Nagato/Pain/Yahiko are truly such interesting characters. The origin of Akatsuki was originally meant to bring peace to the villages and stop the war-it’s a tragic story, really. It’s also kinda weird when you realize that Yahiko was only 15 when he died so the whole time we saw “Pain” he was in a 15 year old’s body but you wouldn’t know that cause of how badass he looked/sounded. The Akatsuki are some of the most well written antagonists ever. Kishimoto really knows how to write a good tragic backstory for his characters, doesn’t he?
At the end of the day, all of the villians actually have a soft_spot in their hearts for humanity, that's why they want peace like Thanos had once wanted !

Most people don't start to learn about their family until their a teen, which they need their family to teach them usually, and on top of that his family was in hiding since the 5 nations, or clans, hunted down the Uzamaki clan and tried to get rid of them. So if they were in hiding I highly doubt they'd be bragging about their clan.

That is not correct, rinnegan has 6 paths (7 actually) and with rinnegans ability to control people/bodies with black chakra receivers nagato controlled 6 bodies and gave 1 path to each body, creating 6 paths of pain (his villain name was pain). The outer path cant perform other 6 paths abilities, it can create chains and summon the gedo statue.
You can teleport drain souls, use shinra tensei and shibaku tensei, summon the demon king to heal yourself, summon 100nfeer monsters and more I think you can solo the world with that
