"I used to be a fan of Honest Guide, until Janek exposed my MO" Just like how Logal Paul used to be a fan of Coffeezilla, until Coffeezilla exposed his scams
afaik you can pay google for a spot on these "recommended" sections, same with their adds... and they do no checks whatsoever! You can freely advertise scams on youtube and have google search promote scam websites. one of the many reasons I stopped using google.
And that's one of the reasons why the "Don't buy from Am*zon" call doesn't work so well. Even though they do a lot of bad things, it just works. I find myself going back to the big platforms more often nowadays...
At the moment I'm writing this I'm in a dispute with a 'dropshipper' that won't return my money, even after involving a bailiff and will probably have to involve civil court to actually retrieve my money. Too many of these 'people' to go around,.
Honza is at the same time, a journalist, a policeman, a judge pretty much the president of Czechia but with all powers: executive, legislative, judicial hahahaha I love it waiting for part 2 honza is the hero we need
Before shopping anywhere - always check the Impressum / About Us section. Only buy if you see the correct legal information - a company address and tax registry number. If you only see random, irrelevant gibberish and only some suspicious telephone number or e-mail (in many cases not even that) - you know it's a scam.
Best to check some reviews, this will quickly get an idea if something is going on. Alternatively, if you find an address, use Google Street view to check if there is indeed a physical office or warehouse there, or that is a fake address. And yes, I've fallen for dropshippers too. So far they delivered, but sometimes after 2-3 months. 6 months is clearly fake. If you don't want to go to the process of making a legal complaint, do make sure to dispute the payment with your bank provider. If you used a credit card, you have a good chance to get a refund. For a bank less likely. If you paid by some online bank, like Paypal, never mind. You lost your money in that case.
OMG, you killed that guy! That hang up is like what you see in a movie when the detective proves his suspicions to the suspect. He couldn't say another word or lie his way out, it was over.
It is simply crazy that the government fails to protect its citizens from such criminals. I hope he gets a retroactive sentence so that he never leaves prison again.
Report all domains to domain registrar, thats all u can do, or even find hosting and report to it. Report it to authorities for anticonsumer and watch it burn, being blocked by isps on dns level
The thing is that if this happens which takes a while to go through, these guys will just open up a new domain and it's a cat and mouse game. Needs to be rooted out in a more comprehensive way if anything.
'Van Kerkhove' is a last name quite common in Belgium(possibly Netherlands too), but that it is written 'Kherkhove' is certainly not our way of writing it, so I wonder how that name got in the records.
I could almost hear the guy's brain grinding gears while he tried to quickly fabricate reasons to absolve himself from any wrongdoing and distance himself from this business.
I ordered an aquarium light power supply to replace a faulty one through Ebay. It didn't arrive by the stated date so I contacted the seller. The reply was that they had been sick so they would send two instead as a good will gesture. In the post tomorrow, delivery in a few days. After a few days I contacted Ebay, showed them the correspondence and got a refund. These people try to drag things out until the time limit for making a complaint has passed then say you were too late complaining. Keep your eye on that date if something does not turn up when expected.
In the EU, the 14-day clock starts ticking from the day you receive your order, not from when you place it online. Sellers on Ebay are required to follow EU consumer protection laws if they make products available to EU consumers and ship to buyers residing in the EU. Any seller or website can of course still be a pain to deal with, like in your case.
in india Airtel telecom does this. they sell 1 month plan but in their Terms and Condition they claims we identify 1 month as 28 days . we are entering the era where we can't even claim 1 month should be at least 30 days.
...They define their month by the shortest month rather than the eleven others? That doesn't even make sense (outside of money); what a terrible company.
Vodafone in Italy tried to do and did it for a while to have a month of 28 days, but consumers associations managed to revert to 30 days, through judiciary action
Plot twist: TheY now claim to be getting the all important fabric for the back pack from Brazil, The cotton to stitch it -from New Zealand, The zippers -from the UK, The brand label -from Nigeria, And the inner canvas - from Canada. Apperantly, the first 2 have arrived and waiting for the rest. please be patient while we await the raw materials after which production should begin.
Once your bag has been built after 13 months, we should like to inform you that because of our Quality standards, the Quality Control section would run it through their systems. This could take anything from a month to three months. Allow for this for a quality product!
