[Famitracker VRC6 Cover] Battle! Rival - Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal

- I think I got the hang of Famitracker! I wanted to try VRC6 on something special so I went with my favorite rival theme. This song is criminally under-covered (don't know if that's the word) but here is my shot at it! I did take some creative liberties with it so hopefully that doesn't ruin it. Enjoy!

Oh my gosh, this sounds..amazing, I love the Gold/Silver Rival theme. Most people don't do the original though.

I really appreciate the HGSS composition being VRC6ified this is how I imagine all of the G/S/C tracks would sound if the gameboy had enough audio channels
I'm sure if someone were to make a HGSS version of this, it would've sounded way different than the actual HGSS rival theme. The structure is different, in a good way.
This is just as great if not better than the original! VRC6 can really pump up a tune when done right. Well done!

One of the best versions of my favourite Pokémon song I think I have heard In a long time. Definitely would want this to play if someone challenged me to a Pokémon fight but, there are so many versions I love that, it is hard to decide which is best for me ha ha. Rival Silver is my favourite Pokémon character so this theme I hold very dear to my heart. 😇👍🦔🦔🦔

I noticed the main melody sounds almost exactly like the original.
It lets me wonder if both the Gameboy and the NES use similar sound chips.
Thank you ☺! I'm not very knowledgeable with either consoles' audio processing but I assume the pulse wave channels for both are similar in terms of modification and output
Never noticed but that opening “run” is the same as the Wild Pokemon theme from Gen 1, it just starts lower and lasts shorter

where did you get the instruments from? im trying to do something similar but with Pokemon Black 2 instruments
The instruments were made from scratch, which took a few rewinds on the original song. I got the DPCM kick .wav from a drum sample folder I found online.
How come you don't have more covers in your channel?? How dare you???????
