! Debased loves your video!
You are hitting all the “college rock” highlight from my youth! This song is from 1989. How about the Church, or Replacements, or XTC (great new documentary - you should check it out)? Thanks Allison, for moving me back to my guitar roots!
gorgeous
As expected, great lesson! R.E.M. next please.
so simple and so COOL!
I like your selections of songs for your instructional videos. Very well presented. I'm pretty rusty, but I do keep up my note reading skills (mostly Mozart). I wish there were more alternative rock scores instead of everything being in tablature. You're lucky you have a efficient furnace! Mine is old 60% efficient. Cheers from michigan!
"If you don't wanna do the bar chords you can always do the open chords."
How happy does that simple statement make me?
(rhetorical question but purty dang happy) (YAY!)
I will of course be aiming for hybrid.
😆
kick ass thank you keep them comming
Love that silverface Princeton reverb! I have the exact one. If you have time you should do gear videos for some of us gear-nerds out here!
Thanks for this and nice dress :)
Hey, Alli! Not sure if you'd already considered this, but when you add to the chord the F on the 6th fret 2nd str. while muting the hi and lo Es (1st and 6th strings), it brings the chord way closer to the original dissonant feel of it.
Thank you so much for this cover!!! If I wanted to play this in the original tuning what should I tune each string to?? Ps: I love watching your videos! Thank you, God bless!! ♥️♥️
Linda!!!
Another great video and lesson Thanks for taking the time and for such a well polished production. How about the solo from Paint a Vulgar Picture? All the best from the UK.
You are very likeable...and pleasant to learn from.
Please do more pixies!
Well done! How long does it take you to complete these videos?
I listened a lot to doolittle recently, what a coincidence! :D
TASTEINMUSIC same with me
Thanks to you darling I learned the main riff.
Interesting to see the different ways this riff is played by different tutorials. Yours is the same as I worked out with a student so I'm sticking with it. That first chord throws me though. D7#9 according to most but doesn't sound quite right to me. It has a "Hard Day's Night" ambiguity to it. Thanks for sharing :)
The first chord on
Here Comes Your Man
is the Jimi Hendrix chord
D7#9.
Hey Allison. I really like your teaching style. I know my request is hard because there's multiple instruments, but could you do a teachable version of Talking Heads' This Must Be The Place?
Yeah. I gotta see that.
Isn't there a pixies song called Allison?
I want to learn Alec Eiffel. It’s my fav pixies song
Can you make a guitar lesson of The Smith's song "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now"? If you do, thanks!
U rock
What about the third prechorus following solo2? It’s a little different. I know the bass plays a C note where there would normally be a Gmaj, but I don’t know if the guitar is any different.
Eres perfecta. Te amo.
Top Tip: If the recording is slightly sharp/flat, load it into Audacity ( free s/w ) you can change the pitch to match your guitar.
Or just change your tuner's frequency to A = 446hz. Super easy
Can you tell me how u could demonstrate how to play Johnny was the stiff little fingers version?
You are great!! Where is your accent from?
New Order - Love Vigilantes. The tabs I've found don't help me and there are only tutorials for the Iron & Wine version online.
Great job as usual Allison.
PS - desistem brazucas, ela já é casada, não estão vendo o anel?
The Hendrix chord at the beginning, no? D7#9 or whatever it is
I thought today that I would like to learn this tune. i saw you video on the smiths how soon is now and it led me to this, how does this happen? thanks
Please check out all of my lessons
thanks jennifer lawrence
jesus i took me a while to understand the main riff, you said open two open but i thought you meant open TO open i was like hwat!
I think the first chord is D7#9 (popularly known as the Jimi Hendrix chord)
Yep, definitely D7#9
ye
Fuller Chords 7:27
Heyyy Allison, you are amazing teaching play guitar, Maybe the guitar tabs could it be necessary for me, and you are so beautiful 😍you got my attention
Where did all these Brazilians come from?
Cappy Goodtime from Brasil... Kkkkk
I want to be YOUR MAN
So your the girl on the video?
You and Jennifer Lawrence are twin sisters
Apparently a song about a tramp waiting for his booze buddy to turn up when an earthquake happens and he gets hit by masonry. I always thought it sounded more romantic than that…
Allison I Love you ❤
I live im Brasil nas admite your work.
If one da you come to Brasil, I want to meet you and get an autograf nas then ask you to marry me 😍
Ugh this doesnt sound like the song but I cant find another one as easy to play