if my sis did that i would just laugh at her and tell her how stupid she is scam site's exist since almost for ever and Ordering Merchandise from anything is just dumb as well as people that are fans of what ever are something else
1:35 Janek, you should check PPPeter from Slovakia, his series from China. He showed these "shopping galleries" in China. You simply order big amount of any product and they will create it in China and deliver to your destination in next months. So you can buy stuff worth 2€ of production and sell it for 20€ for example, but u must meet certain conditions such as minimum amount of products per order. Yes, these products are from China and that's how it works. It seems, this backpack wasn't in storage and they had to make a new order and yes, it can take up to a year to get your goods. Imagine how much of those "souvenirs" in Prague you see on every corner are from China worth 0.50€ of production, that are sold to tourists for a few €. This is business :D @edit: It's not dropshipping, it's similar, but it's something else.
Well even if you are based out of the Czech republic, your videos made ma aware of the ATM and exchangeoffices in denmark that runs more or less the exact same scheme. So Thank you
Hey, why don't you make a gallery and just put a name and an adresse in Plzen on it... no doxing, no thread, no data security violation - just a name gallery
each image a single word or number, with no connection to reality or random connections... Something like: [Butter] [Jan] [Weather] [Rubeš] [Prague] [dark-blue]
This kinda reminds me of my buddy's brother who sold an "Xbox box", description even said it was "just the box".. 😅 Not only did he get away with it/ made like $500.. he was listed on Ebay as one of the "top sellers" for awhile. Last I heard, he was making a ton of money off of phishing scams on FB ads.. pics of him living in luxury. 😩
To be fair, today with so many unknown names, you should check reviews before even shopping there. At least I do it, and I've avoided a couple of such situations.
This is not a comment, it is just text you are viewing on a screen. By reading this text you agree to abide by my terms and conditions, as such you now owe me 1 like.
Hahahaha I remembered I have ordered a gift for my nephew and utterly triggered by the end of the video I went on to check out what's going on with my order.
I just arrived from Prague today, hehe... I stayed by Muzeum and I think there's one of his stores a little up in the corner with Zitna street... if I'm guessing the store correctly.
I know you understand that from 2.30 to 2.36 is the literal definition of most shops/retail businesses, even physical right? 🤣 You buy from a supplier for cheaper then you sell, and most suppliers in most industries are in Asia 🤣 So that as a pretty empty statement. And i'm not even a capitalist, it's just what it is and that in itself is not a scam.
Not gonna mention also running multiple scam businesses and using fake names for the owner of the companies as well as addresses? Seems like the core of the issue here 😂
Reminds me a friend ordered 10 flip-flops from a Chinese shop once and after a month he got a call from the tax authorities to come and collect his container from the shipyard apparently he paid for 10000 flip-flops
The owner being a fan of Honest Guide, is a twist I wouldn’t have seen coming
Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
Was a fan… ;)
@bioniclcboy9 It's like the criminals that listen to the police scanners to avoid trouble. He just wants to see what Yanek is up to.
Not fans. Common practice for scammers to follow people exposing scams so they know how to cover their own tracks
"I used to be a fan of Honest Guide, until Janek exposed my MO"
Just like how Logal Paul used to be a fan of Coffeezilla, until Coffeezilla exposed his scams
Google's recommended stores are littered with these scams, they seriously need to take care of these.
afaik you can pay google for a spot on these "recommended" sections, same with their adds... and they do no checks whatsoever! You can freely advertise scams on youtube and have google search promote scam websites. one of the many reasons I stopped using google.
Facebook as well
And that's one of the reasons why the "Don't buy from Am*zon" call doesn't work so well. Even though they do a lot of bad things, it just works. I find myself going back to the big platforms more often nowadays...
but its how they make money :)
At the moment I'm writing this I'm in a dispute with a 'dropshipper' that won't return my money, even after involving a bailiff and will probably have to involve civil court to actually retrieve my money. Too many of these 'people' to go around,.
Amazing that you were able to get the footage of the guy on the other end of the phone call
Ikr ! Crazy😊
Honza is at the same time, a journalist, a policeman, a judge
pretty much the president of Czechia but with all powers: executive, legislative, judicial
hahahaha I love it
waiting for part 2
honza is the hero we need
You mean Jãnek 😅
The doggy hanging up the phone and walking off was superb 😂
"It's not a blackmailing it's a negotiation" so true

This comment needs to be higher.
This. Or just shop in trusted shops that are well known. Not a bad idea to check that the VAT number is actually legit if you suspect anything.
Best to check some reviews, this will quickly get an idea if something is going on. Whahaha MAN!! You are a genius!! 💯💯 Somebody in CZ is sweating now.... Looking forward to the follow up.
It is simply crazy that the government fails to protect its citizens from such criminals. I hope he gets a retroactive sentence so that he never leaves prison again.

Report the domains, lying about domain ownership will get the domains be shut down
08:50 Plot twist: it was Janek all along!
there is no Czech word: Fraud = Podvod :D
Thank y'all for the constant advice, you're lifesavers.
Oh God! You don`t know how much I love these guys! The best duo ever!
'Van Kerkhove' is a last name quite common in Belgium(possibly Netherlands too), but that it is written 'Kherkhove' is certainly not our way of writing it, so I wonder how that name got in the records.
There is a reason why I only order from shops that have a least one physical store in a reasonable vicinity.
That's the stupidest thing I have seen today
Better than Santa, we have Honest Guide standing up for all the honest and innocent people. Merry Christmas. ❤
I don't even live in the Czech Rupublic but I'm invested.
Please do a follow up regardless of what happens!
I could almost hear the guy's brain grinding gears while he tried to quickly fabricate reasons to absolve himself from any wrongdoing and distance himself from this business.

Excellent journalism!
360 business days for a backpack to arrive is wild
you can be your own secret santa :D
Could be worse, could be 400 days lol
nice job you used the buzzword. Congratulations. Your comment is also "wild"
Plot twist: the backpack is sewn, packed and shipped from the Moon. 🤦
not in communist countries. we used to wait 10+ years to get the car we paid for
you are amazing at your research! keep going
in india Airtel telecom does this. they sell 1 month plan but in their Terms and Condition they claims we identify 1 month as 28 days . we are entering the era where we can't even claim 1 month should be at least 30 days.
Technically a month can be 28 days
...They define their month by the shortest month rather than the eleven others? That doesn't even make sense (outside of money); what a terrible company.
Vodafone in Italy tried to do and did it for a while to have a month of 28 days, but consumers associations managed to revert to 30 days, through judiciary action
"My sister and one of my viewers?!" - Janek "Ross Geller" Rubeš 🤣😂
I hope, no matter if he reimburses the money, you will inform the police or some other legal body. He/they will not stop scamming people
Merry Xmas Janek ❤
When scamming becomes a 'blood' sport. Keep up the good work Janek!
Love your sarcasm.
i love this one, i cant wait for part 2.
I love it when Janek goes badass mode!
Can't wait till next week
Thorough research! I love to see you guys bust scammers!
"You know who i am" omfg that was badass
Great video!
Looking forwards to next week video :D
THE ULTIMATIUM!!!! i love it. i'll be back in 7 days to see what happens!
Great Investigation !
Will be watching next weeks
I am so glad that you are doing all these videos and a lot people can lead about different typea of scam and can avoid!

The Honest Guide being honest of Scammers
This is amazing!!!!!!!! Just tooooooo good
Loved this! :)
Trustpilot helps a lot when you wanna buy something in a store you don't know or looks shady or a lot stores have the same item.
if my sis did that i would just laugh at her and tell her how stupid she is scam site's exist since almost for ever and Ordering Merchandise from anything is just dumb as well as people that are fans of what ever are something else
Spicy!!! Love it
Go get em Janek,
Get him!!!
Brilliant and Thanks :)
I liked the black mailing joke

Don't buy from stores you don't know and without checking the brand/company.
Well done chaps 👌
I want that muppet! Too cute!
She is a director of a load of dissolved (closed) companies in the UK. A couple I checked were struck off.
360 days shipping doesn't sound sooo bad. Canceled an order on Amazon that first said 7 days and after that one week 3-5months.
Well even if you are based out of the Czech republic, your videos made ma aware of the ATM and exchangeoffices in denmark that runs more or less the exact same scheme. So Thank you

Where's my Czech word? Is it also gonna take a year and a half to arrive? >:(

This is why if you have never bought from some where you do some research first.
2:11 i think it might actually be a good idea for it to reach that point cos then maybe something will finally get done about scams
My "Rule of thumb" when dealing with a webstore I have never dealt with before, READ THE NEGATIVE, if any, REVIEWS before you order!
Janek, traditional Czech ball-busting journalist.
Seeesh. I am hyped
This is not a comment, it is just text you are viewing on a screen. By reading this text you agree to abide by my terms and conditions, as such you now owe me 1 like.
360 business days is more than a year actually... so, the backpack should arrive around May 2026... :P
yeah, next time you can support your country and stores from your country :)
One should always make purchases with a credit card, wherever available. Then at least you have an option to file a chargeback
Go Get them!
A ted mi prosím řeknete, kde najdu to místo kde jste natáčeli s temi modely vlaku na stěně
2 year shipping was common, in the 1800's.
This is googles fault and they profit from it.
Hahahaha I remembered I have ordered a gift for my nephew and utterly triggered by the end of the video I went on to check out what's going on with my order.
Stay safe!
Haha toto je top 🤣
Love from India :3
you mean shithole?
I just arrived from Prague today, hehe... I stayed by Muzeum and I think there's one of his stores a little up in the corner with Zitna street... if I'm guessing the store correctly.
No, this one has no physical presence, it's drop shipping only. Ofc, it's best to keep your wits about you in most large cities anway.
Everybody loves puppets! Great video guys!
Not sure why or if this means anything but Van Kerkhove is a Flemish (Dutch speaking Northern Belgium) last name
i love the drama 😂
If you paid with card, you could try requesting a chargeback
Google is to blame too. They will recommend you a scammwr site even you misspell it
I know you understand that from 2.30 to 2.36 is the literal definition of most shops/retail businesses, even physical right? 🤣 You buy from a supplier for cheaper then you sell, and most suppliers in most industries are in Asia 🤣
So that as a pretty empty statement. And i'm not even a capitalist, it's just what it is and that in itself is not a scam.
Making him an offer he can't refuse
Rule one: don't buy from an obscure web shop you never heard of. Rule two: go back to rule one.
That's why i like to pay upon delivery, not sure if these scam stores offer that option though
Damn EU should really do something about this. Should be illegal to have an unreasonable long shipping.
yeah, it shouldn't be legally associated with just the word "eshop".
But I guess it could be applied to attempted fraud for impersonating an "eshop".
Not gonna mention also running multiple scam businesses and using fake names for the owner of the companies as well as addresses? Seems like the core of the issue here 😂
You’re so good 😎
Buying on shady websites will get you scammed ? Who woulda thunk it! /s
Its also called transaction laundering.
360 business days is longer than a year. It's more like 18 months
The niece will have to have so much patience to get that backpack 🎒
Reminds me a friend ordered 10 flip-flops from a Chinese shop once and after a month he got a call from the tax authorities to come and collect his container from the shipyard apparently he paid for 10000 flip-flops
that puppet is so real
Will she actually get it by March 2026? Is it incredibly slow or do they simply not deliver?
